I’m sitting here at my desk, which we have moved to the master bedroom (all 700ish square feet of master bedroom that needs to be filled with something), looking out our little window. I’m catching up from our week away. Filling out paper work, responding to countless emails, and daydreaming.
My stream of consciousness is something like this…
- Holy preschool, Batman! I am so happy that after 2 years on a waiting list, Hudson got accepted to our preschool of choice which also has a great 5K program. But the paperwork? I am pretty sure my college application wasn’t that thick!
- I would pay someone $20 to run to Target, pick up a box of orange push ups for me, and bring them to my house. You could even stay to enjoy one with me!
- But then I remember that we’re doing Dave Ramsey and I can’t give you $20 to do something that I can do myself!
- But Hudson is asleep, so I can’t do it myself right now.
- I need to do my book club posts! I read the book and thought up questions, but I haven’t done my post to answer them.
- I’m having an Oscar party this weekend, but haven’t done any grocery shopping to get everything together. What am I waiting for?
- I kind of want to go look at fabric to do some dining room curtains.
- But I need to clean out the closets in Hudson’s new room and the guest room.
- Can we have a garage sale before the baby is born?
- I’d love to announce his name in big bold lights, but I have a feeling I’ll regret not waiting until he’s born.
- My mind keeps thinking of the dream vacation that I want to take to Napa or Costa Rica after the baby is born. Preferably in the fall.
- That Rockaway burger I had for lunch was delicious.
- And it was even better that I got to enjoy it while sitting outside!
- I had a fantastic doctor’s appointment today and saw some sweet cheeks on our precious baby boy #2. I cannot wait to meet him and kiss those cheeks!
- Hudson has another ear infection, but acts like he’s feeling great. He’s such a funny kid!
- We’re going to see an ENT soon. Tubes are in our future!
- I really want those orange push ups! Don’t they look delicious?

If I could go get you those push ups and sit and have one with you right now – I’d do it for free. They look so yummy. 🙂 I hope you get some soon, I may have to get some myself.
We’re doing an Oscar party too and have not done a single thing to plan or shop for it yet! I’ve combined my birthday with the Oscars so I am making everyone bring a dish that is in someway connected to a nominated movie! Hopefully that puts less stress on the planning on my end! Good luck with yours!
I forgot about orange push pops! Those were my favorite as a kid! I want one now too!
Mmmm…popsicles!
And you should go to Napa. It’s one of my favorite spots ever. Although I have heard A.maz.ing things about Costa Rica as well. We aalmost went there this fall, but decided on Key West. Mistake if you ask me!
My son has had tubes (3 times to be exact). Everytime they come out the ear infections start again. While I’m not so gung ho on the cost, it sure is nice when they are in. Plus it makes flying so much easier. No ear popping. Oh and I could sure go for an orange push up pop too.
Mmm, the push-ups look delish! What are your ideas for the Oscar party?! You always throw the most fabulous get togethers. I still LOVE the green and orange theme for Hudson.
You make me laugh. Your things to do are so like my mind right now. Even including the dining room curtains and baby’s closets! We’re also having a party on Friday night and I’ve done not a thing to prepare. Well, the house is clean, so that’s something. You’ve got me curious as to what a 5K program is… Also, I’ll take a fudge-sicle instead please!
If I lived there girl I’d bring you those orange pushups! I completely understand you waiting to announce his name but I can’t wait to hear it!
Oh man–orange push-ups. What a great memory!!
Can’t wait to hear the name, although I may keep ours a surprise next go round.
I love when you do these posts – streams of consciousness are my fave :o)
We did Dave Ramsey, too! Are you taking his Financial Peace class? We LOVED it!! Learned SO much! Our church offered it once a week for 13-14 weeks last winter.
Now I really, really want orange push ups! Yum!!
I can’t wait to hear what you’ve chosen for a name! So soon- yay! 🙂
I love push pops!
We live an hour away from Napa and have never been. Crazy, huh? Well, maybe not…considering we don’t drink wine. I hear it’s lovely, though!
Oh, those push ups are so good!! Can’t wait to hear the name of your little boy!!
Tubes are in Spencer’s future too!! At 9 months he’s already had 4 ear infections (one of which we were on abx for 20 days!!) Poor, poor baby 🙁
Napa is on our list for our first “adult” vacation too. Argentina is our second choice, but I’d go to London too. Anyone want to send me a few thousand dollars? Maybe from your garage sale??
I student taught in Costa Rica and we went to Napa on our honeymoon so I’d endorse both choices! Just depends on what your objectives are. Beaches, relaxation, being HOT- definitely Costa Rica. I was staying in a small town with a family so I didn’t do as much of the regular tourist stuff, but what we did was so fun. We did a weekend package of horse riding, water sliding, zip-lining, rain forest hiking, and riding through the countryside. I would LOVE to go back, but it’s not my husband’s style at all. Amazing food & wine, relaxation, culture, shopping (which I don’t object to either!)- definitely Napa. For our honeymoon, we flew into San Francisco, spent a few days there and then rented a car and spent a few days out in Sonoma/Napa. The only thing about Sonoma/Napa is there isn’t a whole lot to do besides wineries. (Unless we just didn’t find it. We were there in August too.)
I’d love to hear how Dave Ramsey is working for y’all. I’m really interested in his program, but only know what is available on his website.
So jealous you’re having an Oscar party! I’ve always wanted to have one or go to one. I bet it will be fabulous!
So sorry to hear that H is sick again, poor little guy! He’s had a rough winter.
I know someone else going through the EXACT same thing (tubes in the future). I’m so sorry you have that going on! I know my friend is SO frustrated with so many miserable days and nights with the baby.
You are too funny!! I can’t wait to hear baby boy’s name!! Hope you got your orange push-ups (they do sound good)!
If I lived closer – I would get you those orange push pops. I wouldn’t even charge you.
You guys are doing DR too??? Everyone I know is doing it.
I’m glad H is going to get tubes…I know you’re ready for him to kick the ear infections for good. Even though Amelia has another cold, this is the first time it hasn’t led to an ear infection. So that’s a plus. 🙂
And Oscar parties are so fun!!
We’re going to Costa Rica in April with our 6MO and 4YO daughters. It looks beautiful, and from the testimony of my SIL (your friend from LA), will be super fun. You should do it, too!
Don’t give away the name!! It’s so fun to wait and announce it to the world once they arrive!!
The paper work for five kids is totally insane! I get to the last one and try to remember what year it is now and what year she was born? I would bring you a push pop but hubby had=s banned me from tarjay this month:( I think you should wait to announce baby boy’s name ;0 ) I am sure it is perfect!
PS I thought you were going to show us another spider when I saw your post title LOL!!
Hi Erin
I don’t think you follow my blog our twitter id, but I do follow both of yours and I just wanted to say hi. I also wanted to tell you that I enjoy reading your blog and seeing your sweet Hudson. I have a 9 month boy named Grayson. I really enjoy reading your tweets. I do have a question for you if you have time to respond. How long did you keep Hudson in a sleep sack? When you stopped how did you break the habit? Any advice you can give is greatly appreciated.
Dave Ramsey rocks!! We’ve been drinking the kool aid since the fall an love it. Its been forever since I’ve had an orange push pop, reminds me of elementary school!
LOL about the orange push pops in February. Only hormonal pregnant moms could crave those. Been there! 🙂 Love your distressed desk and the view out your bedroom window. Charming!
Hysterical! I had very few cravings while I was pregnant, other than “I want what you have” syndrome, but I totally craved push-up pops. Only orange ones though!
Yum! Orange Push-Up Pops bring back fabulous memories of sunny summer days spent by the pool. We can’t wait for the baby boy name reveal!
LOVE me some Rockaway burgers! We live in CLT now so don’t get down there too much. Might have to hit that place up when we come down for a SC baseball game in April.
I love your blog. This posting was hysterical. I could not stop laughing! I am a new reader and am so glad i found your blog. Your post on sleeping is exactly what we did with both our girls. Love it that you posted it. What a great idea! Can’t wait to read more!
Orange push-pops are such a nice reminder of summer! I’m so ready for winter to be over 🙂
I’m not even planning having children for a while longer and I can relate. I feel like no matter where you are in life there are always little things you really wish you could get to but never do and they just hang over you. I can’t even imagie what my brain will be like when we decide to have children! Ahh, it gives me anxiety just thinking about it!
Yumm I used to LOVE those push up pops! I got some last summer and was so suprised they had switched from Flintstones to Scooby Doo! haha! I saw an awesome idea for an Oscar Party the other day – She used top hats as champagne buckets! http://apartystyle.blogspot.com/2011/02/top-hat-wine-bucket.html
I hope you get your popsicle fix soon!
I wish I could come to your Oscar party on Sunday!! It’s my FAVORITE awards show by far, and it’s always more fun with friends who also love a good movie!
I’d love to hear how Dave Ramsey is working for ya’ll! The hubs and I are doing our first DR budget this month and I am seriously scared!
