Because our wedding in 90 miles away from where we live, 95 percent of the guests will be from out of town, and 60 percent will be flying in and won’t have vehicles. We needed to find a means of transporation for our wedding party to go from the chapel to the reception. We decided to get a trolley from Main Street Trolley in Greenville. It’ll be a short ride, but a lot of fun! All of our attendants will have their cars at the hotel where the reception is and we’re all staying at the same hotel, so we won’t have to deal with parking and getting back to our cars.

I’ve also hired my friend, Sean, who owns Southern Valet to drive the girls around in a 15 passenger van to our hair appointment, to lunch, and then to the chapel. We got a second van to pick up the special out of town guests and drive them to the wedding and then to the reception. We’ve got a lot of out of towners to take care of. I’m basically creating an agenda for the van drivers that includes a list of the passengers that need to be on each van, and then the timeline and agenda for each van. Not having to worry about parking and driving on the big day will be such a lifesaver!
I love your idea with the trolley! My mom was talking about that for my wedding also… would you be keeping the trolley to bring all guests back to the hotel?
we’re only using the trolley for after the wedding. it will carry just the wedding party from the ceremony to the reception.
we have rented two 15 passenger vans to bring guests from the hotel, to the ceremony, and back to the hotel (where the reception is). fortunately, we’re having the reception where our room blocks are.
