monday updates!

After a fun Saturday night out with some friends to a great restaurant, our weekend took a turn.

We had a rough day yesterday. We were on our way to church (why are Sunday mornings always so eventful and stressful before church?) and Hudson threw up in the car. He hadn’t been feeling great anyway but his ear infections were gone.

So we came on home and cleaned him up, did lots of laundry, and just held and rocked Hudson for a few hours.

Then he started getting hotter and hotter and I decided we needed to take him to the pediatric urgent care clinic. His chest was so rattly and I was getting really scared.

The doctor told us that his ears looked terrible- again- but also that the crackling sound in his chest was alarming. He wrote us a prescription for an x-ray and wanted to check for pneumonia. So we went to the emergency room and little Hudson had his chest x-rayed. I was struggling to fight back the tears as I held my sweet little boy. He just wanted to cuddle and go to sleep. He never complained. But it just reminded me that it is our job as parents to speak for them and always look out for them.

Thank the Lord, the x-ray didn’t show anything abnormal and Hudson doesn’t have pneumonia. He was also tested for RSV and doesn’t have that either. Just a chronic ear infection- again- and big time congestion. He got an antibiotic shot and I’m praying that it works quickly and Hudson is back to his happy self tomorrow!

After we got Hudson to bed (at 6:30! He was tired!) we settled in to watch the Golden Globe red carpet show and awards. I love awards shows. I decided to put down my favorites for best dressed from last night’s red carpet. Hopefully none of them show up on the Worst Dressed list!

While these are my favorites, I can’t say that any of them knocked my socks off. I love Dianna Agron’s hair and makeup- she looks flawless. I loved seeing Mandy Moore on the red carpet and in such a gorgeous color. Kyra Sedgwick always knows how to do color and accessorize. Claire Danes has the perfect figure for that simply gorgeous dress and I am loving her hair.

Anne Hathaway in Armani Prive’, Lea Michele in Oscar de la Renta, Olivia Wilde in Marchesa, Mandy Moore in Monique Lhuillier

Claire Danes in Calvin Klein Collection, Kyra Sedgwick in Emilio Pucci, Eva Longoria in Zac Posen, and Dianna Agron in J. Mendel

And because I love a good baby bump right now, I wanted to show my favorite prego red carpet dress of the night! Jane Krakowski in Badgley Mischka. I love that she accentuates the bump.

How was your weekend? Did you watch the Golden Globe awards? Who was on your best dressed list?

Hudson and I will be laying low most of the week to make sure he is back to 100%. It’s so sad to have a sick baby.

I was wondering what you would think of Anne Hathaway’s dress!!! I did not care for it at all!!!!! Great picks for your favorites though. Loved Claire Danes!!! Hope H gets to feeling better. Poor thing!!

Oh no, poor Hudson! I hate when babies get sick – they feel so bad and do not know what is happening. If I am ever unsure, I always bring Kate in. I bet my pediatrician’s office knows my number by heart πŸ˜‰

I love the orange on Kyra Sedgwick – very fun πŸ™‚

I’m so sorry Erin! Have they mentioned tubes yet for Hudson? Walker had chronic ear infections for months and once we got the tubes, he never had another one. And although taking my little guy to have surgery was a little scary, I would tell anyone to do it in a second! Hope he gets better soon!

Sorry for a scary Sunday!!! Sick children have a way of doing that. I always go into panic mode when Hudson is sick. If he’s having chronic ear infections, say YES when/if your dr mentions tubes. Yes, I was concerned about the anesthesia, but it has been WONDERFUL since Hudson got them in October. He kept an ear infection until then, but has not been sick since October!!! Its been wonderful! The tube surgery literally took 15 minutes. It is so quick & easy. Hope ya’ll have a better week!

I’m so sorry to hear Hudson is so sick =( I hope he gets to feeling better soon!!

I really adored Lea Michele’s pink dress and Olivia Wilde’s — though I wish she would have done her hair differently.

I had seen your tweet an was praying for little dude. Hope he is feeling better today.

Thanks for doing a dress post, you always pick the best ones. I didn’t get to watch last night with all the driving and moving. I just love Eva’s dress, that blue is amazing on her. Still sad I missed Miss America!

Poor Hudson and poor parents! We went through the same thing with our 13-month-old last weekend. Turned out that our little guy had a double ear infection and pneumonia. Thankfully, the antibiotic worked quickly and he is all better. I know Hudson will also be feeling better soon. Good meds and good hugs work wonders!

Poor Hudson, I can’t imagine how hard it would be to have a sick little guy! I hope he’s feeling much better today.

I loved so many of the celebs last night, but I think Anne Hathaway, Mandy Moore, and Kyra Sedgewick might be my top 3!

Claire Danes looked AMAZING – so classy! But who is THAT thin? It’s crazy to think the camera adds 10 lbs, isn’t it?

Jane’s bump is adorable and I love, love, LOVE the color of that dress!

    Hope Hudson feels better soon!

I loved Mandy’s dress. That shade of blue is perfect for her! I also really liked Carrie Underwood’s dress (which I’m so surprised you didn’t comment on). I enjoyed the style of Lea’s dress, but the pink reminded me of bubble gum or pepto-bismol. I did not care for Anne’s dress. I was disappointed because she’s usually such a style icon.

Hope little Hudson is feeling better!

I am feeling your pain. Both my boys have RSV and one has ear infections on top of the RSV! It’s sad when the babies are sick πŸ™

    Loved:
Emma Stone in a polished Calvin Klein.
Loved Eva in Zac Posen and Mandy in Monique.
Mila Kunis in a custom Vera.
    Sandra Bullock in Jenny Packham.

Hope your little fella is feeling better!

    Hoping Hudson gets better!

Ear infections are no fun. I had them frequently as a young child and eventually had tubes put in my ears.

    Praying for him!!!!!

You’re poor Hudson – I’m so glad that it wasn’t anything more serious!

I loved your picks…and I agree, it was great to see Mandy Moore (and Carrie Underwood) on the Red Carpet.

I hope Hudson feels better soon. Mac started throwing up with his ear infections right before we finally got tubes. So glad it was not RSV or pneumonia. Which by the way if tubes get mentioned, they were the best thing ever for our son. We are headed to round two now that the first set have fallen out and the ear infections have started back up.

Poor Hudson! He must feel so lucky to have such loving parents πŸ™‚ Hopefully he’s on the road to recovery!

I completely agree – none of the dresses really wowed me this year. I was hoping for something spectacular from Halle Berry or Julianne Moore. Hmpf. Maybe they’re saving it for the Oscars!

Oh my goodness Erin, I’m so sorry. Poor little Hudson. πŸ™ I’ll be praying for him!

I agree from what I’ve seen regarding the Golden Globes, no one was exceptionally dressed. πŸ™ I really liked Olivia Wilde, but her dress also reminded me of the prom dresses that were popular when I was in high school!

My older son (now 9) had more ear infections than I can count. He ALWAYS threw up with his ear infections! YUCK! But he finally grew out of them at about 2 1/2 years old. Hope he is feeling better:)

Oh, I also meant to say that my son #2 (he’ll be 2 in March) has only had 2 ear infections in almost 2 years. So, I did have a completely different child!!! It’s so weird to take him to the doctor and for them to say, “His ears look fine.” That never happened with #1 son. Any time he had a cold, he also had an ear infection.
