Win an Android Tablet from Norton

As a blogger, so much of my life is on my computer. I write blog posts, I send and receive money on Pay Pal, I correspond with readers and guest bloggers, and I just have a good time on my computer. Between Twitter, WordPress, and my email accounts, I’m always typing in password after password to get to the site I want to visit.

I can think of so many different times where I’ve been “locked out” of a site because I couldn’t remember my password. I have so many different passwords and they’re all different, but similar.

I often get confused about which password goes with which login. It’s frustrating and it’s a waste of time. And then all the times that I’m shopping online. Yes, it’s probably too often, but that’s not the point. I shop online more often than I shop in actual stores. And entering my credit card information over and over again just gets old. And I can have accounts at all of my favorite online retailers, but that requires having a password. And I have to remember that password.

Before I was introduced to the Norton Identity Safe program, I had some of my passwords randomly written down on sticky notes in my planner. I had some of my older passwords saved into an Excel file. And how easy is it to actually access that Excel file? Not easy at all. Especially when I’m not at my home computer.

The Norton Identity Safe app allows me to store my passwords, credit card information and form information, and notes all in one very secure location. It helps me determine which websites are secure and which ones aren’t.

The software also tells me when my passwords are “weak” or when they’re “strong” enough. It allows me to fill out annoying forms in just one click. I can finally feel okay about making up new passwords for each account because I’m not afraid of forgetting the password.

Not only am I able to see all of my saved passwords in the Norton Identity Safe program on my computer, but I also have the Norton Identity Safe app on my iPhone and my iPad. I have passwords saved into my Identity Safe Vault and all I have to do is enter my “vault” password to access all of my saved passwords.

When I’m on the go and needed to access so many different secure websites and programs, this makes life so much easier. To login to the Norton Identity Safe mobile add, I have to enter my Norton account information. And then enter the vault password to access my logins.

This app is so secure and so helpful! I love that I can access this information from all of my devices and that it cuts down on so much time for me to locate the information I need.

I have two very exciting pieces of information for you!

My latest experience with password forgetfulness happened just this morning. It took me no less than 20 tries to get my Pandora station to play so that I would have background music for work. I just refused to click the “Forgot Password” link because that is admitting defeat. Finally, I got it!

Not funny necessarily, but sadly true.

My latest experience was forgetting my new password for my Linked In account. Since they were recently hacked I had to switch it, and i was so thankful that I got it on my 3rd try and wasn’t locked out for the day. Between all the sites I visit I have too many passwords to remember…Norton’s software would be fabulous!

  3. says

I am forever locking myself out of things so I have had to create a spreadsheet that I keep at home to help me remember all of the different passwords.

  4. says

I’m constantly having to go through the password retrieval process. And I hate the “secret questions” they have you answer… like “Who was your favorite childhood superhero?” Ummmm, really?? How am I supposed to remember what I put for that?? The Norton app sounds neat, and the tablet would be awesome!

I have forgotten the password to my student loans numerous times because the company makes you change the password each year… and I can’t keep up with the changing of the times. We also try to live green and pay our bills online rather than get notices in the mail which makes us have to remember countless passwords for all of our monthly bills for water, power, car payments, and student loans. This would be a tremendous help for our family! Thanks for hosting this giveaway!

  6. Janelle says

I am always, always forgetting my passwords. I cannot count the number of times I have had to click ‘forgot password’ and sit around and wait for an email to get a new one!

  7. Amanda P says

I forget my work passwords all the time! I was locked out of my computer for a few hours one morning because of it. Had to get IT to reset my system to get in!

  8. Tanya B. says

The worse case of forgetting my password happened at work. We had to change our passwords every three months and use a specific combination of letters and numbers. About the third time we had to change them, I drew a blank and used something random which I forgot by the next day! Now I end up using the same password for everything because I’m afraid of forgetting one. Which is not safe at all!

  9. says

I always forget my passwords…especially for work websites. Thankfully, I can store my work passwords on that computer; otherwise, I’d have no clue what to type in. Most recently, I was stumped for Teachers Pay Teachers and had to go through the whole process where they email you a link to reset the password. What a hassle!

  10. Sonya says

My problem always seems to be when I have to change my password for an account. I always have trouble remembering it those first several logins.

  11. Stacy says

With so many different usernames and passwords, it’s nearly impossible to remember them all since I don’t want them to all be the same! I usually get it after the first few tries, but occasionally I have to click the “Forgot Password” link to reset my passwords…can’t win them all!!

  12. Brenda says

I usually have to click on the “forgot password” link to reset my password on sites I don’t access daily. Thanks!

  13. kristind says

Was just thinking to myself about how I must have something going on with my computer and sure enough my anti-virus software just expired so thank you!! I hate not remembering my passwords, but am even more nervous to keep them. It’s easy to do password1 and each time you have to change it – just change the number. Password2, password3, etc.

  14. says

The worst is when you need to pay a bill and you enter the wrong password so many times you get locked out…. and the bill is due the next day. Woops! This app will be a great addition to my iPhone!!

  15. says

I have post it’s and spreadsheets for all my passwords too. Such a pain! I lost my iTunes password once and was locked out for days. I finally remembered it and haven’t forgotten it since 🙂

  16. says

I recently had to change my bank account password – then immediately forgot it the next time I went to use it! Now I keep all in a spread sheet, assuming I remember to update!

  17. says

I have about 50 emails that have all my passwords and notes in them. I’m constantly emailing myself with website password updates. The worst was when I locked myself out of my bank website and they ended up freezing my entire account. I was glad they took great precautions, but it was a big pain to get it all situated!

  18. Haley says

I always forget my passwords…at least once a week 🙁 The worst is at work. I work part time and we have to have really secure passwords at the hospital and are required to change them about once every 1-2 months!!!

  19. Brenda says

I’m always having to reset my passwords for sites because they have to have a capital and a number with no repeating letters….. AGH!!! Also we have to change our passwords at work like every 60 days. Too many passwords in life!

  20. Ashley N says

I am constantly forgetting password/log-in info. The worst is my bank which requires a password with letters, numbers, at least one capital letter ad at least one non-alphanumeric character. And I’m required to change it quite frequently. I’m forever locking myself out of that one!!

  21. Marie says

I forget my passwords all of the time so I am constantly re-setting them. It’s difficult because each website/system has its own rules about how many characters and how many numbers and oh, it must have a “special character,” too. Some even have to be changed periodically and you are prohibited from using the last 5 passwords you’ve used! It’s so impossible.

  22. Kristin R says

I forget my debit card pin atleast once a month. I don’t know why or how I forget it because I use it almost everyday. Talk about stressing out in the check out line in the grocery store!

  23. says

Not that long ago, I couldn’t remember my password for my At&T account, and to reset it, I needed my account number, but we don’t get paper statements, and they don’t email that to you… It was fun trying to figure that one out. :-p

  24. says

We are constantly getting locked out of our credit card and banking websites because one of us will change the password and not tell the other one. So frustrating! So this would be such a God send!

  25. jennie says

although i make variations of the same type of passwords, i can’t seem to keep them all straight! every time i think i get smart by just changing a letter or number and i can’t even keep that straight!

  26. Brittany T. says

I have about 5 passwords that I alternate between because I simply couldn’t remember if I had a unique password for everything, and it occurs to me that if someone knew just one they could unravel my entire life! The last time I changed my email password to make it unique from the others, it took me about a month to train myself to switch to the new password, and I still forget it sometimes.

  27. Monica Young says

My friend gave me a desktop computer that had a password enabled on it, I quickly took it off because I have a hard time remembering passwords, and usually do the same passwords just different variations of it more or less. When I got a room mate I decided to put a master password on the computer which was a terrible idea because now I can’t remember the master password I set up and I can not log onto the computer. I have no clue what to do now or how to fix it :/ I’m stuck.

  28. says

there are soooo many times that i have lost my password… i use one main password and then have various versions of it, but that doesn’t help- i still can’t remember which one goes with which site and the more secure sites end up locking me out because i try too many times!!!

  29. KLMullins says

There have been so many times I have lost or simply forgotten my password. I have Norton Identity Safe on my computer at home. However the last time I forgot my password was for my mobile banking site that I was accessing from phone. I was locked out my third try and had to call and get it reset by the bank. The joys of passwords and multiple sites.

  30. says

I am constantly forgetting my e-mail password and/or typing it in wrong. I also have several passwords to my computer at work. I work in a large Drs. office so privacy is a must. It times out every 8-10 minutes or so. If I’m not working in a program then it will kick me out and I have to go through putting my passwords back in all over again. Time after time all day long!!

  31. Megan says

I forget my work passwords ALL THE TIME. Because the requirements for different passwords are sometimes so different, and some systems require me to change passwords periodically (on on different schedules), they all get jumbled in my head! I also have some systems that require 4 separate passswords to access what I need. It makes me think I need to revert back to my mother’s system, with a 3-page print out of all her different passwords. I would love to have something electronic that stores them all securely!

  32. says

I am constantly using the Forgot Password button! You would think I would eventually write all of my different passwords down….but no. Love the idea of storing everything in one secure place.

  33. says

I always forget my passwords. If its not at work then it’s at home. I love my phone because it has helped keep me in line. To keep my passwords organized I’ve created contacts for all my password needs. If its my online password etc. I create the contact with all the info. Be sure to have your phone setup to automatically lock in case it’s lost. Lol just one more code to remember.

  34. Heather says

  43. says

I lost the password to my online banking information when we were on vacation. It was a nightmare because it was AT NIGHT and the bank did not reopen until the next day. We had very little cash and I needed to make a transfer from acccounts. Had to wait and call my local branch and convince them I was myself and get them to reset it.

  44. Lauren says

I went on maternity leave from work and while I was out some of my passwords expired. It was such a nightmare to reset them all!

  45. says

I’m just happy that I’m not alone….in not remembering and have to reset my passwords every month. I think I have at least 50 different accounts that require passwords and some that I don’t log-in often enough, I just have to re-set the passwords every single time. Quite frustrating when you are in a rush trying to get things done. This sounds like the perfect product for me.

I have forgotten my password many of times before and could not retrieve them at all no matter what I did to try and remember them. After going through this many of times I realized it was time to do something about it.One thing I do now to remember them is by making all my passwords the same for everything.I no longer forget my password for most things because they are all the same so it is hard not to remember them this way.

I’ve had some trouble in the past with trying to remember passwords to websites that I had signed up to, unless I had wrote them down right away or made it some thing easy to remember if I visited them on a regular basis. This prize should come in handy so that I don’t have to worry about remembering passwords ever again.

I fear losing the address book where I keep all my online passwords. I hate it when I forget to bring this tape-mended, dog-eared, post-it full book with me. I’d be totally lost and vulnerable if it ever disappeared or got into the wrong hands. I desperately need to find a better way to manage these passwords. Hoping that Norton’s Identity Safe is the trusted tool that I’ve been looking for. 🙂

Nothing is more frustrating that not remembering a password. My last struggle was setting up a new device on our network. As it is encrypted, and random, and long, we spent a few days looking for the printout that we made when we set it up. Finally success. And it now has several copies in what we hope are obvious places for us to look next time. 😉

This isn’t my story, but I was just talking to my mom about it last night. My grandfather passed away a month ago, and since then my grandmother has locked herself out of her online bank account no less than 10 times (he used to pay the bills and now she has to do it). Each time she locks herself out, she has to call the bank helpline to unlock her, and it takes them an hour to walk her through resetting it. It’s crazy.

I always used Roboform (a password/form filler) so when I lost my computer and got a new one a few years back. When I went to enter all my usual sites, I found that there were a couple that I had not saved the passwords for and on top of that, they were older sites I had visited for years and used a totally different email address for as well, I was never able to get back into one of those sites. Even with reregistering I could not get in because all the rest of my info was the same so it insisted I was already registered.

Forgetting my bank account password is not a one-time thing, unfortunately. Not only is this extremely inconvenient when I’m trying to settle bills, it’s also quite embarrassing (and time-consuming) to repeatedly call up the bank and have them reset my password for me. I’ll try Norton and see if they can’t help me…
