dream rooms

Todd and I started looking at houses last September, a few months after we got engaged. We knew that we didn’t want to stay in his bachelor pad house and that we didn’t want to deal with the stress of moving right after or right before the wedding. We closed on our little house in December and moved all of our stuff into the house.

Todd stayed with our very generous, hospitable friends until the wedding. After the honeymoon, it was so nice to just walk into our house and everything already be in its place and not have to deal with the added stress of unpacking your life. We already had plenty of wedding gifts to unwrap and put away.

Now that the wedding is over, I’ve started thinking seriously about how we want to decorate our room. My mom works as an in home consultant for a fabric company in Dallas and I picked up swatches a few weeks ago that I’d like to use in our bedroom. Then I found this picture on their website and got so excited because these are the fabrics I picked out!

My cousin posted some photos of a shower she hosted and I saw this picture of a room that was added on to the home where the shower was hosted. Isn’t this the most beautiful room you’ve ever seen?! So much light and warmth and the perfect mix of comfy and beautiful.

A girl can dream, right?

I’m curious how many brides to be are merging their belongings into their residence after the wedding and how many of you are going to move before the wedding.

fuschia and taupe

The latest edition of MSW is pretty great. Lots of beautiful cakes, flowers, real weddings, and this wonderfully clean and comfortable color combination of fuschia and taupe. Doesn’t the White Russian look so yummy? I see this as a morning wedding with a brunch reception.

my new favorite wedding photo

I found out about Millie Holloman, North Carolina photographer, through my fabulous and often raved about photographer, Kelly Moore. Kelly and Millie worked together on Love Affair– an all female photographer workshop that was held in Bald Head Island this past Spring. I’ve come to enjoy Millie’s blog the way I enjoy Kelly’s and I found this fantastic photo there.

Apparently the photo was staged with bystanders feeding crackers to the pigeons, but they got it and it’s so much fun!

this week

I am the guest blogger this week for Elizabeth Anne Designs. It was a lot of fun writing about the wedding planning process.

I promise to start with new material over here this week. It’s sort of crazy around our house. Boudreaux is allergic to summer time. Not really, but he’s a scratching machine. Fiona has an ear infection. And these are just our dogs! Good thing we don’t have kids! I’m heading to Market in Atlanta on Friday with my mom. I hope to finally finish up our guest bedroom and guest bathroom after this trip.

For now, I’m just going to give you this photo to laugh at. I think it’s my favorite photo from the wedding. This was just after we ran through the aisle of wands and I hopped up into our get away carriage. Everyone was yelling and my bridesmaids were hollering my new name to be silly! This is how I felt all day!
