Questions?

This week and the next few weeks are a little wild. We’ve been bouncing from activity, to meeting, to church, to dinner, back to church, around town, and home. It’s just that time of year when everything’s coming to a close. We’re winding down with preschool and getting excited for the summer.

And I definitely drive by the new house at least once per day. They recognize me as the “lady in the black car” by now, so I don’t think they’re alarmed anymore.

After nearly six years of blogging, sometimes I come to a little stand still when it comes to content. And with the busyness of this end-of-the-year season, I need your help.

I’ve done this two or three times before, but I’d love to open up the comments to your questions. Anything you want to know about, and I’ll try to answer it. (Within reason, of course. It’s a personal blog, but we do have some boundaries.)

I may space out the answers over a few weeks.

So, let me know what you’d like to know!

I’d love to know how you and your husband split house chores. Do you feel responsible mostly for the house? Do you get sick of it? What chores does he take on, and what do you expect of each other with both your schedules to make things “fair?”

    THANKS!

What kind of car do you drive? (Only wondering because you mentioned it..ha!) You don’t have to be too specific. Just curious because we’ll be purchasing my mommy car in the next year or so, so I’d love to know!

What are some of your favorite movies? Anything you love watching over and over?

I would love to see some of your ideas for the new house! Are there some inspiration pictures you could share? I know you’re into decor and can’t wait to see the finishes you’ll pick!

Congrats on your new house! What rooms are you focusing on first?

What meals do you take to friends? (ie new moms/death in the family)

Hey Erin! I know you’ve mentioned before that you were in event planning before you stayed home with your boys. I was just wondering what your Bachelors degree was in and the same for your Masters? My degree is in Business Management and I have the long-term goal of owning my own event planning company

    Thanks so much!

What house plan did y’all end up going with?
Have you ever been to Beaufort before? We are going in June and didn’t know if you had any recommendations

How did you and Todd meet and how long did y’all date, etc. I’m sure you’ve talked about this before, but I want to hear your “love story” so to say 🙂

You said once in a post that you had never lost anything except one t-shirt. Is that still true? I feel like I’m always losing pieces of kid toys, lip gloss, pacifiers and umbrellas.

What are your boys favorite books and movies at this age. I know you’ve posted about them in the past so maybe an update on that. My son loves books so I am always on the look-out for what others recommend for boys. I used your recommendation for Little Blue Truck and now my almost-3 yr old can recite it by memory! LOL

I’d love to see a Day in the Life style post about your average day “at home”.

Ditto what a few others have ask, i.e. are you still using the home management notebook? favorite books lately? organizational tips?

What double stroller do you recommend? And, does Hudson still ride in it? (We’re debating what way to for number 2).

What would be your perfect day with your family in New Orleans? 🙂

    What is your favorite color?

    Last meal?

Favorite place to visit in the whole world?

  13. says

I’d love to see a day in the life post!!
Also, I’d love to hear what you do for me time. I’ve struggled so much with this since Hank came along.

Clothes, clothes, clothes! What are your kids wearing these days, what are you wearing these days?

    1. How did you and TC finally decide to build instead of buying? Was it a compromise? How did you determine what the house would have in terms of what TC wants, you want, and what would be best for the boys?

    2. Do you have any regrets — personal, professional?

    3. What’s your current food/fitness plan? Weight Watchers? General tracking? You look great!

I too would love to see your house plan! Also, will your house be completely finished in terms of decorating when you move in? A year after completing ours, we still have no rugs and the only window treatments are in the kids’ rooms! We love it though and love that we have the rest of our lives to “finish” it.

I love day-in-the-life and menu posts. So: what was your day like today? What’s on your grocery list and what did you make with it this week?

Just last week my daughter Sara who is 14, asked me nicely if her dad & I could please not yell when we get upset with her & her brother. My husband & I have been working hard this past year on communicating with each other without yelling during conflicts and I have to say, practice makes perfect, or at least close to it ! After 18 yrs. of Marriage & with the help of Awesome mentors to my husband and I, our Marriage is better now than it was10 years ago ! We sat down with the kids the other day and disgussed what Sara had asked and told the kids that we will really work on that. I would love to have this book not only for myself but my husband as well as I’m sure we will both get so much out of it. Thank you for sharing with all of us Erin !

I’d love to see a post on how you and TC budget your money. You don’t have to give exact numbers or anything. Are you guys spenders or savers?

I tend to follow blogs of those that I have something in common with…(I have two boys, ages 3 1/2 and 19 months) I hear you, as well as others, talk about blog friends…how is it that you begin that relationship?, I think I have heard that you have met some in person??

I want to know if you are gonna have another baby?! ha I just always picture you with another one so I wondered.. Hope that is not too personal!

I would love to know more about the house you are building. We are currently building right now and its so fun to see others go through the same thing with designs and colors and room decor….

You know you’re always welcome to guest post again. 🙂 Everybody loved you! Just let me know if you ever want to!

Ditto on the “day in the life”– some people see them as invasive, but I’m so interested in routines! Morning routines, work out routines, night time routines. I always learn something I can use!

Also, I liked when you uploaded a few YouTube videos about organizing and things like that. Just saying 😉

It seems like you and Todd have blended and combined your families really well. Any words of wisdom on cultivating a relationship with your in-laws?

How much of your future house are you planning on sharing on the blog? Will we be getting a full tour?

  26. Allison says

I’d love to hear more details about your house building process, and see idea boards, etc for what you have selected. We just built our “forever house” two years ago, and it was so much fun, but a HUGE process! I’m so interested in the house building/design process that goes into a new house!

Also, I’d love to hear what some of your favorite stores are for clothing (for yourself), and see some more outfit posts. You are always dressed so cute!

Also- as a fellow boy mom (I have three boys!), I’d love to hear your thoughts on that, and do you ever wish for a girl in the future, or are you loving your boy mom status?

    Thanks 🙂

Our oldest boys were born the same summer, so I know you must be going through this too and wanted to ask your thoughts and feelings on…LETTING GO. I’m having the hardest time right now as Will asserts more and more independence. I drop him off to spend the night at his Nana’s and he gives me a hug and a kiss, but then barely looks back over his shoulder! I’m proud of him, that he’s so confident and secure, but a part of me misses those separation-anxiety days. It was nice to be so needed (even though it was also maddening!). Anyway, just wondered how you are dealing with just being okay and peaceful as Hudson learns to stretches his wings more and more, like my own firstborn is doing. (WHY IS THIS SO HARD?) 🙂

Would you mind giving some advice on building a house? Any things you wish you had known before you started?
