Gift-giving is my love language.
It is how I show the most special people in my life that I love them, appreciate them, and I’m proud of them. I use gifts to show people I love them.
It doesn’t have to be a big, elaborate gift. In fact, something as simple as an invitation to meet for coffee at Starbucks is a treat for me–and I know many mamas agree.
One of the things that meant the most to be after Hayes was born was a sweet friend who stopped by with my favorite Skinny Vanilla Latte and a bag of my favorite candy. She dropped by, gave me a hug, and gave me the little treats she had picked up for me. And just that simple little gift meant the world to me. Her thoughtfulness was written all over it.
My favorite way to pay tribute to my loved ones who are going through a special time (specifically when a new baby is born), is to prepare one of my favorite meals. I package it in disposable containers so they don’t have to worry about returning my dish. Then I’ll add in a salad and fix a dessert I know they’ll love. Comfort food goes a long way!
And then, for a little bonus, I pick up two Starbucks mugs and either Starbucks K-Cups or a bag of Starbucks whole bean coffee. If we can’t meet for a quick coffee date, I want to bring the coffee to her.
When Todd and I were dating, we were both working really late hours. Most nights, he’d work until 8:30, but we still wanted to see each other even though it was past dinner time. So we’d meet at Starbucks and talk until the store closed. We didn’t have a lot of time in those days to spend together, but we made time.
Thoughtfulness and just a little something extra go a long way. I love making cards to send to grandparents and making a favorite cake for my husband’s birthday.
Taking the extra time to do something for these special people always makes their day and shows them how much they are loved.

i write letters to those whom I want to celebrate – i love searching for just the right word or phrase to share my joy or gratitude with someone else!
Well you know me….I usually get them Starbucks because it’s my favorite gift of choice too ๐
I like to handmake things, to celebrate!
I can’t wait to bring dinner – and a favorite iced coffee – to a new mom friend! Her little girl was born last week, and I’m just waiting for the dust to settle a little before I stop by for a visit!

I like surprising people — an unexpected note, freshly baked cookies, their favorite candy, even just a text message to say I’m thinking about them. It’s nice to be thought of by someone you love.
And Starbucks doesn’t hurt either. It’s definitely my favorite thing ๐
Lately I’ve been giving my girl friends Essie nail polish. It’s just a little something, so they can pamper themselves.
I love to give little things as a thank you or thinking about you gifts. Usually something from the dollar isle from Target that has a funny meaning behind it
What a great giveaway. I would give this to my nanny because she loves taking my son to Starbucks. He has milk and she’ll have a coffee. As for gifts, we have a number of friends having babies soon. I’ve realized that it is the little things that matter…making their favorite dinner or dessert, organizing a playdate for their older child so the parents can rest, etc.
Alison
I have a colicky 2 month old and find that time is a precious commodity – it is sometimes all I can do to get our own dinner on the table! However, I love to send cards to friends and family with my heartfelt and sincere sentiments or words of encouragement…words are my love language, I think. Thanks so much for the opportunity to win this gc to Starbucks!
Gift-giving is my love-language as well – I just love to give people things that they are wanting or needing, and I love picking up little treasures for people and surprising them! I also send cards when people I love achieve or accomplish something – I think everyone loves getting real mail, and it’s so easy to drop a card in the mail!

Love it!! A good friend brought me Starbucks the other day for no reason ๐ and sometimes that is the best time!
I love sending cards in the mail!
I’ve always been a giver, and I found as the older I got more of my friends get homemade gifts we have made at home. My daughter loves to craft and they love getting something special that can last forever.
I’m a starbucks junkie…. Crossing my fingers!
I take a basket of goodies to the waiting room when someone is having surgery. Gives them some snacks, water, etc. while waiting on their family member that is in surgery.
so sweet! I love a good surprise and starbucks.
I love to bake so I always bake something special for my friends and family when they are going through hard times, are celebrating something, or just need a encouragement. I usually think about their favorite types of desserts (i.e. chocolate or fruit) and then bake them something creative and take it to them. I think cards/hand written notes are a wonderful way to pay tribute to somebody too. Getting mail can be a great pick-me-up.
I love to leave an unexpected note or card for someone – especially if they are feeling down and need a pick me up. I think that the gift card would be an awesome way to shower other people with all that Starbucks has to offer! I would love to use it for a couple of coffee dates with friends, my husband and even my mom.
I have a list of things that I know the special people in my life would like. I LOVE giving gifts, and get great pleasure out of searching out just the right thing for them and then surprising them at a special time. I think I like giving gifts more than I like receiving them!
I usually give the person their fav candy to celebrate their accomplishments, usually with a card.
I bring baked goodies a lot, but you definitely can’t beat a Starbucks drink from a friend!
I’m a big believer in handwritten cards. No one every sends mail anymore, so I try to always send a handwritten card congratulating someone, or whatever is appropriate, for their big moments.
I love giving gifts way more than I love getting them. I keep a google doc of possible present ideas all year long in anticipation of the holidays. My favorite gift is books- I adore picking books for people.
What a great giveaway! I’ll have to remember your coffee idea for my next friend that has a baby.

Starbucks? Yum, yes please!
I also bring dinner to new parents. I love giving unexpected gifts. Giving becuase you love them.
i love to send a card in the mail. i don’t hand write cards or letters often, so i think it’s a very special treat to give to someone…especially if you tuck a gift card inside. besides, who doesn’t like receiving snail mail that isn’t a bill?! ๐
a hand written card!
I love to send cards through the mail, I think it’s so fun to get a fun piece of mail instead of bills or junk! I also love to bake so freshly baked cookies or bread are another way to show someone I care.
Love real hand written notes.
I love to send little note cards just to say hi… everyone loves getting non-junk mail!!
My husband is a seminary student and we currently live in a small apartment. With that being said, we still love to use our small space as a way to invite friends and family into our home and share a meal with them. There is something so special and simple about sitting around a table together, laughing, eating and investing time into others lives. There are so many opportunities to encourage and uplift others during such an intimate time! Our home might be small but we love using it to love on others with!

Starbucks is my fav “splurge” for myself, so anytime I can meet a gf for coffee is extra special!
I love to fix a meal for someone or buy them a giftcard to their favorite restaurant. I also love sending cards in the mail for no reason other than to say “you are a blessing and I’m thankful for you.”.
I love to cook his favorites for my husband.
I try to send handwritten notes to friends and family. As I’ve gotten older, I try to be more thoughtful. I feel like I’ve been a recipient of so many kind hearted gestures and I wanna pay it forward.
I am a firm believer in handwritten notes and homemade treats!
I love to do homemade meals for new parents. ITs so easy to just double what I’m making for dinner and take a nice dish and dessert t help them out.
I love giving homemade treats! I think they are the best gifts :).
I love to put together a little gift bag of favorite items or things I know they will love. I love those little unexpected “gifts” too. It makes me happy to see my loved ones happy!
Sometimes I send cards of congratulations and other times I’m in charge of the food! Thanks for the great giveaway.
I like to tell those people how proud I am of them! I like to give hugs too ๐
What a great giveaway, yay!!!
I still love sending cards and handwritten notes – I feel like things like that are even more meaningful now that the whole world revolves around e-mail, texting, Facebook, Twitter, etc.

I love doing little things for others– baking something just for fun, writing a “thinking of you” card in my declining handwriting, or babysitting for some friends’ little one to give them a date night opportunity.
i LOVE starbucks!! Thanks for the giveaway ๐
I would love this and would give it to my hubby who’s been working so hard.
I love to give handwritten notes and cookies.
I love to send cards in the mail!
My boyfriend and I give eachother small ‘I love you presents’ all the time. It could be a small bag of gummy bears or a new pen, but I think gift giving is our love language too ๐
I always try to give a gift the other person will like. Sometimes, when I am simply out of ideas, I get them a gift card to a store that they are sure to go to or one they often frequent. But the best is always a care package or basket or pretty bag filled with items picked up just for them.
Erin, THANK YOU for a generous giveaway!
What a great giveaway! I love snail mail – and it’s extra special with a little gift card included! ๐
I love to bake and give out all the yummy treats. On some occasions I send a card to congratulate them ๐

A home-cooked meal or just some home-baked treats are special ways to say congratulations or thank you.
When my kids get a good report card, we take them out to the store so they can pick out a gift.
I like to bring them a Starbucks drink (especially a frapuccino on a hot day), their favorite candy, a handwritten note, or just write encouragement on their Facebook wall!
Love writing (and getting) handwritten cards- just because!
I’m a gift giver, too! Maybe a small note in the mail, dinner out, or a gift card as congrats!!
The random simple gift, hug, or even quick call to let them know I am thinking of them.

I love preparing meals for those who just had a baby or for funeral dinners at church. It’s an act of service that really goes a long way!
To celebrate others’ accomplishments, I love spending time with them and enjoying the moment. I would say my love language would be time. ๐
I think sending cards in the mail is a great way to encourage someone!
I too love to buy gifts and love to bake for people.
I verbalize my thoughts/love to people…always texting/emailing/calling/Facebooking to let people know I’m thinking of them ๐
To me its the little thoughtful things that are the most special. I love stopping by with starbucks and a their favorite candy bar (or a diet coke for my non coffee drinking family members) after a particularly rough work day. If its a big occassion like a birth, I try to think of something that would be helpful – dinner, babysitting a sibling, etc. For my sister when she had my niece, my mom was there helping and I knew she was laid up in bed for a while so she got a love package with new nail polish, gossip magazines, new jammies, and her favorite movie. Making it personal and individual (not expensive) is the way I like to go! Thanks for this opportunity!
I send cards! People love it and it does not take a whole lot of extra time!
I also give gifts. I love a gift that you know someone put thought into.
I try to either send a note (if it’s something I’ve seen someone do that was noteworthy, something I’ve really appreciated, etc) or prepare a meal (for parents with a new baby). I’m less comfortable preparing a meal, but I know how much I appreciated it when folks brought us meals!
Great giveaway! I show love with food, and love making a special dinner for my friends and family.
https://twitter.com/#!/momsmagic/status/180307354762485761
I tweeted about your giveaway!
I try to do something special that I know that person will appreciate. It might be offering my help at work, bringing my husband a Starbucks coffee when he is stuck at work all day, or even sending a handwritten note.
I love to bake something special for my friends, family, etc…especially if I know their favorite treat. I also like to package it in a cute container or fun plastic plate from Target that they can keep as an added bonus.
I post greeting cards or send e-cards to friends far away, and for closer folks it’s always a meal out to celebrate.
I love sending hand-written cards to my friends and family in other cities and sometimes adding a little Starbucks card as a treat!
I love doing things that are simple, personal, and maybe unexpected. A handwritten note with their favorite treat just put on the hood of their car so when they come out from work they are surprised….or watching my friend’s kids so they can celebrate an accomplishment by having dinner with their husband.
I’m definitely a gift giver as well. Currently, I’m living in a city far away from many of my best friends. Several of them have gotten engaged recently, and since I can’t be there to celebrate with them right now, I send along a bottle of wine and wine glasses so I can help toast their engagement.
I’m also a gift giver, even if it’s just a little note and a piece of candy I think it can go a long way to brighten someone’s day!
I love to make personalized cards on Hallmark’s website! I’m a card giver from way back, but I just love to see people’s faces when they get a card with a special picture or their name on the front! They always ask – how did you do that??? My Secret! ;o)
I do the same as you when good friends welcome babies – i prepare a couple wholesome meals and add in some snacks and beverages to the care package too…just so that they don’t have to go to the grocery store for a few days! I love that your friend dropped by with a latte – a lovely gesture. I will have to try that!
I love love love sending “real” letters and cards in the mail. Snail mail is so much better than an email and such a fun surprise ๐ I’d love to win.. starbucks is my happy place!
My love language is definitely gift giving too. I love spending time to pick out the perfect present for someone.
Starbucks is actually a special place to me, because my fiance and I have spent quite a bit of time there over the years that we’ve been together, just meeting up for a quick coffee break during the workday or enjoying each other’s company and sipping on iced coffees for a while in the evening at our local Starbucks. In fact, we often surprise each other with a treat, such as Starbucks, when one of us has had a busy, stressful, or even exciting day. Its just our thing.
My favorite thing to do is to send cards in the mail on pretty stationary. I love getting real mail and hopes other people enjoy it as much as I do
I always prepare a full meal from entree to dessert and put it in disposable containers. The last thing that I want to do is give someone more work! I’m also a pretty big fan of gifting gift cards though and do it all the time. I love making them more special by adding a personal touch like a card to a restaurant with a note that says “A free night of babysitting” to accompany the card.
I love giving gifts! I also LOVE hand written Thank You notes for little things.
I love to pay tribute by inviting people over for a home cooked meal. Most of my friends are either single and don’t cook often or young moms, who often need a break. I love to pull out the china and serve up an awesome meal!
I love to pay tribute by leaving little notes in lunch bags, wallets, etc!
I absolutely love Starbucks and not having to pay for my drinks for a while would be great!
I would love to win!!!!
I like taking people homemade treats as well. Or putting together a little basket of their favorite things for a little pick-me up
I love to bake so I usually bake up a special treat.
i like to sew handmade appliques on baby’s onesies or bibs for an easy sweet thoughtful gift for a new momma. anything handmade is so much more special to me ๐
Gift giving is my love language too. I love to make something homemade for that special person. Something as simple as cookies can really make someone feel special.
I love to send cards…nothing better to me than getting ‘snail mail’, so I like to share it! Also, I like to bake their favorite cake and give it in a disposable pan so they don’t have to worry about returning it. It is such a blessing to me to be a blessing to someone else ๐
I’m a words of encouragement girl, so I send cards. And, I LOVE Starbucks!!!
Tweet-tweet! ๐
I love helping others. It’s the greatest way to show you care.
As bad as I think it is to link food to a reward, I find myself making favorite foods to celebrate accomplishments with friends and family! Everyone seems to like getting a favorite meal or goodie!
I’m in grad school, so picking up coffee for someone is one of my favorite ways to show them how much I care. ๐
Growing up, my family always printed signs that were hung on the mantle and wrote small notes to be placed strategically around the house (on your toothbrush, near the coffee maker, on the television remote). It has been our way of making a small gesture to celebrate big milestones, small feats, or other special occasions. In fact, there is currently a sign hanging on the mantle as I type this! ๐
I love writing a note – actual pen and paper snail mail kind of note = ) If they are not well/just had a baby/etc; I am with you on the meal but with an added touch – dessert that they like, coffee, etc;
I love making homemade cards out of scrapbook paper and sending them with a short note. In this day and age where technology is so prevalent snail mail goes a long way in brightening up someone’s day.
I blogged about the giveaway, too! http://forthelaughter.blogspot.com/2012/03/starbucks-giveaway.html

I love to give homemade gifts that shows my friends I really take the time to think of something meaningful!
I celebrate with foodโฆbut the weather is getting nicer and having a frappuccino with special people and chat away is ideal.
Nothing better than a handwritten note. Also, you can’t go wrong with a homemade meal.
I like to treat my family/friends to a special dinner out somewhere for an achievement. If it is something like a new baby, I just like to be able to go over and help out around the house or run a much needed errand for them.
I honor people by writing a nice card that tells them the things I appreciate and love about them.
I love to send “just because” greeting cards. Because how often does anyone receive a card that isn’t for Christmas or a birthday? It’s nice to let people know I’m thinking of them and everyone loves to get mail!
we get together and plan a nice big dinner with family and friends on sundays and drink lots of wine!:) so fun!

I also love giving tangible gifts, but since having a baby and quitting my job last year, money is a little tight! So these days I am all about handwritten notes. I know how much thoughtful notes mean to me, so I hope those receiving them from me feel the same way!
Also, I blogged about the promotion here: http://slcnewlyweds.blogspot.com/2012/03/sign-me-up.html
I totally agree on paying tribute and recognizing people with food – I wish they had a love language for that! I’ll toast to Starbucks for the giveaway; thanks for hosting!
Before I moved half-way across the country, I loved to drop off packages of simple sweet gifts to friends and family experiencing life changes (be it baked goods, casseroles, or a special little SBux giftcard). Now that most of my friends and family are too far away to deliver a home cooked dinner, I have been trying to send more cards during holidays and events (like Thanksgiving, Easter, birth of child, death of parent). I suppose including a gift card inside would be a great addition. I also want to send some brownies to a friend who is soon to have her second child, but I haven’t attempted to ship/mail baked goods just yet.
I’m all about greeting cards!
i love sending unexpected gifts or notes in the mail!
I pay tribute to my husband by leaving him notes around the house or in his lunch to let him know how much I appreciate him and love him! He would be equally as thrilled as I to win a Starbucks gift card!
I love sending the people I love surprise gifts in the mail. Usually a collection of small things that I know they will love and that mean more because they are receiving it out of the blue.
I walk to Starbucks on my way to the park with my boys at least 3 times a week. Winning this would make my husband very happy ๐
Either a Meal or a handwritten Card!!
I like to give a card and some homemade cookies or bread.
And I blogged about it too: http://katylynneloves2.blogspot.com/2012/03/for-love-of-starbucks.html
I got too excited and never answer the question! I love to drop off home cooked meals! I love having a night off from cooking so I love giving others a night off too!
I love to make food for people! It can be a meal for a new mom and her family, or a special treat for a friend who is having a particularly rough week.
I love having “mini parties” for people with a theme- a Mexican fiesta or an Italian get together. It’s fun for me and I think it makes my friends and husband feel special to be honored that way.
Hey girl! I LOVE the written word! I am a huge words of affirmation person so when someone takes the time to write me a card letting me know how much the love, appreciate, or how they are thankful for me, I just eat it up! I tend to do the same for others since I know how it makes me feel:)
Oh the damage you and I could do with $100 to Starbucks while the kids are in pre-school:)
I love to give and receive handwritten notes!
I love Starbucks, and if I win the gift card, then each time I use it I will buy a drink for the person behind me in line.
I love giving homemade gifts, but don’t usually have the time. I also enjoy sending encouraging messages through facebook or texts. It’s a simple way to lift people up and show them how much you mean to them.
I like to send little notes to tell people that I am thinking of them.. and everyone loves an unexpected Starbucks card!!!

My favorite gifts to give are homemade treats. Today I shared some Oreo cake balls with my neighbors and my husband’s secretary. My favorite gifts to GET are Starbucks giftcards : ).
I’m a big card sender. I like to send cards with a note to my friends just because. I think that most of us love getting a hand written note since we’re all so wrapped up in email and texting.
I like to send a handwritten note. Especially since it’s not something that we do much of anymore.
I love cooking for others. To me there’s something so special about making a hot meal for someone you care about.
I love to bake treats for people!
My favorite thing to do for people is bake – cookies, cakes, anything sweet!
I like giving small gifts and baking for people. I keep a lot of notes about who likes what too, so when I bake I can make sure it’s something they will actually enjoy!
gifts is my love language, too! i love to just pick up simple things that i know will have meaning to the person receiving the gift. if i know they love starbucks, i’ll pick up treats from there; my husband loves little handwritten notes and cards so i try to sneak those in so they surprise him when he finds them in unexpected places. sometimes it’s not about a “thing” but about spending time with the people who mean the most to me to let them know they’re important.
I don’t know anyone who doesn’t love a Starbucks! What great gift ideas!
I love to give personalized gifts for special occasions. Since we are in youth ministry we celebrate lots of high school graduations each year, so I’ll monogram something special for them to have as they branch out on their own!
We love having homemade meals to celebrate special occasions. There is something special about gathering around a table with all your loved ones!
Big hugs, a favorite meal and love notes
I love sending cards to people. I could spend hours upon hours in Hallmark looking for that one perfect card that says it all!! Something about getting a card in the mail from a dear friend puts a smile on my face!

LOVE starbucks. Somehow a chai latte makes my day whenever I have one. I usually cook a big meal for friends as celebration. I have them over so they don’t have to worry about cleaning up in advance for me, let them eat to their heart’s content and kick them out before they start trying to help clean!
food it’s always food or a note ๐
i love to bake cookies or any other kind of treat, send a thoughtful card or surprise with Starbucks lattes ๐
I’m a big gift card giver because I love recieving them myself!
Oh my word, how I would love this giftcard…When someone I love does something that I want to celebrate, I buy them a book. A journal, a fiction book that I feel like just sums up their experience, an educational book..any book will do. As a book lover, this is the best gift I can give them.
I write a poem and share it out loud at a birthday, retirement, anniversary, or any event. The poem is funny, touching and it always rhymes. Sounds challenging, but it’s actuall really fun. I always give the person a copy of the poem after I read it! Sometimes they even ask me to email it to them so they have an e-copy!
I love to send people beautiful cards. I try to think of a heartfelt message to write inside. People love getting fun mail!
I like to make a home cooked meal to show others I care about them. It’s the Southern way!
Hey there! I think this is such a sweet give away. My baby sister is going through a divorce. Every morning I text her a quote with an inspirational message to remind her that she is strong and that she is loved and going to be ok. If I won this giveaway I’d give this gift card right to her. xoxo
I like to send flowers to people on a random day, just to let them know they are special! Or a yummy dessert ๐

I like to give something personal such as a handwritten note on a homemade card, or {as you mentioned} a little goodie basket of their favorite treats. I think the little reminders are so important, just to acknowledge how much a person means to you!
So agree that a small Starbucks gift card or cup of coffee can brighten anyone’s day!

A little note is my favorite way to let someone know I am thinking of them!
I love to have my girls (17 month old twins) “make cards” for people, which is usually some tapped dots and scribbles on some scrap paper! I usually include these with a card or gift from me, and I think it adds a personal touch from our little family!
I love to bake a special treat!
As a teacher I see a lot of students who don’t get any type of special attention for their birthdays. On the first day of school I always ask the students to write down their favorite birthday treat. On their birthday I write a special note about them and leave their treat on the their desk. It’s not a whole lot but it’s something they look forward to and enjoy!
I love sending flowers or a little gift from red envelop.
Something handmade is what I like to do. Whether it’s cookies, a card or a nice small gift.
I love to send a card in the mail… I think it is the perfect pick me up ๐ And if I have time, I love leaving a small bag of goodies at work for my friends to get them through a particular time.
I love making them baked goods!
I love making new moms dinner, dessert and breakfast the next morning. Plus it’s a good excuse to drop in and see the new baby. ๐
I come from a large family so we love doing big family dinners to celebrate whenever we can. For my friends I like to send cards through snail mail, get coffee, or a simple mommies night out.
A sweet note or card is thoughtful and nice. I also like to bake for friends and family.
Gifts are my love language, too. I love noticing a little something someone mentions in passing and going back to the store and picking it up for them. I love their face when they see that I took notice of something that was important to them.
I’m not the best cook so I often bring treats from our local cookies shop to loved ones. Every holiday, we deliver frosted sugar cookies to all the little ones in our life.
I usually cook dinner and take it to my neighbors when I know they have had a busy week so that they can relax. They enjoy a night off from making dinner!

For Valentine’s Day, I gave some of my girlfriends Starbucks cards! ๐ They are perfect for any occasion!
I usually write my friends and family letters or send them a card. I also like to cook my friends and family special meals or dessert!
This is very thoughtful. I’ve seen sacrifice and giving. This is a warm gesture that will perk everyone’s day up regardless if they win or lose.
i cook that special someone’s favorite meal and bring it to them! i have a major sweet tooth, so i’ll definitely bake them something sweet to go with the meal.
<3 starbucks
I’m a letter writer. Whether it’s in the perfect card that I find or just on stationary, there is nothing I love more than pouring my heart out to the ones I love on paper. Plus, who doesn’t love getting a handwritten letter in the mail?
I love to bring someone a nice home-cooked meal or a little bag of one of their favorite treats!!
I do things for people — usually cook, but sometimes errands or chores – anything to make their life easier/smoother when they are busy.
If I won some Starbucks, I’d take people coffee ๐
I love to put little notes in my husband’s lunchbox, whether to celebrate his achievements or boost his mood during a bad week. Just a little something to say I’m thinking of you and I get what you’re going through.
When my kids were little, I wrote notes in their lunches and tucked notes into their luggage when they went away for camp. Now I send them facebook messages. I think they still appreciate a little note from their mom. ๐
I love to cook meals for people and bring a special dessert! People always appreciate it so much!
I love baking people something they love as a gift. I also always remember the small things people may say in conversation and then take that information and turn it into a gift for them.
i love doing/making things for people, espcially my husband. when he is stressed at work or just because i love to make him a special breakfast as a suprise or take care of easy things for him…something like that. my absolute favorite thing is to make someone feel loved!
I bake as a way of showing my love, appreciation, support, etc. I keep track of my friends’ favorites so I can bake their favorite things. All of the preparation behind the finished product (deciding what to bake, baking, packaging, and delivering) is all time for me to think about how much that person means to me (or why I am baking for them).
I love to give gifts as well! I love to do something special for each person – for my husband, it might be a new bottle of red wine to try together. For a friend, a Starbucks date or something for their home! ๐

I like to write them a sweet card or note. I think this is the most heartfelt way to tell anyone something
I love to cook and bake for people. A homemade lasagna or a few dozen cookies is always much appreciated!
Great giveaway! My love language are gifts too. ๐
I love to send friends/family hand written cards in the mail. These days it’s so easy to send someone an e-mail, text, facebook message…and the list goes on. But to know someone took the time to write down their thoughts and feelings in a card and send it to me means so much. I enjoy doing it for others.
It depends – sometimes I like to write a note, make/bring over/go out for a meal, make time for pampering or get a little gift.
*Super fun giveaway! Thank you!!
I have a handful of GREAT friends who I know so well. Each are such unique individuals and I know all of their favorite goodies. I tend to put together a little bit of their favorites into a care package. I’m also a photographer and take tons of pics of their kids…so I’ll go in and edit one of my favorites and frame it and give that as a gift — they do seem to be the favorite! ๐
I pay tribute to my mother and my dad who past some years back by showing them i love them and spending time with them best i could.

I try to honor those close to me by doing little things each day to make their lives a little easier and happier. I will do the dishes for my roommates, cook dinner for a friend, pick up the tab, compliment them, any little thing that will subtly make their day better. I hope that by doing this frequently, their overall happiness will increase more than if they were to get a big gift one time.
I recognize my friends and family’s achievements by buying them and gift and treating them to a special dinner.

I honor and celebrate my families accomplishments by using the red plate that says “you are special today”. I serve meals to that person on the plate and we write on the bottom what we are celebrating and the date so we can look book.
I like to give little gifts or bake treats or mail a note. Just a little something so my loved one knows I am thinking of them.
*thank you for the giveaway! I <3 SBUX!!
Lots of cookies!
My tribute is to make sure that my daughter knows her great-grandparents as well as family that she doesn’t see very often. I tell stories and show pictures all of the time. She should know where she is from.

Call me old-fashioned but I love to send cards and/or flowers to friends for accomplishments and achievements. For instance, a friend recently got a new job and I sent her flowers on her first day to celebrate. With so much emphasis on electronic communication, it has become a refreshing suprise to receive a handwritten letter or a bouquet of flowers.
I love to leave cards on my friends’ doorsteps when they least expect it!
I love giving cards for occasions like that, but also small little gifts related to the goal or accomplishment. If it’s a new job, then a gift card to a store to get some fun work clothes, or a starbucks card to get coffee on their way to work.
My family is big on giving cards. We love giving each other cards for even the smallest celebrations. It is so nice to be remembered or recognized and who doesn’t love getting mail that isn’t bills? I also love baking for people so that is another way to show I care. I get my baking fix but then I get to give it away!
I like sending baked goods to friends and family members who live far away. I try to do this for major holidays and birthdays, but also random “just because” days to remind the people near and dear to me how special and loved they are!
I love to send cards “just because” celebrating friends and family!
I usually write a card with little gift
https://twitter.com/#!/HappyTina0115/status/182264574916042754
For those nearby, I bring a meal. For those far away, I send a letter or card.
I love gift giving– my mom calls the little gifts “little happies”. Since Drew’s love language is words of affirmation, I will generally write letters to him if he’s achieved something or if I want to say “I love you”.
My love language is to mail a card or leave a little note or send a text. My dad used to leave me sweet little notes before school and I think I’m like him
I love writing notes/cards and mailing them to loved ones! It’s always so fun to receive snail mail!!
I do through the stomach! Cooking and baking!
Our church group of girls take meals to our circle when they have babies and I always take some super awesome dessert….everybody enjoys a good chocolate trifle! Love this sweet giveaway
I definitely love to cook and bake for those I want to honor, thank, or show that I am thinking about them. I also love to include handwritten notes and anything that will help to make life a little easier for them.

Maybe I show my gratitude by finding free time to spend with people I love. From time to time, I invite them for dinner, we go to a coffee shop or we just go for a walk. it’s simple, no matter how busy schedule you have, you should find some time for people you care about. I am a HUGE card person. I send ecards for everything and paper cards for special things or to people that don’t have email! Example: my hubby just got a new job after dealing with being told he was going to be laid off at the end of April. The job search was harsh and unfair (was looking for a transfer within the same company) and he worked SO hard and was on top of everything like a mad man! I sent him a ecard telling him how much I appreciate him and how proud of him I am, got him a paper card too, and posted stuff on his Facebook wall as well — All singing his praises! LOL That’s how I roll! LOL

This is wonderful. I love hearing others’ ‘love languages’. Mine is words of affirmation, so that’s how I speak love too, I am encouraging with my words. But I also love food, love to cook and love to cook food for people. So blessing others with a home-cooked meal is a great way that I can pay tribute to them. Your idea of adding coffee is perfect!
To pay tribute to others I like to do something nice for them – depending on what they like, buy a present, give them a bottle of wine, make a nice dessert for them. Just depends on who it is.
I LEAVE LITTLE NOTES AS GESTURES. I’VE ALWAYS DONE THAT. IT FEELS GOOD TO BE RECOGNIZED & IF I NEEDED THE RECOGNITION, I’D LOVE TO RECEIVE A NOTE- SO I GUESS THAT’S WHY I DO IT =)

I will definitely always send a card with a note when someone has accomplished a goal or has a special day.
I love to send out funny/sarcastic cards for special occasions – never anything serious. I love to get a good reaction.
Special Meal or doing fun that they like to do…
I’M A HUGE STARBUCKS FAN FOR YEARS !
Oh yes, a simple card for different things… with little things in them, sometimes money, sometimes the special candy I know a kids loves, or jewelry!
Sometimes we do simple outings- something the celebrated person loves to do!
Simply remembering to say thanks to everyone who touches my life is a good way to live.
An attitude of gratitude.
Thanks for the contest.

I like to make quilts for special people. A simple train quilt for the son of a friend, a retro neon colored pieced quilt for a granddaughter graduating from high school or a quilt with a fish motif for the guy who thinks he’s a world class fisherman. Each one was made for the special interest of the person and that makes all the difference.
