During the night last night, I woke up to the sound of some pretty loud thunder. I knew that it was supposed to snow, but the sounds outside were kind of frightening. I woke up around 5:00 a.m. and went to the window to look outside. Everything was covered in a gorgeous blanket of snow and it was still coming down!
When we woke up this morning it was still snowing and even deeper. We don’t get snow that often in South Carolina, so it’s always really exciting. Typically, life shuts down due to the snow, so we don’t really have the pains of driving in it and all that comes with that. It’s just like a little vacation in a winter wonderland.
Hudson’s school was canceled and TC didn’t have to be in court because the county offices were all closed. So we’ve had an exciting day! I made breakfast and hot chocolate and I made chili for lunch.
We all got outside in our boots and the best snow gear we could find for South Carolina residents. Boudreaux had the time of his life!
Hudson was very proud to be wearing his boots and kept saying “boots, boots, boots!” And if the snow covered his boots he would bend down to dust them off.
He didn’t really want to play in it, but he was trying to dust the snow off his playset so he could use his slide. Then his mittens kept coming off, but he didn’t seem to mind. We wouldn’t let him stay out there without his mittens, so we’d put them back on him and they’d fall off again.
We eventually decided we needed to come in so Hudson’s clothes could dry off and then we could eat lunch. We promised him that we’d take him back outside this afternoon, but the tears came anyway. He was so sad to have to come back inside from the snow. It’s safe to say he loves it!
But I don’t think anyone loves it as much as this guy!
p.s. There aren’t any pictures of Fiona in the snow because Fiona kind of refused to let her paws hit the snow.

Happy Snow Day from our house to yours!

what a beautiful snow day! i know i could use some more play time in the snow these days 🙂
How pretty! Love the picture of your house. Hudson is adorable! Love the pictures of Boudreaux, too! My dogs hate the snow.
Ahhh, how fun!! I was out of town until late last night, so, I missed all the snow fun in Dallas. It’s still icy and there’s still some on the ground here, but, nothing too exciting. My dogs too refuse to go outside in it–such babies! Looks like y’all are having a great time!
What fabulous pictures! Looks like you guys had lots of fun in the snow. And Hudson is absolutely adorable. I especially love the picture of your home–so beautiful! It looks like the perfect place to snuggle and stay warm in the cold snowy weather.
I am cracking up at Boudreaux! Our dog acted just like that. Hilarious!
That picture of H in the snow smiling just melts my heart. What a sweet boy!
Enjoy your snow day with your family!
Great photos! What a fun time…love the pics of your pup in the snow! Bogey loves the snow too!
Omigosh I am cracking up at Boudreaux, he is LOVING the snow!! I’m so jealous of all your snow!! I want a snow day so bad!!! So fun that your little family got to play in it together, what a special memory.
Hudson is so cute in the snow , and your house is absolutely gorgeous! Stay warm on this snowy day!!!
Your home looks absolutely perfect in the slow- it’s so charming! How special that you were able to share a snow day with Hudson- since they’re few and far between here in the south. My husband and I are off of work today ourselves in Nashville.
Our puppy LOVES the snow, too! He had a blast playing in it and running around. Hudson looked precious. What a fun time for your whole family to enjoy the snow together!
I love how excited your dog was to be outside! And Hudson all dressed up is just beyond cute!
I love that all the south is getting covered in snow it’s so much more exciting to see those pictures than when we up in Illinois get it. Have fun out there! And stay warm!
We had 8″ in Huntsville! Beautiful and so fun. We had a similar experience….babies in the snow, dog playing, and chili for lunch!
what a great way to spend the day! snow is also a rare treat here in Gulf Coast Texas, so whenever it does come down, the whole city comes to a standstill…..great photos, and what a gorgeous house you have!
Looks like you had a great day!! Glad Todd got to spend it at home with you guys 🙂
SO fun and SO pretty!!!!!!! 🙂
Thunder snow! How cool! That definitely doesn’t happen much here in the south. We’re still waiting for our snow in Raleigh. It’s happening all around us, but we’re in a bubble of no snow. Very disappointing! I’m not excited about all the ice we’re supposed to get tonight. I just don’t want to lose power.
I hope you continue to have a wonderful Snow Day!
so pretty!! looks like Hudson had fun! Our isn’t thick and pretty right now (or this time around)…but I’m hoping that changes soon!
love it! we just got a little bit of snow, not enough to play in. enjoy your snow days!
Your home looks so cozy blanketed in snow. And Hudson looks like he’s having a ball! As for Boudreaux, his Golden cousins up here in Pennsylvania (my parents’ dogs Sadie and Layla) also LOVE the snow. Of course, they get to see it more often than your guy. Happy snow day to you!!
This has been a rare winter for SC indeed! I’m in Florence, so we’ve enjoyed our snow day, too!
First of all…as always…I’m obsessed with your house. Second, Boudreaux is so stinking cute it’s insane. I know he and Sam would be besties. And then Hudson…he is just growing so fast! I love all of the pics. Oh, and I love that TC is out there playing with him. What a good daddy!
So jealous of all the snow you got:) Hudson looks so cute in his snow gear! I love that he would dust snow off his boots;) so presh!!! I LOVE YOUR house! I know I have told you that before but it is just so cute
Erin,
It looks like you had a fun snowday too! We were shocked when we looked out this morning and we were covered in snow. I knew the weather had forecasted snow but I just thought we would get s sprinkle, nothing like what we got! So funny that Hudson loved the snow so much and wanted to dust off the snow from his boots- ha! Sounds like my son, Ryder, who will say “Mess!” when he sees a mess or if he makes a mess. GREAT pictures! Have a great week 🙂
Laura
I lOVE the pictures of Boudreaux!! He is beautiful!
You have the MOST darling little house. Thanks for posting the photos. Sometime you should do a post just of photos of the outside of your house. It would be fun to see it in different seasons. 🙂
We have about 8″ in North Mississippi – it is so pretty! My son, whose Hudsons age, has loved it too. Thankfully Santa thinks we live in th North Pole because he brought a snow suit the last two years and a little sled this year as well. He has LOVED us pulling him around on the sled – and going down a pretty big hill too. He won’t keep his mittens on though, so once he’s in the sled I have to put his hands in his pockets. So fun!!
It sounds like you all had a great snow day and how fun that everyone got to stay home a play today! Hudson is adorable in the snow, he looks so happy 🙂 Your house looks beautiful in the snow. Enjoy your day!
Your house is straight out of a magazine – it’s gorgeous…such a quaint home!
I just love your house. It has so much character! And the dog in the snow is so fun! We have a chihuahua and she HATES it.
Your house looks SO gorgeous in that wonderful blanket of snow! What a FUN snow day!!
OH.MY.GOSH! Everyone looks so cute all bundled up! And the dog?! SO cute! 🙂 Glad you enjoyed your snowy day! Sounds like here in Ohio we’re getting hit tomorrow!
Cute pictures! We live in GA too and enjoyed the snow day with our little guy. Maybe we will get another one tomorrow?

Yay for a snow day!! Sounds like you had tons of fun as a family! Your golden is SO sweet running around in the snow! It makes me want to take our lab to snow and see what his reaction is =) Your home is stunning and picture perfect covered by some snow =)
Your house is darling!
Look at all these cute photos! B looks like Layla in the snow. She goes nuts and runs and grunts and acts like a puppy. It cracks us up.
Happy snow day 🙂
Hudson looked so cute out in the snow; I love his chubby little cheecks! My son is 7 and he LOVES his boots, too. When he was a toddler I got him a pair of green ones that had a cute froggy face on the front and he has refused to let those go even now; each year I go to Target and get him a pair in a bigger size. I don’t know what I will do if they ever decide to discontinue them, lol. I am glad your family had a fun snow day; we live in central ga and only got ice 🙁

What a terrific snow day!! Hudson is adorable as always….looks like your doggie had the most fun though..Love, love, love your home!
It’s always nice to have an unexpected day of fun! Looks like y’all took advantage of it 🙂 Hudson is so cute.
Sounds like you guys had a great family day. That’s how it used to be for me when we’d have a snow day growing up in Michigan. And, we’d have plenty so it was always fun!
Buddy and his long lost Cajun cousin need to have a play date! Budster was loving the snow- and dying to go sledding with all the kids on our street. Hudson is too cute- loving his boots! Adorable!
That first picture of Boudreaux and Hudson is adorable. You can just tell Boudreaux is ready to play!
I love how happy Boudreaux is in the snow!! And your house is about the cutest house I’ve ever seen. Absolutely adorable!
LOVE the pics! How cute Hudson and Boudreaux look playing together in the snow. 🙂
I’m jealous of your fun, cuddly, warm, snowy day. Up here they’re prepared for it so we never get to stay home and enjoy it unless it’s the weekend.
I never can decide who I think H looks more like….you or TC. Either way, he’s a cutie!
Fiona is such a diva! Love those pictures of Hudson and B in the snow.. too cute! here’s to hoping the weathermen are correct.. i’m patiently waiting for our “1-4” inches in Maryland!!
Hi! I’m a new follower of your blog! It was recommended to me by Lacey (VanEngelen) Long – I went to high school with her. I actually live in Charleston, SC. Would love for you to check out my blog as well and follow if you would like – http://www.theprincessmommydiaries.blogspot.com. This post is great about the SC Winter Storm! LOL, I woke up to my car covered in a layer of ice yesterday! Very random for Charleston, SC!
Yeah so can I just have your house? Maybe you should just move out and rent it to me.
