We had such a fun weekend. Three friends and I hosted a baby shower for our friend, Emily and her baby boy on the way. It was so much fun putting together a shower for her with such great friends. It’s always fun to plan things but even more fun when you’re doing it with people you like.
My very generous parents-in-law were once again so kind to let us use their house for the shower. It’s got a great floor plan for entertaining and it’s so nice to have such a big space to use when you need to host lots of people. There were 24 of Emily’s friends and family members at the shower, including her mother, mother-in-law, sister-in-law, and a great friend who flew in from Los Angeles. She and her sweet little boy are very loved!
The hostesses with Emily. Emily is the tall blonde in the middle- I promise she is 8 months pregnant. Doesn’t she look amazing?
Just before the shower started we were wondering aloud about when the baby boom would happen for our class. We’ve had two families join our class that already had children, but Hudson is still the only baby that was born while the parents were in our class. And now Emily and I are both pregnant. Then we found out that these other two pretty mamas are expecting, too!
all the pregnant girls from our Sunday school class
I’m so happy we had this day together to celebrate Emily and her sweet baby boy and that we had the opportunity to pray for both of them. Parenting is hard and having supportive friends and family around to love you and your children is such a blessing. This little boy is already so loved!
cards to write sweet notes to the mom-to-be were put in this photo album for her to look at later
the food table: fruit, cupcakes, pimiento cheese and pita chips from DiPratos, spinach salad, and chicken salad w/ rolls
sweet cupcake toppers made by Nat Kat Designs to match the invitations from Tiny Prints
hydrangeas are Emily’s favorite and look so great with blue and green baby boy decor
yummy chicken salad
Some of the girls (and little Hudson) got together last night to hang out. We wore our pajamas and just sat around and talked. Hudson ended up making sweet eyes all night at one of my friends. I’ve never seen him get such a crush on someone before, but he was smitten! He loved having all of my friends read to him and play with him. I don’t think it bothered him a bit to be the only boy in the room!

You’re looking so great, Erin! And WOW she does not look pregnant at all in that first pic!
Your friend looks amazing for 8 months! Super random, but is the girl on the far left in the picture of the 4 pregnant girls named Ashley? My husband was looking over my shoulder and thinks she looks like a girl he knew when he was younger here in NOLA…may not be her, but curiosity got the best of me!
Erin, you did a fantastic job decorating for your friend’s shower; I remember her from her clothing sale, you and her both need to do another one soon! 🙂 I would love to have a night at home with just my girlfriends, in our pajamas : ) Last year was a crazy year (because of health reasons) and I had little time to spend with even my closest friends. This year is going by so much smoother and one of my resolutiuons is to spend some much needed quality time with friends…I can’t wait for spring-time! 🙂

LOVE the shower!! You did such a great job! I can’t wait to see Hudson’s big boy room and the new little bundle you are expecting!
what an elegant event ! All of the expectant moms look radiant !!! Thank you for sharing this sliver of your weekend. Best wishes to you on the remaining days of your pregnancy.
ps – I’m just a tad jealous that your in-laws are so kind to allow you to entertain @ their home. Mine wouldn’t even give me a piece of already-chewed bubble gum !
Sounds like an amazing weekend with the girls! Gorgeous pictures of all of you. You look amazing as always. 🙂 What a beautiful shower you gave her.
What a darling shower! I’m sure your friend felt very loved 🙂
How fun that there are several other ladies in your Sunday School class expecting at the same time! Hudson and his little brother and your friends’ little ones can have a great time growing up together.
The shower turned out great! Everything looks beautiful. You are such a cute pregnant girl! How fun that you have so many friends who will have little ones who are close in age with your boys!
Love the hydrangeas!! Showers are so fun!! Everything looked great!
Those are the sweetest cupcakes I’ve ever seen!
What a pretty shower! You are looking gorgeous as always. And I can’t believe your friend is 8 months pregnant…she’s hiding her belly well under that shirt! 🙂
You and your friends are beautiful.
On another note, I would love your chicken salad recipe!
What I loved most about this shower is the incredibly elegant simplicity. I had 3 baby showers (i know…lots of family all over the country who refused to travel to where I live. Got lots of nice things though!) and one of mine was just like this, and I have to say it was definitely the most beautiful of the 3…even though the other ones were more “decorated”. Less is truly more!!! I am so envious you have such a great group of women to share pregnancy and mommy time with. I am 26, and the 1st and only one of my friends to have a baby…it’s hard being in this new world “alone!” Thanks for sharing 🙂
What a lovely weekend!!!
