an update in snippets!

1. I haven’t really talked about how we’re adjusting since the move. Things at Nana’s are going well. I think it has been a really big change for her to have a family of four (and our two dogs) move in with her. The boys are doing great and love being at Nana’s house. Todd’s parents are also right down the street, so we’re seeing a lot of family, and we all love it! The boys absolutely love their grandparents, and the second they walk in the room, everyone’s mood lifts.

2. While Hudson loves being at Nana’s house, he still asks about his house and his room quite a bit. We try our best to explain why we don’t go there anymore, but I think it will just take time for him. I think all the changes are tough on him, but we’re giving him lots of TLC.

3. This weekend is our church’s performances of the Singing Christmas Tree. I’m in the choir, so I’m in the tree. It is so much fun, and I hope that if you’re in the Columbia, South Carolina area this weekend, you’ll come to the Singing Christmas Tree. (You can get free tickets at www.christmasatshandon.com)

4. Hudson had his little Christmas pageant at school this week, and it was just the sweetest thing. He did great for about two songs- singing along and doing all the hand motions. And then it was like he realized that everyone was looking at him, and then he kept trying to cover up his face because he was embarrassed. The program was so sweet, and I’ve loved getting to hear him sing all the songs in the car.

Hudson is on the back row, grinning from ear to ear because he was so happy to see his grandparents!

5. We haven’t really been house-hunting lately, just because we’re so busy with the Christmas season- performances, parties, etc.- but we know we’ll find the right home one of these days!

6. I still don’t have Christmas cards printed. I fully intend to do them, but right now I’m waiting on pictures. We have a tree up in Nana’s house, but we haven’t decorated it yet. We’re just kind of sorting through all the boxes and trying to find the energy to get it decorated. We’ll do it before Christmas Eve!

7. We went to the zoo this week with our friends Emily and Jack. After the zoo, we went to Chick-fil-A and the boys had milkshakes. Yum!

I hope you all have a fantastic, relaxing weekend! We’re doing Singing Christmas Tree performances and spending a lot of time playing outside!

Gift idea from Minted: Calendars!

It has been a few years since I’ve ordered a wall calendar for our family, but when I found out about the calendars from Minted, I got so excited!

The calendars are called “the most beautiful calendars in the world,” and coming from Minted, I believe that to be the truth.

They’re printed on luxurious, matte paper and they’re designed by indie designers. Over the years I have ordered Christmas cards, invitations, and greeting cards from Minted and have never been disappointed.

But these calendars… with this quality… and the personalization options make them the best gift to give to grandparents and just as a family gift for us.

I went through and designed mine with pictures of our family throughout the last year. The design process is very easy.

I chose the Days of the Week Grand Calendar for our family. Then I went through all of our photos and chose which ones I wanted to use for each month. The process was easy peasy, and I can’t wait to see the final product when it arrives.

We chose to use a picture of Hayes at his birthday party for the photo for May, his birth month. And used a photo of Todd with the boys for his birth month. I was able to label special dates on the calendar for birthdays and anniversaries. I’m excited about using the calendar this year and giving a few as gifts!

So I just wanted to share these gorgeous calendars with you all. There are two different sizes and at least a dozen different designs that you can choose. Happy gifting!!

{Giveaway} Day 2 of Favorite Things: Pair of Delicate Raymond Vintage Monogram Necklaces

Today’s favorite thing was on my wish list for the longest time. And it turns out, it was on Nina’s wish list, too!

The beautiful Vintage Monogram Necklace from Delicate Raymond is the perfect every day statement piece. My very favorite, Carrie Underwood, wears hers all the time and I just fell in love with the way it looks.

Nina and I decided that we wanted to give each other these for our birthdays this year. I received one for my 30th birthday from my dear friend Nina, and I’ve worn it every day since then. Nina’s birthday is next week… and I’m pretty sure she knows what she’s getting for her birthday!

We are giving away TWO of these beautiful necklaces. So one of you will receive one for yourself and one to give away to a dear friend.

{Giveaway} Day 1 of Favorite Things: RAZ Plush Nativity Set

Nina and I are both so excited to share this item with you for our first day of 12 Days of Favorite Things. Because if we had to pick a number one favorite, this would be it!

I got my boys a RAZ Plush Nativity Set last year for Christmas, and they had the best time playing with it throughout December.

This year, I got a few sets to give as gifts and I think they’re just so much fun for kids to look at and learn the story of the nativity, but they can also play with the set without damaging it.

The plush nativity set is colorful and each little nativity character is about 9 inches tall. Perfect for under the tree or even on a table top. Your kids can play with it every year and it looks cute with all of your decor! This is also a fantastic gift to give this season.

We’ll be using Rafflecopter for all of the giveaway entries for the 12 Days of Favorite Things giveaways. Once you enter the giveaway on either Blue-Eyed Bride or According to Nina, you are automatically entered for both blogs. Just follow the steps on Rafflecopter to enter!
