1. How is it possible that I will have a three year old next week? This feels like it was just yesterday. It makes me want to cry.
2. We go to the beach next week with Todd’s parents and my parents. We’ll celebrate Hudson’s birthday there. I’m so excited to get away with everyone! I picked up the last of our “supplies” for the beach, including that funny looking flotation device for toddlers that goes around their torso and arms. And it has a scary little smiley face on it. Why does everything need a face?
3. I am planning on reading Twilight while I’m there. I’ve never seen any of the movies and I resisted them for long enough. But I need some books to read that I won’t be able to put down.
4. I started the Paleo diet today. I’m not feeling super grumpy about it yet. We’ll see how I feel after my training session in the morning. I’m hoping to have fewer headaches, more energy, and less bloating. Yay Paleo!
5. I’m determined to get a pedicure before our beach trip. I can suck it up and deal with being tickled as long as I can sit back, sip my wine, and read my magazine. I don’t like it when pedicurists want to chat it up the whole time.
6. I’ve got a slight case of writer’s block as if that wasn’t completely obvious. Hopefully something very exciting will happen this week for me to write about! Or not. I’m having a fun time with our low key days.
7. We walked to Walgreen’s from our house today. I loaded the boys up in the BOB and away we went. I had washed their car seat covers and they weren’t dry yet. So we couldn’t go anywhere in the car. The walk to Walgreen’s was fine- all downhill. The walk home was a doozy! But we made it, obviously.

Twilight books are better than the films. Don’t watch the films and you’ll never be ruined!
Need books for the beach?! You should read ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ by Jenny Han! Holy amazing beachy books! It’s a trilogy and all the books are out! I need a beach house after reading those books.
I need a pedicure in the worst way.
It does seem like only yesterday that I started following your blog! Hard to believe it’s been over three years!! 🙂
Oh, and that’s why I try to avoid pedicures, too. Not to be rude, but one of the reasons I go is not for conversation…. it’s to feel pampered. And when someone starts talking to me about anything & everything, I want to say “Please, just let me read my book.” 🙂
Enjoy Twilight! I resisted them for a long time, too, but I was hooked when I finally gave in. As in, I’ve read them all about 5 times!
Yea for Paleo! We are only 80/20 Paleo now but what a huge difference it has made!
Check out this site if you need some fun recipes!Yummy stuff!

I’m glad I’m not the only one that feels that way about pedicures! When I told a friend that once, she said it sounded elitest. But that couldn’t be farther from the truth. I want to be friendly, but gosh darnit my kids talk/whine to me all day long … can’t a girl get a little peace without seeming snobby?? I usually try to casually bring up the fact that I’m excited to.relax and read at the beginning of the appt and hope they take the hint ;). Enjoy!!
I can’t get over how great Paleo is. I started it to lose those last 8 pounds, and everything else seemed to fall into place too! My complexion is less rosy and I’m less tired in the afternoon. I can’t wait to hear what you think of it!
Have a great time at the beach 🙂
Yay for Twilight! 😉 You should have the first book by Wednesday. xo
Writer’s block can be a pain, but it sounds like there is something more important on your plate right now. Enjoy your family time, your pedi and your books. Btw, I really don’t like chatting it up at my pedis either. I want peace and quiet.=)The books are definitely better than the movies. The actors ruined it for me.=) I am reading my kids Harry Potter this summer, and reading the Hunger Games myself.
Happy {almost} birthday, Hudson! He looks like such a sweet, happy boy.
You will love Paleo. I started eating “Primal,” which is similar, a few weeks ago and it makes a world of difference. You don’t get the highs-and-lows that are associated with spikes and dips in blood sugar. And you still get plenty of fiber. There is definitely something to it!
Enjoy the beach!
Your nail salons let you have wine?? I need to move there lol. I hate making small conversation with the girl doing my feet – I just want to relax too. I’ve never really heard about the Paleo diet – so good luck with it (I’m going to research it now lol). Have fun at the beach!!
Yes, WHY does everything need a smiley face?! I was looking for the same type of flotation device for Kirsten (our 2-year-old) and found a plain pink and purple one at Walgreens of all places. Maybe they have non smiley faced boys’ ones too?
i’m loving your posts lately. they feel like summer: a little looser, bits of this and that, random (and oh so relatable) observations, adorable pictures and lots of family time.
i have cajun shrimp on my toes right now (thanks to your mention of it). i took a friend for a birthday pedicure last week. i love the salon i go to because it is super peaceful: no television, no music (that i recall), no chatter.
great giveaways lately! i’m missing out because i don’t do facebook – so can’t “like” anything, but love learning about new products. so many great gift ideas and options…
i also loved the pink t-shirt you had on in a recent post (with the bridier necklace). you have a knack for looking cute while still meeting your requirements for practicality.
have a great day miss erin!
I need to google the Paleo diet…never heard of it. Yay for a beach vacation on the horizon!
I cannnnnot believe the boys are going to be three! I am always looking for “things” without characters, faces, or randomness on them! Yay for beach time with the fam! Your description of what you’re hoping is the outcome of the Paleo diet sounds like things that I would love! 😉 I haven’t heard of it before you mentioned it, is it something I could do?? 😉 You know I love food!
I hope y’all have a great beach trip! I haven’t read Twilight, but I watched all of the movies around Christmas. I regret that I didn’t read the books first because everyone says they’re so much better than the movies and the movies were great!
Good luck with the paleo diet! My husband did it before our wedding and lost weight and had more energy. I just don’t think I could cut out cheese and carbs, those are my two favorite food groups! I’m sure I’d feel better if I cut them out, but I just don’t have that discipline 🙂
I live in your area and I don’t know where to go to have wine with my pedicure! Where do you go?
I liked the Twilight series. It’s horribly written, but I read them all really fast. They’re very good beach reads. Did you know 50 Shades of Grey was originally Twilight fan fiction? I saw a lot of similarities between Edward and Christian Grey and Bella and Ana and it all made sense once I knew that.
I can’t believe Hudson is 3 next week! Landon turns 1 on Sunday and I can’t believe that either. Time goes so fast!
Again. This is why I love your blog! I cannot stand talking it up with the nail tech either. After staying home with three babes I don’t want anyone to ask me anything when I’m getting a mani and pedi. You feel me? Have fun at the beach!!!
I’m totally curious about the Paleo diet!
We’re about to ship our van back to the States….and grocery shopping will be done by walking. At least I have no hills- just crazy drivers on the sidewalk! 🙂
Paleo diet – I had never heard of it! I just googled and am kind of excited – I think?! Going to try and see how I like it!
