Monday stuff!

  • Our surgery to get Hudson’s tubes is scheduled for Wednesday. I have been looking forward to this day for so long. I know that Hudson is absolutely sick and tired of having ear infection after ear infection. The ENT ruled out the adenoidectomy because she thinks it is too aggressive at this point, but we have been on schedule for the tubes.
  • Until last night…. when Hudson had a 103.8 fever. We are beyond frustrated, but we took him to his pediatrician because we need to get this fever under control before Wednesday. Nothing is standing in the way of my baby and his tubes! He has a double ear infection right now. Big shock! So we started the Rocephin shots today and by Wednesday he should be fine for his surgery. Bring on the tubes!
  • I am having an ultrasound tomorrow and get to see sweet baby Hayes again. My doctor wants to get an idea of his size since I’m measuring big and also wants to see if he is in the correct position. I can feel him over every inch of my belly and have a feeling he isn’t head down yet. This only matters if I happen to go into labor. But I can’t wait to check out my baby boy tomorrow!
  • TC and I picked up some books to start planning our trip to Napa Valley and San Francisco for the fall. Hayes will be about 6 months old by then and we’ll be celebrating my 11/11/11 birthday. The idea of a fun, romantic getaway has both of us pretty excited.
  • I am so close to being done with all of Hudson’s birthday party planning. Thanks to Sweet Birdie’s Nest and a fabulous Etsy seller called Kelley Cards, I have almost every little thing taken care of other than the food. My hope is that on birthday party day, we can all roll into the location and have a party! Here’s a sneak peak… Hudson is going to be so excited!

That’s it for today. No fun pictures, no big updates. Just a relaxing weekend with my family and a week with nothing big on the calendar. Thank goodness for gorgeous weather, dogwoods, azaleas, and sunshine!

I can’t wait for H to have tubes either. I know firsthand how terrible it is for your baby to be so sick all of the time. We haven’t had one ear infection since having the tubes….best decision ever. Now strep on the otherhand…ugh. Baby girl’s tonsils may have to come out when she gets a little older. 🙁

What a cool birthday!! 11-11-11. We want to go somewhere special for our anniversary in July. 15 years together deserves a special trip, right!? 🙂

Cute bags for H’s party…we love Sesame Street!

Good luck on Wed! I will say a prayer for Hudson. Btw, we went to Napa for a week last July so you can email me if you have any ?s with your planning. 🙂

Hope H feels better and that his tube surgery goes well! I work in San Francisco and live just about 20 minutes from Napa. You and TC will LOVE it here. And you’ll have great weather. 🙂 What a great trip!

Yay for tubes! My twin boys spent their entire first year with ear infection after ear infection and since getting tubes last July we have only had to deal with one ear infection that quickly went away!! It has been so nice 🙂 Love the sneak peak at Hudson’s party….looks like it will be so cute!

My daughter would be all over Hudson’s Birthday theme:) what would we do without Sesame Street??? Best of luck with sonogram and tubes! I had a version with last baby… Not fun! She turned the wrong way 24 hrs before scheduled induction? Murphy’s law.

Sweet Hudson! I hope he feels better soon and that those tubes bring a lifetime of relief. Praise God for modern medicine! 🙂

And I can’t wait to see how your plans to the wine country shape up! We loved it and I know you will too … you know, if beautiful scenery, amazing weather, delicious food and great wine are your thing. 🙂

Also – I meant to note that you’re going at a great time of year (just after the harvest) … prices are sky-high and tasting rooms are PACKED during harvest season (Sept-Oct) but you will just miss all of that craziness! You picked a good birthday! 🙂

Hope Hudson gets well in time for his tubes Wed! They made a huge, huge difference in our son. My only regret is that we didn’t do them sooner but we really had no reason to. We think it played a part in our son’s speech being delayed also. I know H doesn’t have that problem but it’s amazing how many kids do. And here’s to a romantic getaway. Our last big one was The Sanctuary after our oldest was born…. we’re getting ready to plan another one but not sure if we’ll splurge quite as much as we did. 🙂

So glad that H will be getting some much needed relief on Wednesday! Two of my sister’s three kiddos have tubes and she has said it has made a HUGE difference! Don’t know how far into planning you are in your Napa trip, but hubsters and I went a few years ago and stayed at The Carneros Inn. Absolutely breath-taking, and top notch! Unbelieveable spa as well!!

I will be praying for sweet Hudson on Thursday. I hope we are not headed in the same direction as far as the tubes go…my Baby Tate is 3.5 months and on his 3rd ear infection. The pediatrician said our next plan is a ENT. In any event, prayers to y’all :>)

I went to Napa and San Francisco last Spring. It was one of the best trips I’ve ever taken! We did 3 days in Napa and 2 in San Francisco and it worked out perfectly. After three days, we were a little over the wine tasting (and we had eaten SO MUCH) it was nice to relax in San Francisco after that.

So many exciting things! I’ll be praying Wednesday goes so smoothly and really helps Hudson! I hope he feels better so soon! His party is going to be so cute and fun, those bags are adorable. (I bookmarked something from Sweet Birdie’s Nest last month for a possibility for the boys’ birthday :)) Yay, for your Napa and San Fran trip, that will be so much fun! and yay for an ultrasound tomorrow, I can’t wait to hear an update. 🙂

I hope your ultrasound goes well. I am now 4 days post delivery (with a sweet, sweet boy home in my arms :)), and really wishing we had done a C-section. A 7 lb 14 oz boy was WAY too big for my body and I am now dealing with some complications. I am praying for good news from the doctor next Monday. In the meantime I will worry I’m sure (it is what I do best) 🙂

I would love to go to Napa one day soon…that sounds like an amazing trip!!!

We just had T’s 1st birthday over the weekend! It was such a labor of love! Worth it though! And I started last June, so I was completely prepared when Saturday rolled around! I can’t wait to see the rest of Hudsons party..

Your poor baby Hudson has been through the ringer with those dang ears. It will be such a relief (for you all) when he finally gets his tubes.

Glad you are able to have some fun planning your Napa trip – I’ll be looking forward to your notes, it’s one trip that I cannot wait to take!

Poor Hudson. I hope his surgery goes well and the tubes end all these ear infections!!

On another note, we’re having Stella a Sesame Street party next week! Fun.

My fiance and I are planning to go to Napa for our honeymoon. I’ve found a lot of great Apps for Napa vacations. One even showing you were free wine tours are happening. All have gotten great reviews.

My third has had 2 sets of tubes and they have been wonderful for him. We had them give him a “cocktail” at the hospital before his surgery to help relax him which worked wonders. The hardest part of the surgery was the hour after he woke up. He was disoriented and sobbing. It was from coming off the anesthesia. The rest of the day, both times, he was absolutely fine. Good luck!

Hi Erin! Been following you for awhile. Hope Hudson feels better soon! I know a lot of people who have had tubes put in… Poor little guy!
If you need any ideas for SF/Napa, let me know. I’ve grown up in the Bay Area, and currently live in the outer limits of SF. 😀
Hope all goes well at your Ultrasound!

Poor Hudson! I hope he feels better soon and the tubes help him. I’m sure it’s tough to see him sick all of the time. It’s so fun that your Birthday is 11/11/11! I think a trip to Napa sounds like the perfect way to celebrate 🙂

You are so creative with Hudson’s birthday parties, I wanted to pick your brain. I am trying to plan my son’s 1st bday party. It is going to be around Easter weekend, so I thought I would make it a Peter Rabbit theme. Do you have any good ideas that you would recommend to do? How did you entertain or schedule Hudson’s 1st celebration?
    THanks!!

those bags are super cute! good luck with your trip planning. as a native nor-cal girl I may be biased, but I really do think it’s one of the most amazing places in the world 🙂

when you go to Napa Valley you HAVE to go to the Castle winery. It is absolutely AMAZING! It’s like 10ish minutes north of all the other wineries. I think the tour is like $10 a person or something like that…we went to San Fran on our honeymoon, it was incredible!
