Five on Friday

It’s Friday! I can’t believe it. And it’s Labor Day weekend. We don’t ever really have plans for Labor Day weekend, but I’m looking forward to a low key weekend at home with my boys. And today I’m linking up with Darci and the girls for Five on Friday!

College football season is here, and we couldn’t be more excited! It was a really hot day in Columbia yesterday, so I chose to stay home instead of going to the game, but Todd was there. And he was so happy! The boys and I stayed home and watched the game on TV. Hayes was particularly captivated by all the action. I posted this picture on Instagram last night of our little linebacker!

Okay, y’all. This is very important. What was with all the Ben Affleck hate? Ben Affleck as Batman? Sounds pretty fantastic to me. I love Batman. I love Ben Affleck. Sounds like a win/win, yes?

Also in very important entertainment news… where are my Pretty Little Liars fans? This week’s episode was ca-razy! World War A did not disappoint! (Insert eye roll emoji here.) I LOVE this awesomely bad show.

It got really really hot in Columbia this week after a wonderful tease of uncharacteristically early fall weather. And I started pinning all the things about fall. Food, fashion, pumpkins, fall craft ideas. My Pinterest boards are blowing up with all things fall.

But I’m officially obsessed with plaid. I can’t wait for the weather to cool off enough for me to wear this because I love this outfit that I pinned!

I spent a lot of time this week choosing paint samples, picking up the samples, and testing the samples in the new house. I am 99% sure I have decided on the following Sherwin Williams colors.

neutral grey sherwin williams paint colors

1. Sea Salt will be used at 50% of the color in all of our common areas/living spaces in the house. The hallways, the kitchen, the family room. It’s soothing, and at 50% it’s even more soothing and has just the slightest amount of blue/green in the gray. I love it.

2. Topsail will be used in our master bedroom and bathroom. I love how soft it is, and our bedroom doesn’t get as much natural light, so I wanted something a lot lighter in there.

3. Aloof Gray will be in the boys’ bedrooms and bathroom. It’s the best masculine neutral and it will go with everything, no matter how I decide to decorate their rooms.

4. Unusual Gray will be used on all of the interior doors. It’s a pretty creamy gray and will make the doors pop again the bright white trim and the Sea Salt walls.

What are y’all up to? I hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

I’m always embarrassed to admit I watch PLL 🙂 this episode I kept wondering where their parents were! I was mad about all the spoilers on FB. But I’m not convinced the last scene was what it looked like 🙂

First of all LOVE your paint colors! I’ve never thought of painting the doors a different color so they pop, can’t wait to see pics. Second, I am so glad I am not the only 30 year old who watches PLL. And I hope the last scene was not what it looked like because I triple heart Mr.Fitz!!

I am also a huge fan of PLL! It’s embarrassing, because I feel like it’s me and a bunch of teenage girls glued to the TV on Tuesday nights! ha! So glad to hear you’re a fan as well 🙂 I was SHOCKED at the ending of the episode. Never saw it coming… and honestly? Still can’t make sense of it. Looking forward to the start of the second half of the season!

Also – I’m with you. Hate on Ben Affleck? No one could have a reason to hate that. Can’t wait for the movie to come out!

    Happy Friday!

What white are you using? We are painting sea salt on our den and kitchen and I’m having a hard time deciding on trim color.

I love PLL and my husband even watches it with me! I had a feeling all season that he was involved somehow, he really didn’t serve any other purpose. And I totally agree about the plaid, I just received the cutest little brown and cream plaid dresses for my girls for fall and I love them!

I’m upset by everyone’s Ben Affleck issues as well. I personally can’t wait to see him as Batman!

Hooray for football season and choosing your paint colors-fun times : )

  7. Natasha says

Love love love the paint colors! These are similar to the shades we are using in our new home. I am curious what flooring you will have. If hard wood floors, what shade are they? I am conflicted on that issue…

  8. Cheryl L. says

Oh, please take us on a tour of the house when you are all settled….I’ve been trying to talk my husband into painting our interior doors a color….they are white now….so far he isn’t budging….so maybe seeing yours will get him on board with my vision!!!!….love your colors!!!!

  9. says

I am totally with you about Batman — I think Ben Affleck will be great!! Also, I love the paint colors you have chosen for your home. I think soothing spaces are so great. 🙂 Happy Weekend!

    LOVING the paint colors!!!

We are Pretty Little Liars watchers and I agree, the finale was good! I thought this season was a bit slower, though : /

I was picking up something at Target today and noticed they put some CUTE plaid shirts out! Can’t wait to check them out!! I have a feeling if we do a girls trip sometime, that we will all be matching, haha!

I’m a bit confused. Did you have the paint store cut the color. Sea Salt 50%. So it’s much lighter and softer than regular Sea salt?
