- I have been feeling like my body is breaking down. I know it’s not, but I’m just not very strong. We have reached 30 weeks in this pregnancy and while that sounds like I only have a little bit of time left, I know that the last few weeks are the slowest. And that’s because they’re the most physically uncomfortable.
- I had a lot that I wanted to get done this weekend. We didn’t have any plans or obligations and we just wanted to tackle the big task list before I get too uncomfortable to want to do anything at all.
- I got all of the baby clothes out of storage and washed them. Have I mentioned how excited I am and how lucky I feel that we get to reuse all of the same baby clothes? Another boy born in the same season. The nursery closet is now full of soft, sweet like Dreft smelling, onesies. Seriously, the smell makes me ache to hold this sweet baby.
- We also cleaned out the closet in Hudson’s new room. It was full of our “office” stuff and my scrapbook stuff. Then I cleaned out the closet in the guest bedroom to make sure that it was functional again.
- We went to Target to pick up some new storage solutions and while we were at Target, I really thought the baby might just fall out. My walking slowed to an extreme waddle and I could not have moved any faster if someone was dangling a million dollars in front of me.
- But we worked our tails off that day and then got Hudson settled into his big boy bed for his first big boy nap.
- Our beloved Boudreaux came down with some awful virus and spent all day getting sick. We finally took him to the vet when we realized he wasn’t going to stop getting sick and he got a couple of injections of pain reliever and anti-nausea medicine. The vet recommended Pepcid and a diet of boiled chicken and white rice. So I cooked our sweet puppy a meal and he has been on the mend ever since.
- Hudson’s new room is all arranged and we’re just waiting on the bedding and curtains to be finished. Here is a sneak peek of the shelves that TC and his dad moved from one side of the room to the other this weekend. I still need to accessorize.
- I feel completely frazzled and consumed with to-do lists. This is mostly frazzling because a lot of the things on my list aren’t things I can do myself.
- One of the things on my list is to have a gorgeous back deck and patio area completed before #2 arrives. This is a stretch. My sweet husband did arrange for me to finally get some outdoor backyard lighting. The dogs and I appreciate it!
- Happy Mardi Gras everyone from Hudson, Boudreaux, and Fiona! Hudson is sporting his Mardi Gras outfit today and enjoying Animal Crackers.

I love the Mardi Gras outfit! Adorable.
Aww Hudson! He looks absolutely adorable in those little longalls. I can’t imagine the overwhelming feeling you have right now–just remember that if you need to rest just DO IT! Everything will get done, one way or another. I remember feeling the same way at the end of mypregnancy. I had to have EVERYTHING DONE. Then when she was here, I realized everything I got done she didn’t even need yet. Of course–you are having a second, which just adds to the anxiety. Hang in there xo!
That looks like one happy boy! It sounds like you have already been able to accomplish a lot, good luck with the rest of your list and I hope you get a porch! That would be so awesome for Spring.
Catching up on your blog and goodness, Hudson is looking so big!! Ahh! He is so sweet 🙂 Hang in there! I can’t imagine being pregnant with an active little one running around too!
Laissez les bons temps rouler, Cher!
Aw, your little Hudson is so adorable! Having 2 little boys is pretty exciting:) Can’t wait to see Hudson’s room!
he’s so cute! Happy Mardi Gras 🙂
I love his Mardi Gras outfit! Too cute. We’re also embarking on a backyard/back patio makeover and I’m so excited for it to be done. I feel sorry for our landscapers working out there in the pouring rain, but I’m looking forward to having a nice place to entertain over the summer.
Hudson’s Mardi Gras outfit is so cute! Can’t wait to see the finished product of his room!
Hudson is adorable in his outfit! B and I sang “sing sing to Hudson” this morning. I will be praying for you as you take care of yourself, your family, and prepare for Baby Boy #2!
Look at all those baby clothes! So sweet.
Oh look how cute! I just love him!
The shelves look great. I can’t wait to see how it all comes together!
I cannot wait to see Hudson’s new room! How exciting! Take it easy on yourself these last ten-ish weeks. Have yourself a sweet tea and put your feet up 🙂
You may feel frazzled, but to everyone else it’s admirable how much you’ve accomplished. Seeing you manage your home, babies, and husband is inspiring!
wrong website.
Don’t worry , everything will get done, eventually, HA! Hudson looks adorable, as does his new big boy room . I can’t wait for the rest of the reveal. Side note, I am loving that cool pillow by the animal crackers:) Hugs!
Love Hudson’s outfit! He’s such a ‘little man”. I can’t wait to see his new room.
My lab had the same thing Boudreaux had. He still had his appetite, but couldn’t keep his food down for more than 3 hours. The vet put him on anti-nausea medicine too, but the morning of our huge snow storm he was still sick, so I called in and they suggested Pepcid, but all I had was Zantac and he was on that for 2.5 weeks along with a diet of lean hamburger and white rice. He’s much better now.
Take care.
I am 29 weeks and it’s amazing how quickly I got SO uncomfortable! It all seemed to happen overnight.
Where did you get the shelves in Hudson’s room? I’m looking for something similar.
I am sorry you are starting to feel so uncomfortable. My first preg I remember moving soo slow(reeeallly slow)! but I still got out b/c I refused to be stuck at home with so much to do! I also had really bad hip pain, too. I have it with this pregnancy as well but it has been off and on and started earlier. I had so many plans for this weekend and sure enough, I started having bad hip pain and couldn’t do very much! I am 24 wks and the thought of not being able to do get things done myself for the rest of the preg is just upsetting! sounds like you had a pretty productive weekend and your family is really helping you out with your list. I think even though you feel you have so much to do (me too) that past getting hudson situated in his room , really all you need are clean baby clothes, baby bed, and preferably a clean house to bring a baby home, right?!!
Hudson’s room looks like it is going to be really cute. It makes me excited to go fabric shopping for our baby on the way at Calico Corners when I go back to DC in the summer.
Thinking about you lots! Praying lots that the last 10 weeks dont crawl but fly by!! I love the sweet smell of dreft and a new born baby! I wish I could love on baby boy number two! I still havent gotten to hug on little hudson:(
Thinking about you lots;) I might have to come see you have your have baby number 2:) And I can bring my margarita machine:) aye aye aye:)
love ya
We eat those same animal crackers that H is eating, and we love them!! They’re the only ones I will eat these days :o)
Also, the room is looking great! You have amazing taste, so I’m excited to see how it all comes together.
Hudson is too cute in his Mardi Gras outfit 🙂
Try to work in some down time in these last few weeks. Ask TC to get you a Chik-fil-A “split” and put your feet up 🙂
Not trying to intrude, but I’m thinking your OB should know about the symptoms you’re describing: aches, pains, waddles and fatigue are normal, but overwhelming fatigue, concern that you can’t take another step and feeling like the baby might just drop out are NOT normal at 30 weeks. If your doctor does know and feels that everything is A-OK, take care and keep enjoying the final phase of your pregnancy 🙂
I’m with you on feeling overwhelmed with to-do lists! I’m at 34 weeks now, and the time is definitely going by so slowly. But I feel like I need this time to finish getting everything done, especially at work. Can’t wait to see both of your new rooms! 🙂
LOVE the sneak peek of Hudson’s room! You’re doing such a great job. 🙂 His dresser looks exactly like Wynn’s. Is it Capretti?
Awe I cannot wait to see Hudson’s big boy room!!!!
To Lissa – don’t you think she’s spoken to her doctor already? And FYI – if you have to start a sentence with “Not to you intrude,” then guess what? You’re intruding!
