#carrollhome2013

When we started the home building process in early 2013, I began documenting the process on Instagram. I didn’t blog about it much because it was really just a handful of photos every now and then. (I promise that when the house comes together and I have everything how I want it, I will do a real tour.)

I decided to create a hash tag and I dated the pictures so I could sort the photos with the hash tag and look back to compare the progress photos.

Over the past 12 months, it has been so fun to watch our home go from a lot in the Forest Acres area to a home where we can grow our family.

We have settled in very nicely. We have unpacked every single box. We still have a little bit of organizing to do, and we haven’t put the finishing touches on everything yet. But it’s coming along. We are so comfortable and so happy to be home. Even the dogs are sleeping more soundly than ever!

Here’s a fun look back at #carrollhome2013!

We first looked at the lot in January of 2013. We designed our plans with the architect and it took a little over a month to finalize everything there. Then we waited on the city to get the building permit and line up everything to get the project started. At the beginning of April they started clearing the lot.

And I love ALL of your lighting choices. If you ever decide to share where you found some of those amazing fixtures, I’m sure all your readers would appreciate it:)

So glad you guys are finally in your new home and are making it yours!:)

Cute Pics! We move into our new house in about 15 days, and i’ve been doing the same thing. It has been so exciting to see it coming along. The first part seemed like it took forever, and then it feels like the last month or so there is always something new to see when we go visit it. Love your colors and can’t wait for a house tour!

I LOVE your house! So cute and very Southern. Is your brick reclaimed? My parents house in Louisiana is reclaimed brick and I LOVE LOVE the character it adds to the home.

Thanks for sharing all of these pictures! Everything is so beautiful and I love all of your choices, especially the lights. We are in the process of building a home right now, and are living with my in-laws, so I could relate to your living situation while building. I can’t wait to see more pictures so keep them coming. Everything looks just perfect! I’m actually blogging about the whole experience so we can look back and have a record of how our dream home came to be. 🙂

I’m so glad I stumbled upon this- I love your selections! My husband and I are building a home for the first time too, but we’re a few months out from our closing date. I have to talk myself out of visiting our home every day, and in the meantime I just look for blogs like this so I can live vicariously through people who are settled 😉 http://www.pottymouthedmommyblog.com

Love, love, love. I just called my husband and asked him to get a sample of Sea Salt when he goes to SW today. Your house is an inspiration.
