We leave for the beach soon and I am in the midst of packing everything up for everyone. One of my favorite things is packing my beach bag and day dreaming about just sitting on the beach.
I have the Lands’ End Extra Large Zip Top tote. I love it because of its size. I can fit all of my stuff in it plus the boys’ towels. There is so much space in this bag! I also love the zip top. It helps keep the sand out of the bag and keep things in the bag dry.
So what’s in my bag this year? (*this doesn’t include all the fun beach toys, sunglasses, towels, noodles, and sunscreen for Hudson and Hayes)
1. Reef flip flops, 2. Gamecock National Champs Tervis Tumbler, 3. J.Crew Cover Up, 4. J.Crew Hat, 5. Handheld Water Misting Fan, 6. Target Beach Towel, 7. Pure & Free Baby Sunblock Stick, 8. Twilight (thanks to my friend Kristen!)

Beach bag? Who has a beach bag?=) Someone else I follow recommended this bag. It looks awesome. And your fillers are pretty cool too.

oh,what fun! i’m in the home stretch of packing – the movers arrive at 7:00 am tomorrow. so, truth be told, i couldn’t tell you where any of our beach supplies are at the moment. i’ve been eyeing an adorable tote at target though, and i think it will be my reward for getting through this very stressful time. lets see… i would fill it with: hamlet and much ado about nothing (work this summer) and the 50 shades of gray series (trashy fun this summer), hawaiian tropic sheer touch sunscreen (it smells SO good!) and a bottle of gatorade – my new obsession. i prefer the taste of the G2 (the low calorie one)…um….um. that’s all i can think of for now. i’ll keep daydreaming while i pack though…
have a wonderful weekend!

Hey Erin! Quick question did you use sunscreen on your boys before 4 months. I think you are supposed to wait till they are 6months? My little boy is 4 months and we are just starting summer.
So i am wondering what to do? I bought a sun tent and some spf swimsuits but they still will be exposed.
It is unrealistic for us to avoid the sun and beach for the next 2 months…
Any thoughts?

That’s funny because I recently ordered that bag for our beach trip! I also just clicked on your reef link and found a really cute pair of gold flip flops like I’ve been wanting (reef cahoots), so thanks!! What beach are y’all going to? Have a fun trip!!

Living in southwest Florida, I always have my beach bag packed. I keep 2 levels of sunscreen, 30 & 50, ziploc bags for shell collecting, a hat, bug repellant, an extra pair of sunglasses (we have lost ours before in the surf), an extra pair of cheap-o flip flops, towels and koozies. Of course we also bring a cooler and depending on the conditions, floats or boogie boards.

I love those bags too but wish that I could throw it in the washing machine. I bought a pink chevron bag from Garnet Hill and it is so pretty but maybe a tad too big. Plus, it can not go in the wash either. My beach essentials are lip balm, a hat, baby powder for sand removal and some snacks. Have a wonderful trip!

I have the same bag; long handles are nice. And I have washed mine in cold and hung to dry. It gets used for everything- mostly groceries over here! 🙂

Love this post! That beach hat is key for a busy beach mama :). Do you mind sharing what tent you ended up getting last year? I remember you debating, but I don’t remember if you posted what you decided on? We have 3 kiddos this year and we are definitely getting a tent.

I have that EXACT bag! it just went with us to Destin for the week!
In my beach bag- I have pretty much the same stuff you did!
Same sunscreen stick, a big can of coppertone sport spray sunscreen, a can of hawaiian tropic dry oil (to go with the sunscreen), a scarf for my hair and clips (I have shorter hair), a lightweight dress (coverup) my havaianas flip flops, a couple of Target beach towel as well, a bottled water, a few 100 calorie packs of crackers, our cell phones, point & shoot camera, and a bag for wet clothes, etc.

Erin,
Love the bag. I do highly recommend the LL Bean one with the long handles so you can carryit on your shoulders. It makes juggling the bag and kids easier. Do you just have an empty cup in there? I love that idea but have been taking water bottles and a cooler! Most importantly, where did you get that up? Can I get them in OH? Dear friend’s are HUGE Gamecock fans and even have license plates personalized with their love of the Gamecocks. Thats pretty rare in Buckeye Nation.

No joke, I have like probably 20 of those extra large Lands End tote bags. It’s my matching luggage. They are amazing and can hold anything!!
