hostess gifts

Right after we got engaged someone wanted to host a party for us and I realized that we’d be having lots of parties and showers in the coming year. I immediately started looking for hostess gifts and really wasn’t sure what I wanted to find. I wanted something original and something that would really show the hostesses that I appreciated them.

I found the adorable aprons from Kitsch *n Glam. These aprons have such a retro, “I Love Lucy,” pin up girl kind of look. They’re flattering and really make you look great in the kitchen. I bought a couple of the aprons for myself and they really make me want to cook! Our party and shower hostesses covered a range of ages and everyone that we gave these to loved them. They even have matching oven mits and dish towels. Seriously cute!

How are you planning on thanking your shower hosts and hostesses?

a weiss move

Mindy Weiss, wedding planner to the stars, has a pretty extensive line of wedding goodies! Her new wedding planning guide is also available now and I can’t wait to pick it up. I was browsing through the Gifts and Goodies section and found some of the items that I gave my bridesmaids and flowers girls.

The Flower Girl, a Disney book for your adorable flower girls. I gave this book to Samantha and Natalie and they loved it! I stuffed it in a monogramed canvas bag with their full names on them and the straps were polka dot. I also included a bride and groom iced cookie, the little silver bell that each of them rang during the ceremony, Crayons, and a wedding coloring book.

Mindy’s emergency kit. It comes stocked with miniature deoderant, bobby pins, safety pins, sewing kit, hairspray, tooth brush, tooth paste, Scotch tape, and pretty much anything else you’ll need in case of an emergency. It’s pricey, but it was so easy to grab this and go rather than having to create my own emergency kit.

Mindy’s Wedding Book. I can’t wait to go to Barnes and Noble just to sit and read her tips.

scott antique market

While we were in Atlanta, we spent an entire half of one of our days at the Scott Antique Market. Talk about a treasure hunt! This incredible antique show/flea market takes place on the second weekend of every month and it costs just $5.00 per person. I wish that I had gone before the wedding. I saw the most beautiful vases and stained glass windows. Gorgeous antique spoons and napkin rings. If you’re in the Atlanta area or within driving distance, you must take the trip down there!

colors!

I spent this past weekend in Atlanta at Market with my mom and her best friends. It’s a tradition that they all meet up from all over the country in ATL every January and July. Since I’ve entered my twenties, I’ve been able to go with them. It’s always so much fun to see the new color trends and themes every year. I’m so glad that orange is over!

I’ll be posting inspiration boards this week based on the colors I saw this weekend at Market! Stay tuned…
