Maybe next week I’ll get back into some posts that have a little bit of thought behind them, but for today, this is it!
1. I have yet to purchase anything new for our sweet baby boy, whose name I am always so tempted to just throw out there! That would probably be much easier. Anyway- I haven’t bought anything for him yet because we really didn’t need clothes since we already have tons of boy clothes. We don’t need a new nursery since he is moving straight into our current nursery and Hudson is moving out. But. But! Have y’all seen the new spring items from Shrimp and Grits, Ragsland, andΒ Kelly’s Kids? My fingers are tempted to go on an online shopping rampage! Someone stop me! There are trunk shows going on all around me and I am trying so hard to be good!
2. Hudson is feeling much better. He had his last rocephin shot yesterday. His doctor said his ears were still infected, but we were making progress. We’ll go back for a re-check next week.
3. While he’s feeling good, my 31 pound-awesome eater- little boy is not eating. He’s playing with his food. Laughing about playing with it. And he’s feeding it to the dogs. Such a fun stage. (sarcasm)
4. I’m heading to decorate for tomorrow’ baby shower this afternoon. I’m just so excited. Baby colors, baby stuff, baby gifts, talking about baby names. It’s all so much fun and I can’t wait to celebrate with our friend.
5. I’m trying to plan one last trip to Dallas before I enter the third trimester. I only have a few weeks left where I’ll feel comfortable flying alone with Hudson and my mom and I want to drive to Louisiana (north and south) to see some family and friends– and eat. My best friend is having her baby at the end of February, so I may not get to meet the baby, but I know I’ll meet her soon. I just need to go ahead and get my ticket and get on with it.
6. The girls Bible study that I’m in is going to read Crazy Love by Francis Chan together and discuss it each week rather than doing a workbook and video study. I’m so excited to read this book and to have others reading along with me. Also, remember that in February the Book Beginnings and Bookends blogging book club will begin reading Ape House by Sara Gruen. Two great books in February!
7. I caved and watched American Idol last night. Eep! Megan sent me a text on Wednesday night asking if I was watching and she said that she was enjoying it. So I turned it on. I am not a fan of Steven Tyler. But I am liking J.Lo a lot. First of all, she’s super beautiful, but she’s also compassionate without being crazy annoying. I just miss the voice of reason from Simon. The one voice to say, “Hold up. That wasn’t as good as y’all thought it was!” But I fell in love with one of the New Orleans contestants last night and that’s usually all it takes to get me hooked. I need to root for one person to keep coming back. We’ll see!

I read Crazy Love last spring — can’t wait to hear what you think!
I must say that while I really miss Simon (whose viewpoint I agree with 99% of the time), I’m kind of digging this season. I am not really a J-Lo fan, but she is really kind of awesome on this show. She seems like a genuine person and so, so nice. I’m actually a Steven Tyler (okay, Aerosmith) fan, but he can be a bit much. Kind of needs a filter. We shall see.. Of course I’ll be watching!
Who did you fall in love with? The girl with the babe stole my heart last night. And made me bawl my eyes out. Can I still blame that on postpartum hormones nine months out?!?
Those outfits are sooo cute! I think I need one of each for my little guy on whose on the way.
My boys were born two years apart and in the same month, so I had all the clothes in the right season. I was set…HOWEVER, as I was pulling out the clothes and getting the ready, some of them were just so JACK, and I could not imagine my newest one in them. (Just a few, special pieces)
I ended up buying a few special pieces for Colin, especially for pictures. I am so glad I did. He has a few of his own special Colin items that will always be just his.
Enjoy those trunk sale π
I think you should splurge for a FEW new things π What can it hurt π Just keep those fingers in check π
So glad Huddy is feeling like him self again! Now good luck getting him to eat π
Let me know if you have a minute to say HI when you come to town!!
American Idol, I haven’t watched last nights show yet, but I must say, I didn’t mind the new judges. Other than Simon, the their panel was getting a little too “bickery” back and forth and it started to run the show to me. So I think it is a nice change! Well, so far anyway!!
love those outfits!! I have a friend in the same situation as you. She has two boys, a baby born and a 2 years old boy, they are so cute, and she said that she didnt buy anything new for the new boy because she has a lot of things, but…. THEY ARE SO CUTE!!! I think you are going to receive a lot of presents in your baby shower!!
Hope Hudson will feel completely good very very soon!!
hey! if you come to BR i’d love to see you!!!
Oh my goodness, those little seersucker shorts are too cute!
Hey, just wanted to drop a note and say you should check out the Spring line of Chez Ami! So cute this season!! The little navy blue and green jon jon’s monogrammed with a whale are too cute and the seersucker swim trunks are the icing on the cake π http://www.chezami.com
You will love it!
I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to see you & your mom when yall come to town!! Maybe yall could work me in, if not there’s alwyas next time! Will you have Hudson with you? I would give my left arm to see that sweet angel!! Love ya Erin
I am after those shorts for sure! Grampie calls my little Mason Gator….perfect!
+ I love to hear you write “y’all”…I am a Nebraska girl that wishes I could spit that out of my mouth and sound like it fits!!
have a super baby shower! Have you checked this one out?! http://www.hostessblog.com/2011/01/real-parties-darling-bow-tie-baby-shower/
I caved and watched some of American Idol last night too and was also pleasantly surprised with J. Lo and Steven Tyler π The girl at the end who had the special needs child brought tears to my eyes; I was so happy she made it to Hollywood and hope that she gets into the top 20!
Have fun at the baby shower tomorrow! Two of my friends are due in April so I’m looking forward to a couple of showers soon too π
How funny- I ordered the red and navy bubble and alligator shorts for my twin boys. Great minds think alike!
Have a great time at the baby shower!!
I just got one of my bubbles from Kelly’s Kids by UPS today! I love it! Had to wait on the sizes since GG is growing so but can’t wait to order a bubble in almost every color available! I will be so sad when she outgrows these!
Tons of great options for the new lil’ mister!
Didn’t comment the other day, but you look just beautiful, Erin! Hope you enjoyed your day of decorating!
Love those outfits! I borrowed Crazy Love from a friend and am listening to the audio on tape, haven’t gotten far but so far the beginning is good.
Love kelly kids! I was just looking at that bubble and those shorts last night!! Have been wanting to order forever, but we are not finding out what the sex of our baby is until next week. I kind of wanted to dress my toddler in the matching striped polo and get the baby the striped bubble. is that cheesy? I have plenty of reasons to buy new things for this new baby since they are born in dif seasons, but I say definitely get a few new things esp for this baby!
I agree about Steven Tyler & J.Lo. She seems so gracious & beautiful – without being over the top. I think the one I’m rooting for is the woman who’s child is deaf (I’m a deaf educator). Hopefully she’ll go far! Side note…does that little onesie with the “M” on it give us a hint on the new baby’s name?! π
Ha! Ha! I’ve never watched American Idol (DW does) but I tuned in this time to see what the new cast of judges were like. I have to admit, I like Steven Tyler for his lack of filter. But that’s only because I have the same problem. DW and I have LAUGHED and LAUGHED at that girl who wore the bikini top with the stars right on the front of her chest…when ST said, “What’s with the joo-joo-bees on your who-who-bees?” I couldn’t breathe. I admit, I liked JLo, too. She’s like Paula in that she’s kinda the sweet one, but she’s actually coherent (sp?).
Was the name you chose the one you mentioned at West Egg?
Love the sweet spring clothes for Hudson. I have done the same about spring clothes for my daughter. I’m tired of looking at winter clothes. The colors for spring are so much more appealing.
