I guess my tip probably isn’t really new – I got a small notebook-sized journal when my son was born so that I could write down important events on a day-by-day basis. Some days I don’t write anything down, but special things I want to remember, I just jot a quick reminder note to myself. Hopefully, he’ll look back at it one day and think it’s special!

My best advice for new moms – or any mom – is to have more than one of everything that you need and have it readily available in any room you spend a lot of time in. We had our one swing downstairs and upon learning how much our daughter loved it, set up the travel swing upstairs! I had a “basket” or drawer full of diapers, wipes, diaper cream, etc. in my room, her room, and the living room. We had 2 diaper bags, and both contained all items (including travel bottles of shampoo/body wash and lotion), for just in case.

I have some new and soon-to-be mommy’s who would love this! Since I hope to be a mommy again (I have a 4 year old daughter today and would love her to be able to have a sibling!), I would love this as well!!! What a great giveaway! I have heard wonderful things about Dr. Smith’s!

I shared my problem solved hint on Dr. Smith’s wall. I make my child help me with my least favorite chores (ie- vacuuming, watering plants, etc)- poor child thinks it’s fun, I don’t have to deal with them as often, and it is a win-win! I’m sure my silly girl will learn soon enough one day and change her mind about how much “fun” it is to help mommy! Until then, I am taking full advantage of it!
