these are my confessions

I haven’t done one of these in a few weeks, so I guess I’m due.

1. I am addicted to Words With Friends. I got addicted while I was in the hospital and didn’t have the attention span to read or watch TV, so I just played Words With Friends. Love it! Wanna play?

2. I have stretch marks. They showed up about a week ago. Super sad day. But… my linea negra hasn’t made its appearance yet, so at least I have that going for me. Except the stretch marks are permanent and the linea negra fades over time. Boo to stretch marks. I wasn’t planning on ever wearing a bikini again anyway.

3. Ever since the kidney infection episode, I am terrified of a repeat infection. So every single time I wake up during the night, I get up to use the restroom. Last night, I got out of bed seven times. Seven!

4. I am wearing a purple maxi maternity dress today. I am one hundred percent positive that nothing in my maternity wardrobe makes me look bigger than this dress, but it is comfortable. I have gotten a few compliments while wearing it, but I kind of get the impression that people say, “you look so cute” because they know they can’t say, “whoa mama!” Just a couple more weeks.

5. I sat down to make an Easter wreath last night because I’m feeling festive. I have these adorable eggs and bought a grape vine wreath and some really cute ribbon. And then I just couldn’t get the hot glue to make everything stick together. I called my mom, the wreath master, and she told me I should be using floral wire. So I just gave up on the wreath for 2011 and will revisit it in 2012. I decided to put the eggs in these fun Willow House hurricanes and a bowl instead. It works for now.

6. I still haven’t gotten our baby swing or infant car seat out of storage. Not exactly sure what I’m waiting for.

7. Hayes’s nursery isn’t finished either. Poor guy. In my defense, Hudson’s wasn’t finished until the night before I went into the hospital, so I guess it’s normal for us. I think I’m just waiting on my mom to arrive to put the finishing touches on everything.

8. I’m afraid Hudson may be a bossy kid. When I picked him up at school today, one of my friends’ little boys was crying and Hudson kept saying “no no,” “stop,” and “hush” to him. Kind of funny. Kind of bossy.

Do you have any confessions for today?

Oh my- I am so addicted to Words With Friends that its not even funny! My husband thinks I have a serious problem. I think he’s just jealous because he doesn’t have the app!

  2. says

It’s ok to be bossy! Bossy is a sign of confidence. P is as bossy as they come. As am I. 🙂

Confession: I had an oreo mcflurry two days in a row.

  3. says

The eggs look adorable in the hurricane vase and bowl. I’m sure you have plenty to do without making the wreath this year! I just got my iPad last night but I’m already a fan of Words With Friends. If you want to beat a rookie, I’ll play! MBattles

  4. says

My husband LOVESSS words with friends. He’s soo addicted to that game. Every morning I wake up to him playing it and every night he lies in bed playing it. :)’ I’m sure you look beautiful in your maternity gown! As long as it’s comfortable…Who Cares!!

  5. says

True story #1: I’m terrified of stretch marks. Absolutely terrified. I have a couple from growth spurts throughout my life and I detest them more than anything.

True story #2: I bet you look really cute in your maxi dress. I think you make such a beautiful pregnant lady. I bet every where you go people whisper about how cute you look. I would if I saw you IRL (instead I just tweet it to you – haha).

  6. says

LOVE! Words with friends! I’m also worried I have a bossy little one! I try not to fret, though. I feel like all things…good and bad…are phases right now! Don’t worry too much about getting stuf done. Just relax and take care of yourself. 🙂

  7. says

haha, that cracks me up about Hudson saying demands like that. Regardless, I’m sure it’s cute 🙂

I love flowy Maxi dresses, but I run into the same huge feeling issue with them. I think they are GREAT for after, too…especially smocked. At that point, I don’t care how I look at all ..for a while.

If it will make you feel better, I’ll send you a bare belly picture before I deliver and it will make you feel not so bad about your stretch marks. haha. Mine haven’t come, but I hear with twins I should expect an abundance.

  8. Katie says

I love WWF! The more I play the better I get! I love that about a game! I cannot believe you had a Kidney Infection! My best friend who is 12 weeks pregnant had one at 7 weeks. It was terrifying for everyone involved. She had NO idea what was going on and husband was out of town for work. Too Scary! I’m glad you’re both feeling better! Also…was it you that was going to have a Willow House party or someone else? I actually just broke my hurricane two weeks ago while I was trying to arrange some farmers market flowers in sink! I just cracked the entire base. I’d love to order another! Happy Easter!

  9. says

Clearly you’re not the only one with a WWF addiction. I can’t get enough!!

    Love those pretty eggs!!

And lastly, I bet you look beautiful in that maxi dress!!

  10. Rebekah says

I haven’t let myself download WWF on my iPhone because I do not want to get addicted and I know I probably would! Also, I got stretch marks when I was pregnant with my daughter and they went away after she was born and came back when I got pregnant and started growing again. So maybe your’s will go away too! And I will say I LOVE maxi dresses during pregnancy. They are wonderful. I need to get some more.

  11. says

I will confess that I ate too junky during my first tri. and I’m afraid baby L will have french fries for fingers. Augh. I’m not even kidding a little bit.

    Seven times?? Oh girl!

  12. says

Seriously, I don’t know how I would have made it through the last 2 weeks of pregnancy/the first 6 weeks of Carter’s life without Words With Friends. I took a super long hiatus from it for about 3 months and again, am ridiculously addicted. I should probably buy the non-free version just to get rid of those stupid ads. I mean, I play ALL the time! Obviously 🙂

Stretchies. It’s such a cuter name for them, isn’t it? I’m slathering mine up with self-tanner and hoping that camoflauges them a bit. I mean, it’s not like I’m wearing a ‘kini anytime soon, either. But everything always looks better tan, right?

I started a gorgeous felt wreath for Valentine’s day… Got about 30% of the way done (as in, I cut all the felt up…) but never got around to pinning it to the wreath ring because I had the wrong size pins.. Yep.. it’s in the pantry. For Valentine’s day 2012. Too funny..

    Happy Wednesday, Mama!

Your confessions made me laugh. Here’s mine: I bought some kettle corn to put inside Julia’s Easter eggs, and I just ate the entire bag during naptime.

  14. Lizziefitz says

I can’t wait to go to bed!!! I thought it was Friday all day. I may or may not have eaten my weight in warm choc chip cookies . Come enter my give away :))))

  15. AnnieH says

Confession – just ate uncountable amounts of Easter candy (a gift from a coworker) because I’m at work late, want dinner, and it’s THERE. I plan on the gym en route to home, but then should probably have something nutritious?? Argh. Chocolate for dinner!

  16. says

I have stretch marks all over my left hip and that stupid linea nigra. The best thing about mine is that the part above my belly button is really crooked and it looks ridiculous!

I pretty much wear maternity dresses every day and they make me look HUGE but they’re the comfiest.

I want to play Words With Friends, but I haven’t because I’m worried I will stink at it and look dumb 😛

  17. says

I played Words with Friends while I was working today. I was actually playing you (and still am). I’m Baba Stink! And Baba Stink is a term of endearment my husband lovingly calls me.

I haven’t vacuumed my house all week. I can’t believe I just admitted that! It usually stresses me out not to vacuum, but I’ve been enjoying the nice weather outside with my family.

Confessions are fun! You should do them more often!

  18. says

I LOVE words with friends. I’m so addicted and so is my hubby.

I lived in dresses when I was preggo and I looked like a house but comfort is priority!

  19. says

Stretch marks coming my way soon!
Confessions: I just ate an entire pizza for lunch today. Pregnant women should not be left alone at home with food 🙂

  20. says

Confession 1 – The only Easter/Spring decoration I have is a green checked table cloth. Kind of boring.

Confession 2 – My three year old is a bossy child. He bosses everytime he gets the chance. According to my family he’s “just like his mother”.

  21. Christen says

Those eggs are gorgeous! Even if you didn’t intend to display them like that, it works great. I have been meaning to make a Spring wreath (I made a Fall one I love) for ages now, and may invest in floral wire. Hot glue can be a mess!

My confession? I’m feeling a little guilt-ridden about balancing time between my parents and my in-laws. I feel like I’ve been neglecting my side a bit, even though my in-laws are close and my parents are far away. Need to work on setting aside time to travel to see them!

  22. Lindsey says

LOVE Words with Friends (except when my husband beats me…#allthetime)! Screen name LindseyS-03! Love your blog too! I wish I was as good as you were…maybe one day when I have kiddos 🙂 Happy Easter!
