Okay, so the great thing about the 31 Days of Back to Basics Blogging was that it took the pressure off of me when I was writing blog posts.

The bad thing? I dropped the ball.

The good thing? We close on our house in about three weeks.

But this also means that my life right now is consumed with house hunting, packing boxes, thinking about where we’ll go if we don’t find a house by the time we close (and what we’ll do with all of our stuff), and just raising my sweet boys.

Oh, and did I mention I’m doing Holiday Market decorations again this year? That all happens right after we close on our house.

We keep laughing about God’s timing. Things are about to get really crazy up in the Carroll household. But we’re trying to stay really, really organized so we don’t just lose control of everything. We’ll tackle each little project with care and planning.

So if I’m quiet in the coming days (weeks?) it’s because there are only so many hours in the day and we’ve got so much going on right now.

Thank you for being gracious and letting me just say that I didn’t accomplish my goal. But it was fun to try it out.

I’ve also been trying to determine how much I want to continue to blog about my kids in a specific way, and what is appropriate to share. I’m sure that many, many bloggers have thought about this.

So while I’m quiet, I’ll be thinking about this, too, and praying about the direction we take.

(And let’s not talk about the fact that I haven’t figured out my boys’ Halloween costumes yet. Just giving myself some grace here. Or I’m trying to.)

Our lives always hit at once too. I think that sometimes God puts us through it all at once so that we lean on Him more than if it was all back to back and we thought we could do it all on our own accord. Praying that you get through everything relatively peacefully!

Best Wishes and hope everything goes smoothly for you and your family.
I know it can be a stressful time (as we did this 3 months ago).
Ours is temporary for now so we may be doing the move thing again in a year…we’ll see.

During the crazy last few weeks of the move (and it will get crazy) I found alot of comfort at Mass. I typically go alone (as much as I would love for us to go as a family…the kids typically are wound up and we spend the entire time chasing them and leaving early).

So again…best wishes and can’t wait to hear about your new house!!!!

I’m hoping you find the balance you’re looking for, but it’s ok if it doesn’t come for awhile. Tending to your family and your own personal desires and wishes are much more important than writing about them on the internet after the fact. I’m still fighting through my crazy season. After three months, I’m still unpacking, still cleaning, still trying to organize, let alone decorate. I’ve decided to give myself until the end of the year to get things back in order. I know it’ll happen and I’m sure it’ll happen for you too!

Sweet Erin! I have been laughing about God’s timing, too. Taking me 8 hours from my mom just as we’re adding another precious baby to our family? Either He knows something great is in store for us or He just has an incredible sense of humor! 😉 I will be praying that all the pieces fall into place perfectly for y’all.

I completely understand your desire to rethink how much you share about the boys online. I made that decision a long, long time ago and never have regretted it for a second. You can’t put a price on your babies’ privacy. What you put out on the Internet can never be taken back! It’s a scary place.

Hope you have a beautiful week! Lots of love to y’all!

Congrats on closing on a house! I know exactly how crazy that can make life though. We have been there. I have been actually thinking about the whole privacy issue on blogging… I am defining to myself what is actually “appropriate” to share with the world. Praying that all goes smoothly in these next couple of weeks. So excited for you! 🙂

I have also failed in my 31 Days. But I’m still going. The point is to try. But sometimes, you just have realize it’s time to let things go.

Big prayers in this very busy season of your life!
I did laugh a little after I drafted a post that including falling short of my 31 day goal only to close that out and open my reader to this last night. You always have the best words.

Wow! Lots to do! Perhaps the only thing the Carroll household could add at this point to make things even more busy and exciting would be a bun in the oven!

Hey Erin! Just getting caught up on your blog! I am also trying to navigate what and when to share things now that Fenn is getting older. Over all I have taken a huge step back from the blogging world, even though I love it, to put more time and thought into my actual life and its been very nice!
Next, I wanted to say we just went through that moving fiasco. It was brutal, and stressful, way more so than I EVER expected and i was so emotional about leaving our old house, and once we finally moved into the new house, I NEVER looked back! ha It was so crazy but so worth it and we are all settled now and loving it. I hope you guys find the perfect place. We had doors closed too but this was something that we prayed over for a year and in the end it worked out so perfectly!
Hope your boys are doing well! xoxoxo
