About

Hey, y’all! I’m Erin. I’m married to Todd, have three little boys named Hudson, Hayes, and James Walker. This blog began in 2007 and was called Blue-Eyed Bride. I started it because I was planning our wedding and thought it would be fun to chronicle my thoughts as an engaged girl. I really enjoyed the community that grew from my wedding-planning stories, so when we were married in May 2008, I decided to continue blogging.

These days, I blog about life with my family, hospitality, motherhood, and some of the fun ideas and projects I’m working on. The questions that readers ask the most are usually about our home, event planning and hospitality, and occasionally about our family. The conversation around here revolves mostly around being a young mom, how to create community, and living out the love of Jesus. If there’s anything I believe in, it’s in encouraging others that they can be influential right where they are, and I’m on a mission to do just that.

I’d like to invite you to grab a cup of coffee or tea, pull up a seat, and hang out for a while. If you’re into house stuff, you can check out posts about our home HERE. If you’re planning an event or party, check out these posts HERE. In my former life I was an event planner, and I’ve used some of that experience to try to help young moms host events that create community in their own little neck of the woods. And if you’re still here, you can check out the family posts HERE. I write these to keep friends and family up-to-speed with the boys, and to document the memories of a time in our lives that’s flying all-too-fast.

I find so much joy in practicing imperfect hospitality and cultivating community. I believe in inspiring other moms to find the joy in the little things as we navigate the unpredictable journey of motherhood.

I’m passionate about hospitality and being an inviter, and believe that it’s important to love people the way Jesus loves us. I love celebrating and looking for the positivity and joy in motherhood. I hope that you find this space to be an encouragement to you as I share about real, honest, beautiful, imperfect motherhood. I’d love to connect with you! If you see me around Columbia, South Carolina, please say hello! And until we get a chance to meet in person, you can subscribe to the blog here.
