to market, to market

It’s that time of year again! I’m headed to Atlanta tomorrow morning for Market. For years I’ve either met my mom and her best friends at Market in Atlanta or Dallas. It has always been so much fun to tag along with them as they laugh and look at all the latest trends. They stopped meeting up at the Dallas Market a few years ago and have been going strictly to Atlanta for about six years now.

This is the first year that my mom’s friends aren’t coming, but both of my parents will be there. I’m picking my folks up at the airport tomorrow morning and then we’ll be shopping. More like browsing this time. We won’t be getting anything for our house for a long time and we’ve got a particular bedroom to focus on this time.

And guess what! I think I get to meet Belle from A Belle and Her Beau!

Since I don’t know the baby’s gender yet I’m just going to browse around and see what I like. Once we know the gender (on January 27) I can make some final decisions on a crib, a rocker/glider, dresser, etc. I know that I can order a lot of these things through catalogs, but having the wholesale option is very attractive and I’m going to take advantage of it.

So I’ve already got some fun color combinations that I like. Of course almost all are for little girl rooms. I’ll apologize to my baby later if he happens to be a boy. My mom and I will be working on picking out fabrics so she can make the bedding, but I do want some inspiration rooms.

I just stumbled upon Serena and Lily. Have I been under a rock? Have all of you heard of this adorable catalog and website before? I’ve posted some of my favorite rooms from their collections. I’m really digging the pink and yellow combination in the Isabel collection. The pink is soft, but I love the vibrant yellow.

And here’s my gender-neutral color palette. Yellow and green. It would totally work for a boy’s room and it’s so bright and cheery in there! I wouldn’t use flowers for a little boy, but the colors are fantastic together.

I also love yellow, black, and white for a girl and green, black, and white for a boy like this nursery from HGTV’s Rate my Space.

That’s what I’ll be doing this weekend. Browsing and looking for ideas. It would be nice to get these big furniture pieces wholesale if the price is right. I have to say that it’s still a little surreal to be in a position to be making these kinds of decisions. I’m sure I’ll procrastinate on it, but I just want to make sure the room is ready when the baby comes home with us in June.

off the wagon, but still proud!

Weight Watchers Wednesday is here! I’m not following the Weight Watchers program right now because of the pregnancy. I considered it, but I haven’t been able to hold much food down that I kind of figured that whatever I could eat, I should eat!

I still think about Weight Watchers points every time I eat even though I don’t let that stop me from eating something. This little baby is letting me know very clearly what he or she wants to eat!

I apologize for abandoning Weight Watchers Wednesdays. I will not be letting any of you know what I weigh throughout the pregnancy, so don’t count on that, but I’m going to be counting on my fellow Weight Watchers to hold me accountable after the baby comes and help me get back on the wagon– or fit train, as my dear friend, Mojito Maven calls it.

With all of that said, I’d like to give a huge shout out to the two ladies that started Weight Watchers Wednesdays with me, Mojito Maven and LyndsAU. I’m sure you have all followed their stories and know how incredibly successful they’ve been with their weight loss journey. I am blown away by their discipline and ability to completely change their lifestyles. They were both totally gorgeous before, but now they are these strong, healthy, gorgeous women who know exactly what they want and know how to get it. And they’re inspiring everyone around them to get fit!

giddy!

I’ve been so excited about the launch of the Southern Weddings magazine for months now and today is the day! The Southern Weddings blog is the best wedding blog out there and features the most inspiring details and images. I get excited every morning to see what gorgeous weddings they’ll post each day. The premiere issue of their magazine hits stands today and I’ve got to go out to find my copy.

Cyndi’s favorite photographer, Jose Villa, shot the adorable cover image.

Thanks to the wonderful Kelly Moore, I’m able to see a sneak peak of something that I’m so excited about!

The image is a little small, but that’s our wedding on the left in case you can’t see it. Erin and Todd in Southern Weddings magazine! I have known for a couple of months that this was a possibility, but I didn’t want to say anything about it because I wasn’t sure if it would actually happen. So I’m heading out today to find about 10 copies of this magazine to send to family and friends!

I just have to say that if Kelly Moore had not been our photographer this would never have happened. Her work is so beautiful and I always feel like I could have been a guest at each of the weddings that she shoots. Bravo, Kelly! And congratulations to the gorgeous ladies of Southern Weddings magazine!

the fake bump

Please don’t mind the horrified look on my face. And please note that this is not my belly, but the foam/padded belly that they gave you at maternity clothes stores to try on. Definitely more strange than trying on a wedding dress. And it didn’t look the same as when you put a basketball under your shirt in the 6th grade.

Edited to add: That’s a 7 month belly in there. I have a feeling I’ll be bigger than that when I’m at 7 months.
