my fantasy dinner party

Sometimes I like to play fun little games like, “What’s your personal theme song?” Β or “What’s your strut song?” Or “Who would play you in the movie about your life?”

Today’s fun game is “What 10 people would you invite to your fantasy dinner party?”

Here’s my list. And no judgment for any of my choices… Β these are just the people that I think would be fun to have at a dinner table. Also… it’s just a given that Todd and my parents would be there, too.

1. Kristen Wiig- Goodness, she’s funny.
2. Matt Lauer- Matt is so quick and so dry. But just so funny. He is the reason I still watch the Today show.
3. George W. Bush- He will always be one of my favorites. Just so down to earth and he so obviously loves to have fun and laugh.
4. Carrie Underwood- duh.
5. Jimmy Fallon- One of my favorite things about Jimmy Fallon is that he’s funny and he laughs at himself.
6. Steve Martin- Just a classic.
7. Hoda Kotb- I think Hoda is so much fun. She knows every word to every song and loves to laugh.
8. Simon Cowell- I’ve always had a thing for Simon. Despite the tight t-shirts and odd haircut, I think he knows what he’s talking about and if you can get him to laugh then you must be pretty funny.
9. Billy Joel- Because someone has to sing to us, and I can’t think of a better entertainer. He is the entertainer.
10. Kate Middleton- Because she’s Kate Middleton

I tried to find room for Prince Harry in here, but at my fantasy dinner party, Prince William would be unable to attend and the Duchess of Cambridge would bring Prince Harry as her stand-in date, so I’d really have eleven guests at my fantasy dinner party.

So, play along. Who would attend your fantasy dinner party?

Totally agree with Kate Middleton. She fascinates me. I would mind Prince Harry either hahaha πŸ™‚ I also agree that Hoda seems like a lot of fun.

I’d have to think about all of my guests, but I’d definitely want Elton John there because I just love him.

I love George Bush. He’d definitely be at mine. I know I’d also have Billy Graham, but I’m not sure who else. Have to think about it . . . Reese Witherspoon would also be a must and Brad Paisley. Wow this is already turning out to be an interesting crew. πŸ™‚

Awesome list! One thing, that’s not Kristen Wiig, that’s Carrie Underwood. That would be an amazing dinner!! (For me, George Bush would be no where near the table! Ha!!)

I like your list. Could be quite the party πŸ˜‰ Mine would be Kate (duh, first name basis), Prince Harry, Elton John, Ryan Reynolds (as my date obvs), Steven Tyler, Barbara Walters, Mila Kunis (so we could start our best friendship), Tom Hanks, Julia Roberts, and Jodi Picoult (so I could ask her why she has to ruin every single book with her endings). Obviously I’ve given this too much thought….

Your list is perfect! Your dinner party would be a huge success, such a great combination of people. Steve Martin and Kate Middleton would both me on my list!

I can’t really argue with your list at all. In fact, I think it’s perfect as stands IF you invite me (and my husband!!!!) to join you all. What a fun post. Also, just to throw this in there, my “ME” song is “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.” So let’s work on the dinner party soundtrack (for background music) next. Also, can we have bowtie fiesta and your Mom’s punch for dinner :)????
    XoXo.

I loved this; what a great combination of charming and great personalities! Also, I usually read from Google Reader so I’m not sure when you did a blog re-design but I love the new header.

Fun! I like your list! I’d go with Carrie Underwood, Meredith Viera, Dave Matthews, Colin Powell, Blake Shelton, Connie Britton, Beth Moore, Kate Middelton, Tom Hanks and Zach Galifianakis.

I love George W. Bush too! Thanks for having the courage to put him at your table – and put that on the internet! πŸ™‚

what fun! i think i’d have to invite oprah – since she’s met everybody. hopefully she could give me the inside scoop on all the other people that didn’t make the cut. i’d invite rabbi schmuley and tony robbins too. people with big ideas and big personalities fascinate me – even if i’m not buying what they are selling, their personalities intrigue me. meryl streep – such talent. valerie bertinelli seems like she’d be really down to earth and easy to get along with. i’d invite the obamas too – barack, michelle, sasha and malia. carly rae jepson – so i could (playfully) wring her neck because i can’t stop singing her song “call me maybe” πŸ™‚ !!!

    ack – that’s ten.

maybe i’ll host one next week too πŸ™‚

Uh, duh!! I guess that’s what you get for checking a blog with two children awake!! Haha, sorry, I now see both pictures (Kristen Wiig and Carrie Underwood) and their names!! I love your blog!!

  13. Charla says

Very fun! I’d also choose GWB! Brad Paisley, Billy Graham, Reba McEntire, Tucker Carlson, Ellen DeGeneres, Ree Drummond (Pioneer Woman,) Bono, Bill Gates and Ryan Gosling would surround the table as well.

How fun! I’ve never thought about it, but here my list on a whim:

    1. Kristen Wiig– I love her too. She is the funniest female comedian
    2. Robert Downey Jr. — He is so funny in Iron Man.
    3. Brian Wilson –I’m a Giants fan!
    4. Bill Clinton –I’m a conservative girl, but I’d still like to hear his thoughts and meet him. I think he’s smart.
    5. Jim Halpert –Not John Krasinski, but the character.
    6. Julia Roberts
    7. Carrie Underwood
    8. Justin Timberlake
    9. Rachel McAdams
    10. Emma Stone –I think she’s a great actress and seems down to earth and kind.

What a fun fantasy party that would be! Obviously, I heart the Duchess. Jimmy Fallon always makes me laugh, from old SNL to his new show. I agree that Matt is so good to watch on Today, and Hoda HAS to be fun because she can put up with Kathie Lee and her shenanigans! Cute post!

  16. cathy says

Well. I dislike matt very much……arrogant…….. Sorry… He is just rude!!! I do love prince Harry …I will sit by him.

    Hope all is well Erin!!!!!

Mine would include Robin Roberts (bc she’s such a strong, faith-filled, genuine person), Jennifer Aniston (bc friends is one of my all time fav shows), Kate Middleton (duh), I second Julia Roberts (seriously love all her movies), Kelly Ripa (cause she just seems like a hoot and so much fun), Sandra Bullock (again one of my absolutely favs), Jimmy Kimmel (again because he’s hilarious), Blake Shelton (I love his music and he seems just so down to earth), Channing Tatum (cause the boy can dance and doesn’t look to shabby either), Tim Tebow ( there aren’t words for what an amazing young man this guy is and wonderful role model for my little boy).
