a brain dump, er… explosion

1. Why didn’t I start using Certain Dri deodorant earlier? I’ve heard about it for years. Plenty of people told me how awesome it is. What in the world? I waited too long. This stuff works miracles, ladies, if you’re a sweater like I am. I have spent too many summers driving around with my hands at 12:00 because I need the air vents in my car to cool me off.

*Certain Dri did not pay me to say this. I just love Certain Dri!

2. Todd and I had a lovely anniversary dinner at Garibaldi’s last night. It was really crowded because USC graduations are going on this week. We both will shout from the rooftop that Garibaldi’s is our favorite restaurant, though. But last night, we both ate way too much and both felt sick on the way home. Never let two overtired parents go to a fancy pants restaurant without some spoken limit on how much dessert they can consume. Too much of a great thing really can be a bad thing. I think we’ll be fine eating our boring meals at home for a while.

3. I’m so thankful for blogging. I often look back on my blog to see what we were doing a year ago. I did this last night to see where we spent our anniversary in 2011. I was 38 weeks pregnant with Hayes and his birthday was two days later. But I never blogged about how we spent our anniversary. I really need to do a better job of documenting the daily things while still being able to journal my thoughts here.

4. What is going on with American Idol? First Colton and now Skylar? I’m so sad!

5. My house is party central right now. There are party supplies and decorations everywhere. I’ll say it again… I’m so thankful my mom is here to help me this week.

6. My neighbor is a hair stylist and I asked him if he could stop by one day this week and cut Hayes’s hair. Hayes’s hair isn’t all that long, but it had started to grow over his ears, but not really at all on top. Ha! So my neighbor came over tonight and gave him a trim in our kitchen. Beats the heck out of a $15-20 haircut for a baby.

7. Hayes went an entire day without any formula. I think we stopped formula cold turkey. I’m so excited! It’s like getting a pay raise. He eats so well now and eats everything we have him try. He really likes milk. We’re still giving him two bottles per day- one in the morning and one at bed time. I think we’ll plan to do that another month after his birthday and then take them away at 13 months.

I can’t wait to share party pictures with all of you and show you Hayes’s 12 month pictures. I hope you all have a great weekend!

I know the party will be great! I hope y’all have so much fun. Emmy is doing great on her whole milk too. I am dropping one bottle every 3 days, but I am reluctant to drop morning and night, as she just lurrrrrrves her bottles, BUT Moms on Call says do it cold turkey. Ha. I know she doesn’t “need” it, but I love that time of night with her cuddling with me. XO

I have often wondered about Certain Dri, but never knew anyone who tried it. Will definitely be giving it a try now – thanks for the rec! Us southern need some serious help combating southern humidity!

My house is party central too! My husband’s 30th birthday was yesterday, and his party is tomorrow, so I have all the supplies for that. Landon’s party is on June 2nd, and I have a bunch of stuff for his too. Half of our dining room table is unusable right now due to all the party stuff haha!

Can’t wait to see pictures from Hayes’ party!

Ha! I was at the bar at Garibaldi’s last night — must have just missed y’all (or didn’t see you in the throngs of people). Happy anniversary and happy birthday to sweet Hayes.

My husband and I love Garibaldi’s too! We tried it for the first the night we got engaged and it’s just hands down our favorite place to go. We haven’t found a place that beats it in 3 years!

I love blogging for the exactly same reason. I think that’s why I love the Iphone dump posts – because i will always look back on those fondly and remember exactly what life was like. ps- I loved certain dri but after a few months, it stopped working for me. Now it’s like a once a year for a month thing – I use it and i swear it has long term effects.

Its going to be such an awesome party!!! I cannot believe little Hayes is a year old! I actually went back to read my blog to see what I wrote the few weeks after Carsyn was born and ouch…I was a bit of a grump! But, I’m glad its documented- I like reading the good with the bad.
    Happy anniversary again!

Ahhhhh!!!! You should’ve announced a spoiler alert!! My hubby and I are always a day (or 2 or 3) behind on our DVR’d shows–including American Idol!! I’m so sad Skylar is gone! And now I have to pretend I don’t know when we watch the results show tonight! Oh what’s a girl to do?!
(Ok, so really I’m laughing at this right now….haha)

Certain Dri works so well… but it made me itch like CRAZY! Also, I had a hard time remembering to put it on before bed.

I can’t WAIT to see the pics from Haye’s party!

i’m glad you enjoyed your anniversary. a little too much it seems 🙂

happy almost birthday dear, sweet hayes! i can’t wait to see the pics from the party. i know it’s going to be so special – filled with love and family and your creativity.

i LOVE certain dri. love, love, love it. i use it whenever i’m in a play or if i have a shoot. i find myself sweating more from nerves and under the hot lights and lived in fear of ruining a costume or wardrobe while on set. certain dri to the rescue. i found the (liquid) roll on too irritating, so no i use the the (dry) push up.

Certain Dri works wonders! So does Drysol (a little more expensive but even better). If it’s itching and stinging alot that means you put on too much and you really have to be careful not to let it come in contact with fabrics. It will bleach them!
My coworker came to work one day and realized she had huge bleach circles under her arms because she put it on in the morning and thought it was dry. oops!

I can’t wait for Hayes birthday pictures either 🙂 Glad you had a great meal for your Anniversary, and I feel ya on eating like a glutton haha! We did the same over the weekend
