We’re off to NYC! We had so much fun planning our anniversary trip. All of your suggestions were beyond helpful and it was incredibly hard to try to decide where we would dine for all of our meals.
I’m going to give a full recap when we get back because I didn’t think it was wise to share our itinerary with the interwebs before we leave. Or, rather, Todd thought it wasn’t a smart thing for me to do, so I took his advice and left that out.
We’re planning on walking around Chelsea, Greenwich Village, and Central Park. We don’t have any plans to take any tours because we’ve both done all of the tours before. This is a leisurely trip where we can just enjoy being together.
I’ll be doing some scheduled posts while we’re away because I promised Todd that I wouldn’t blog and I would keep Twitter to a minimum. It’s probably for the best!
Have a great few days!

I know I sound so dramatic about seeing my girl crush in concert, but it was just great! I rarely get star struck and as soon as she came on stage I was just giddy. She is absolutely beautiful, as you’d imagine, teeny tiny, and the voice is incredible. She didn’t sing a single bad note.
I was in grad school when Carrie was on Idol and my good friend (and bridesmaid) and I rooted for her from the very beginning. And then I would frantically text as many times as I could until my fingers fell off to vote for Carrie on Idol. I’m just a fan.
She didn’t leave out any of the great songs and she even busted out with “How Great Thou Art” in the middle of “Jesus Take the Wheel.”
We had fantastic seats and I was able to get some really great pictures– not including the terrible self-portrait of the Todd and me where Todd appears to be blinded by the flash.

Carrie opened with “Cowboy Casanova” in a tuxedo-like outfit with pedal pushers and amazing sequined shoes.

There were about 6 wardrobe changes and I don’t think the show could have been any better. Even Todd was impressed!
She sang “Just a Dream” in this glittery pink tulle skirt while sitting on the swing.

She played and sang “All American Girl.”

The most fun part of the night was when she came out in this truck and sang “Country Roads” as she and the truck flew over the arena.

Singing “He is Good” while playing the piano. While she sang this song, there were pictures on the screens of Carrie growing up and on through the years. There were pictures with her mother and it ended with a photo of Carrie and her fiance.

And the encore and finale of “Before He Cheats” and “Songs Like This.”

Such a great show! Thanks for letting me express me excitement over the concert here!

As my dad recently reminded me, my very first Mother’s Day is coming up. It’s so exciting to be a mom and to celebrate motherhood with so many other moms. I’ve got a few gift ideas for the daughter giving to her mom or for the husband looking around at his wife’s favorite blogs for Mother’s Day gift ideas!
Stella and Dot is promising that all orders placed by May 1st will arrive in time for Mother’s Day. Stella and Dot has so many great items for mom and now there’s even a line of jewelry for daughters, too, so they can match their moms. This ring comes in sizes for little girls and women.

Kelly Moore Bag is perfect for the camera-loving, busy mom who needs to be hands free as much as possible. The strap is long so the bag falls at your hip, which makes it perfect for moms holding a baby to reach inside the bag without having to juggle everything. The bag has an easy snap closure and has plenty of storage. If you’re not carrying as many lenses around (as pictured), you can use the compartments for your wallet and baby bottles, diapers, wipes, etc. It’s a great multi-purpose bag for the woman trying to take on the day and catch a few photos of her gorgeous kids at the same time.

I am a huge fan of Ashley Brooke Designs and her stationery. She recently introduced a design for recipe cards and a shopping tote. These are both perfect for the cooking mom who is always at the grocery store. This is a great way for mom to be green and to have an adorable bag that matches her personality.

I love Sonya Renee jewelry– especially the initial gold necklaces. Todd has given me a collection of three of her necklaces for my three initials and I absolutely love them. Sometimes I wear them all together and sometimes I just wear one of them. Another cute idea is to get mom the initials of her children if that’s something she would like. These leather braided charm bracelets are also adorable and smart!

For the mommy blogger in your life, what’s better than a brand new blog design? Check out Penny Lane Designs for her prefab designs or for a custom design.

To help mom stay organized and do it in style, get her a momAgenda. The new colors are beautiful!

Le Creuset isn’t the typical kitchen item that is considered a “no no” for gift-giving. This stuff is beautiful and even if she’s not a cook, any woman would love this to just accessorize her kitchen.

I’m obsessed with white watches right now, but until now they’ve been a little out of my price range since I got a great watch last year for our anniversary. This Anne Klein watch is only $55.00 at Dillards. It’s so stylish and the price is perfect! It also comes in three other colors, so if you can’t decide on a color it’s completely affordable to buy them all!
