What I Learned in May & What I'm Into

what I learned in May

I‘m linking up with Leigh Kramer for What I’m Into

1. The new Coldplay album

I love, love, love Coldplay, and this album came at the perfect time right before our beach trip.

2. The Nesting Place and The One & Only

I’ve been slowly and deliberately devouring The Nester’s beautiful book, Nesting Place. Seriously. It’s beautiful and it just tugs at my heart. And I’m planning to read more of Emily Giffin’s new book in the car on the way to the beach. Are you on Goodreads? Someone asked where I find my book recommendations. A lot of it is word of mouth or reading reviews in magazines and newspapers, but I also love Goodreads.

3. This shirt from Anthropologie is my new favorite thing. I want to wear it every single day.

4. This blog post I read by Emily Freeman was the best thing I’ve read in a long, long time. You should read it, too!

I’m also linking up with the lovely Emily Freeman for What I Learned in May

1. This month, I learned that my body’s reaction to pollen season tends to change every five years or so. I used to get these horrible sinus infections. Now I just completely lose my voice and don’t have any other symptoms. And while I was regaining my voice, I was asked to sing a solo at church. So then I also learned that if I drank a honey and lemon juice concoction for 24 hours, I could regain my voice enough to pull it off.

2. I actually do like playing outside with my boys. Yeah, I don’t love to sweat, but who cares, right? Let’s make some fun memories outside while they run their little hearts out.

3. I really do love my morning coffee. A tiny splash of dairy first thing in the morning is necessary for me to have my best day.

4. Making a strawberry pie is a lot of fun. Making a perfect strawberry pie takes practice. Eating a strawberry pie is amazing!

Oh, that Anthro shirt is dreamy!

And I keep hearing how amazing the new Coldplay album is. I think I’m gonna have to grab it for myself.

You have a beautiful space here, Erin!

Mmmm strawberry pie sounds amazing! I don’t think Ive ever had one before. Going to try my hand at making one this summer. I love my creamer in my coffee too. I look forward to it way too much to ever give it up — even for a pound or two of weight loss. I try to balance it out my only having one cup with it in it. Have a nice weekend!

Yeah, I really need my morning latte to have a happy and healthy day too 🙂

The Nesting Place is my absolute next book purchase. We’re going to be moving soon and I’m dying to get my hands on it and glean all sorts of inspiration and ideas before it all gets crazy!

YES to the Coldplay album!! It’s been on repeat lately for me. Also, anything from Anthro is amazing but that top especially! It looks really lightweight for summer also! And thanks for reminding me I haven’t made a strawberry pie in a while, I’m thinking it’s about time. 😉

Oh, I keep meaning to get my own copy of The Nesting Place and just haven’t done it yet. My body completely changed to pollen this year, too. Boy was I struggling with terrible sinus pressure there for a bit. Strawberry pie sounds so good right now! Have a great weekend!

First, that blog post spoke to my anxious, competitive self. I want to take a breath and let my calling bubble up to the surface without any junk getting in its way! How beautifully written.
Second, I absolutely devoured The Nesting Place. It was a gamechanger for me, period. I feel I know myself better now that I’ve been given permission to be me in my home!
What would the world do without Myquillyn and Emily, yes?

I can’t function without a little bit of dairy in my morning coffee! It’s just such a treat to have a smooth cup of coffee in the morning.
Here’s to a cup of good coffee every morning this week, and tame allergies!
