pinnable me friday: libraries!

It’s Friday and I’m linking up with Stefanie from Paw Prints and Pastry Bags for Pinnable Me!

Once again, Pinterest is having embed issues so I’ve just had to take screen shots and link back to the original source. I’m sorry I can’t help you with “repinning.”

This week I am loving libraries. Home libraries, old beautiful libraries, photos of people in libraries. I even created a “libraries” board on Pinterest because there’s just something about the smell of a library and the tradition of the whole thing. I kind of want to start tap dancing around the library and singing “Marian the Librarian” from The Music Man!

This home library is gorgeous and so cozy. I love the frames hung on the outside of the bookshelves.

This girl is so cute with her striped shirt, ponytail, tennies, and glasses. It looks like such a relaxing Saturday afternoon.

This may just be the best idea ever! I love the windows in this library and love that it’s floor to ceiling books on every wall. What a great little room for kids and adults!

This has been one of my favorite library photos for a long time. I just love the books arranged by color. I did this with some of my cookbooks, but I wish I had this many books to really make a rainbow in the room. I adore the pillows on the couch and the turquoise vases. And of course the darling pug who looks like he’s ready to pounce!

Such a great bookshelf arrangement. The silhouette lamp is fantastic and I adore the wooden monkey hanging from it!

What did you pin this week?

What DIDN’T I pin this week!!! I’ve been looking up St. Patrick’s Day theme party ideas for my baby girl’s first birthday party…which isn’t until March! Ha! I love Pinterest and now I’m addicted to Polyvore too!

LOVE that rainbow library. I tried to organize our books like that in the new house, but J totally put his foot down. He said that color is no way to organize books. What does he know?

I’m a librarian so your post really warms my heart and makes me smile 🙂 I can never get enough of libraries! I think I need to get a print made of that quote and hang it in my office at work! Love, love, love!

I pinned about birthday parties for guys this week because my husband’s 30th birthday is this month and I need ideas 🙂

I think it has not been long enough since I’ve been out of grad school because the sight of a library makes me nervous and wonder if I have all of my homework done 🙂

Hi! This is my first time commenting here, but I have been a long-time reader. I love your blog! I just signed up for Pinterest this week and am hooked! I am saving pictures for our kitchen/living remodel update as well as clothing ideas for my daughter for the fall.

Great post!!! I’ve spent hours in my hometown librbary this summer! I’m a book nut and I agree, there’s just something special about a librbary!
We are starting on our house soon and the library is a big part of it!!! I can’t wait for the big rolling ladder so I can access to even the highest shelves!
I don’t know if you watch “Downton Abbey”, but I’m a huge fan of that library style! Old English and beautiful!!!

I have resisted the urge to join Pinterest. I just have way too much on my plate to get pulled into what I know would be another time zapper right now. I love the rainbow library though!

    Good afternoon from New Orleans!

Erin, I’ve been spending this past week catching up on your lovely blog~and believe me I am stunned at how much I’ve missed. Moving back to the US from Japan has been a little crazy! In any case, congratulations to sweet Hayes on his three month milestone, thank you for the inspiration concerning organizing my head and home, and I apreciate the reminder to get back onto Pinterest!

Libraries and books hold such special memories for myself and my children. Having your own little book nook~even if it’s just a chair by a window~makes the act of reading that much more enjoyable. Here’s to hoping you and your sweet boys spend many of these hot summer days enjoying some good books of your very own!

    Warmly,

    Elizabeth

I repinned a few of these library photos that you pinned, actually! I just adore them, and have a pinboard called “library love!” I should be a librarian, but am not….though think about it often! I wish I’d done a Masters of Library Science, rather than the two that I do have!

I also pinned a few photos of corgis, my favorite kind of dog, a few crafty ideas and some kitchen-y things, and recipes to try!

Love this! Growing up, when given the choice, I always opted for the libraries and book stores rather than the toy stores. Even now, I can’t go into a book store without spending at least an hour and buying at least one book. I can’t get enough! Your picture of the multi-level library was always my dream room (even if it is completely unrealistic unless you live in a castle).
