I loved your posts about white space. You and I have been living the same life for the last year, I swear! Except that we were living in my mother’s house, not my grandmother’s, while we built a house. We ended up being there way longer than planned, because of course there were hiccups. But we moved into the new house in the middle of october. . .and every friend who has asked what my favorite thing about the new house is, has gotten the same answer: the white space. We were so crammed at my mom’s house, with a family of 4 moving into a house already being lived in, white space was one enormous thing missing in my life! The literal kind. . .there was nowhere in the house I could look that wasn’t jam packed with stuff. So honestly my favorite thing about the new house is being able to see entire areas of floor that are clean and empty. Entire spaces along the walls with nothing shoved there. I have furnished and decorated it, so it’s not like it looks empty. It’s just that there are those lovely blank spots where the eye can rest. Aaaah, white space. 🙂
Cleaning out my closet while I’m on maternity leave is on my to-do list!!!
