Brides and the City

Now that the Sex and the City movie is out, I’m reminded of all the other beautiful weddings that were featured on the show. It’s fun to look at them all together and see the different bridal styles of the girls– even Charlotte as she transformed from princess bride to vintage bride.

Which bride are you most like? Vintage Bride? Princess Bride? Modern Bride? Couture Bride? Classic Bride?

Dress shopping was naturally one of the most fun activities in my wedding-planning process. I tried on nearly one hundred dresses and never wanted to stop– even after I knew I’d found my dress. I got to be whatever Bride I wanted to be and I liked to imagine what venues where I might wear some of the “not quite right for me” dresses. The bridal fashions have really evolved so that each bride can feel like herself on her wedding day. And that’s the most important thing.

blue eyed bride

I wanted to let everyone who subscribes to this blog and who has us linked from your blog know that we are changing the title of this blog to “Blue Eyed Bride.” We will be keeping the same URL. I’m making the change because I never imagined the broad range of exposure that this blog would get and that it would evolve from being just ramblings about our wedding planning process and daily happenings to a full blown wedding blog. I’m really enjoying it and actually about to gear up to be a guest blogger for Elizabeth Anne Designs. Because of all of this, I feel the need to maintain our privacy and give a more appropriate content-related name to this project!

Update your links! Blue Eyed Bride is coming on Monday.

where Champagne Music was born?

We’re in Pittsburgh for the weekend attending a friend’s wedding. We’re staying at the William Penn Omni Hotel where, according to Lawrence Welk, is the place where Champagne Music was born. It’s just something I read after we made the reservations, but I’m not sure what exactly Champagne Music is. The hotel is beautiful and we’re looking forward to a great weekend with friends.

I’ll be back on track on Monday. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

my favorite new dress

I am positively obsessed with this new wedding gown by Amsale. If I could find this dress in another color I’d be all over it! I obviously don’t need a big white dress anymore. The silhouette is beautiful, flattering, and timeless and I imagine that everyone would look great in it!
