'Tis the Season to Be Kind

Good afternoon, my friends! Is it the most wonderful time of the year, or what?

I absolutely love Thanksgiving and Christmas. November is my birthday month and as soon as November 1st hits, I just get in the spirit. I love the colors of the leaves, the promise of great times with friends and family, amazing food, and a time of year to reflect on all the reasons that we should give thanks.

But it’s also a time of year to give back. We should be thinking of ways that we can give back and help others all year long, but something about this time of year reminds us to think of others.

My dear friend, Nina, and I were brainstorming about a month ago about ways that we can give back this season. Our list just grew and grew and we decided to make a printable for you all in case you’re looking for ideas.

The list has 25 ways to give back and be kind. Some of the items are the simplest things you can think of, but make such a difference to the person you’re helping. I hope I can be intentional this season about helping others and focus less on myself and my family and more on others.

Together (with the help of fabulous designer Kelly Ashworth), we created Erin and Nina’s 25 Acts of Kindness List. Please feel free to download this and print it for your personal use!

I love this idea! Just saved to my computer. I have been thinking recently what I can do, especially this time of year besides the usual.

I’ve also been having the thought of doing 30 kind things in anticipation of turning 30 in april

So many great ideas!!! I wrote a post on my “Spreading the Thanks To-Do” list several weeks back, and I’m well on my way to completing most of what’s on my list. I’ve gathered all the clothes for the shelter, but just need to make the delivery, and our “Toys for Tots” loose change fund is already totaling $22…okay, I did throw a few extra dollars in here or there. I love scavengering the hubby’s pants pockets for change every night and hope that by December 1st we have enough money in the fund to buy several great presents for the “Tots”. I paid for the person behind me at Starbuck’s last week. Hope it brightened their day, because it made me feel warm and fuzzy to do it:)

Yay! This is sucha great idea- especially considering how self-involved I have been lately (which is totally a by-product of pregnancy that I did not think would happen to me!).

Love this! I was posting a list of our family advent when I saw your and According To Nina’s post. I am definitely going to incorporate this into our Advent calender some how! Thank you for sharing. It is so much better to give than to receive. Imagine the impact we can make if we all take part in doing this! 🙂

This is a really great idea! I am hosting my third annual holiday cookie swap next month and decided to ask my guests to bring an unwrapped toy as well, and then I will bring them all and donate them to Toys for Tots this year. I love doing little things like that!

This is awesome! I needed to see something positive this week with all the PSU drama going on. I think we could ALL stand for a little more outward kindness in our lives. Printing out now!
