check out our wheels!

Because our wedding in 90 miles away from where we live, 95 percent of the guests will be from out of town, and 60 percent will be flying in and won’t have vehicles. We needed to find a means of transporation for our wedding party to go from the chapel to the reception. We decided to get a trolley from Main Street Trolley in Greenville. It’ll be a short ride, but a lot of fun! All of our attendants will have their cars at the hotel where the reception is and we’re all staying at the same hotel, so we won’t have to deal with parking and getting back to our cars.

I’ve also hired my friend, Sean, who owns Southern Valet to drive the girls around in a 15 passenger van to our hair appointment, to lunch, and then to the chapel. We got a second van to pick up the special out of town guests and drive them to the wedding and then to the reception. We’ve got a lot of out of towners to take care of. I’m basically creating an agenda for the van drivers that includes a list of the passengers that need to be on each van, and then the timeline and agenda for each van. Not having to worry about parking and driving on the big day will be such a lifesaver!

everybody needs one…

I just love these stamps and embossers from Three Designing Women. They’re the perfect way to personalize a gift tag, wine bottle hanger, the inside cover of a book, and the most common use, as a return address on an envelope.

These stamps and embossers would make perfects gifts. I would use them to customize our wedding gift bags that we’ll be giving guests when they check in to the hotels and they would make thank you note writing so easy and cute!

my changing monogram…

One idea that I really love is to have a table runner on the bride’s cake table with my monogram on it. We’ve started the search, but haven’t found the perfect runner yet. I guess I’ll keep the “A” on there, but if I go with the “C” I can use it after May 3! If I go with the “A” I’ll give it to my parents.
This is the prettiest one I’ve seen so far.

As I’ve mentioned before, the cake will be pale pink, similar to the one below, but with a different design, so the embroidery will also be pink.

Why hasn't this happened to me?

I keep hearing from the girls at Warren Barron Bridal (in Highland Park Village in Dallas) that I shouldn’t worry about my dress fitting because every bride loses weight in the last couple of months before the wedding. I’m sure this is true, but with all of the exercising, I’m just ravenous! Paula Deen’s “Not Yo Mama’s Banana Pudding” is shouting at me from the fridge, “Eat me!”

I’ve been very fortunate to not feel too much pressure to lose weight or get on some kind of skin regimine. Of course, we all want to look our best on our wedding day, but with this hanging out in my refrigerator, it’s going to be tough!
