I have to apologize to all of you for my recent posts and my attempts at justifying lists and brain dumps as actual blog posts. Nothing seems to be too terribly blog-worthy right now, but there is a lot going on. I also don’t intend to tell you all how busy I am and what I’m up to.
But in the spirit of “Erin’s pregnancy makes her write lame posts,” let’s just keep the theme going for a little while, okay? Thanks for your support!
1. I am turning 28 years old tomorrow. And all I want for my birthday is a cookie cake. This is not a joke and I told TC a few weeks ago that the only thing I could even think of that I want for my birthday is a cookie cake. I’m pretty sure he’s going to come through for me. He’s always been a terrific gift-giver- even when I let him “off the hook” and say, “no gifts this year, okay?” He always breaks the rules and does something really sweet and special.
2. I’m doing my monthly sponsor post this week and I am so very excited to share some crazy fun deals with all of you who want to get a head start on buying your Christmas presents!
3. I’m so excited about it that I’m going to share my favorite deal of all with you right now! See the little button in my sidebar that says “Cookbook Marketplace?” Remember how much I love Junior League cookbooks and great old standby cookbooks? Well, the Cookbook Marketplace sells some of the best cookbooks ever written and they’re offering Blue-Eyed Bride readers a 50% off discount for November and December! I can’t think of a better Christmas gift, wedding gift, or shower gift. Maybe you want to stock up for wedding gifts for 2011?
I have about 15 Junior League cookbooks and some other great titles that are perfect go-to books for me, and my kitchen would not be complete without them.
Just visit The Cookbook Marketplace and enter BEB-Holiday at checkout to receive your incredible discount!
4. I’m feeling a little bit guilty because as soon as Hudson goes down for his nap every day, I start scrambling around to tidy up so I can rest on the sofa for about an hour. Yesterday, though, Hudson took a longer than usual nap and I slept the whole time. But I also was really sick yesterday and even the Zofran wasn’t helping me.
5. We’re leaving for our Thanksgiving trip next week and when I return I’ll be in the midst of Junior League Holiday Market madness. I’m thinking of going ahead and setting up my Christmas tree early next week just to have it standing so I can slowly decorate when we return. I can’t believe Christmas is almost here!
I hope you all have a great day! Keep your fingers crossed for me that I end up with my cookie cake tomorrow!
I am 100% sure you’ll end up with that cookie cake, but if you don’t, just let me know, and I’ll bring one to you 😉 Happy early birthday! I hope your day is just wonderful and that pesky nausea leaves you alone for at least a day.
BTW, I’m back to blogging- I’d had a long enough hiatus!
A cookie cake sounds amazing!! Happy early bday!! I hope you feel better soon!
Happy early birthday, sweetie! I hope tomorrow is fabulous! And I like the “brain dump”/random list posts!
I hope you get your cookie cake, they are the best thing ever. I got one for my birthday a few years ago and it was the best birthday ever. Ha. Seriously, it was. I loved that thing.
Ohh, and thanks for the info on the Cookbook Marketplace, I love JL cookbooks and that will make some awesome Christmas gifts, thank you!
You mention a Junior League cookbook from Lousiana frequently. Which cookbook (s) is (are) are favorites?
I too am preggers, and can I just say that the highlight of my week was going to the mall on Saturday and realizing that Mrs. Fields sells cookie cakes by the slice!! I scarfed down that slice in a second, and it was the best thing ever! Happy early bday — enjoy that cookie cake!
This is an awesome discount, thank you! I’m SO excited to do some shopping. You’re so right, cookbooks make fabulous gifts!! Hope you get to feeling better very soon, enjoy your special day tomorrow, indulge in every last crumb of your cookie cake!!
Yum cookie cake. And advance happy birthday! Is what you’re busy with a secret?
No, no secrets. Just busy with Junior League Holiday Market planning, chasing Hudson, getting ready for Christmas music at church, trying not to be too sick… 🙂
Love it! I asked my hubby if he’d mind if I started decorating for Christmas now. There must be something about being pregnant right now and needing to decorate for the holidays. Have a happy birthday tomorrow!
ps…all I want now is Baskin Robins mint chocolate chip ice cream!
I could eat a cookie cake right now.
Hope you’re birthday is amazing!
I saw the Cookbook Marketplace coupon code last week. Lo and behold, they have the Junior League of Raleigh cookbook, and I am on the cookbook committee! I can’t get them at the price they are selling them, so I ordered 7 for all of the aunts, grandmas, etc. on my Christmas list. What a great deal! Happy birthday tomorrow!
We have more in common than I knew – my b-day is Friday (but I’ll be 30, eek!). Hope your birthday is fab and you feel better soon. My all-day sickness is finally lifting at 15 weeks so I have the utmost sympathy.
BTW- I am a member of the JL of Sarasota and I must recommend our cookbook “Simply Sarasota” – it’s wonderful!!
Happy early birthday! I hope your cake is as great as I’m sure your pregnancy cravings are making it out to be!!
Happy early birthday! I hope it is a great day!
Yum! Love cookie cake!
Shug, you better not be feeling the least bit guilty- you are growing a baby! And chasing after another one! Naps are good for the soul. And the body. And the brain. And increase my ability to be nice to people!
I need to stock up on some JL cookbooks for my project- okay on upcoming posts if I link to your cookbook sale? Also, how is the playroom coming along? Send me pics when you get a chance- or have you posted them already?
Happy early birthday girl!! I love cookbooks too. I gave PW’s cookbook to all of the girls in my fam last year. Definitely going to take a look at the website you’re suggesting!
Enoy that cookie cake. 🙂 And you should NOT feel bad for resting when your boy is resting. You’re pregnant and need all the rest you can get. Amelia has been sick and I’m exhausted. When she’s sick – I nap whenever she does. I hope you feel better soon.
Aw! Happy Birthday sweet girl. Praying for that sickness to be short-lived.
Happy early Birthday!!! I love JL Cookbooks too. If you haven’t seen it, check out the “True Grits” cookbook from the Atlanta Junior League. It’s beautiful and delicious. Enjoy your cookie cake. That’s my favorite too.
Man, what a lame post 😉 I kid, I kid… Happy early birthday and hope you get to feeling better soon!! Take as many naps as you need to so you can gear up for tomorrow. You’ll need all that energy to devour your cookie cake! xoxo
Erin, I just tried the code and I couldn’t get it to work! I typed in BEB-Holiday!
Happy 28th Birthday, Erin! 11/11 is such a neat birthday. Enjoy your day!
Happy Early Birthday Erin!!! I pray it’s totally blessed…and The Cookie Cake is a sure deal – who could refuse a pregnant mom anything her “tummy desires”!
All the best,
Anne

I love that all you want is a cookie cake! 🙂 My sisters 21st birthday is tomorrow and her favorite thing is cookie cake too! It must be a November 11th birthday thing! I hope you have a wonderful day tomorrow! 🙂
Hi Bree – I see from your above post that you’re having trouble with the promo code for the cookbook sale.
Did you type in BEB-Holiday or BEB-Holiday!
If you put an exclamation at the end, remove it and enter just BEB-Holiday – that should work.
If not, send me a direct email (apritchard@frpbooks.com) and I’ll get my tech people to look into it. We don’t want you missing out on even one day of our best discount for Erin’s friends!

Happy early birthday! I hope it’s a great one!
Cookie cakes are THE best 🙂 Hope you get one!!
BEST cookie cake around – http://www.shipacookie.com. It’s a place in Atlanta called Ali’s Cookies and is where I order my husband’s birthday cake every year. We’re in Raleigh, so I pay a little more for it, but it is SO good! Try it out – you’ll be hooked just like us!
Happy Birthday for tomorrow! I think you deserve to be having naps during the day- you’ve got a little baby growing in there, so take a little bit of time out for yourself! 🙂 Hope you get your cookie cake- I got my Hubby one of those for V Day 🙂
I still love your brain dump posts, so no worries. A hodge-podge bulleted post is all I seem to manage lately too!
Happy early birthday, I hope you get that cookie cake tomorrow!!!
Man! You were def. bad off if the Zofran didn’t help! That was my little gift from God! But, I did on occasion still get sick if I ate things like, red meat! Hope that gets better soon– and you don’t get stuck with it for the entire pregnancy like me!! (that stunk!)
Happy Birthday! Enjoy that cookie and hope you are feeling better soon!
Happy early birthday!!!!! Cookie cake sounds delicious! I hope you enjoy it.
Also I sort of like the brain dump posts. I hope your nausea gets better!
Happy Birthday from another 11/11 birthday. (28+1 here)
Hey Erin! Sorry that I don’t message very often but I do try to keep up! I am so excited about the new addition coming..and I sure hope that the sickness doesn’t last very long for you! As I am actually writing this ON your birthday.. I hope you get your cookie cake and I hope you have a wonderful birthday!
Lynn from Florida
I like anything you write. It’s your blog, post away!! We are busy, task-oriented women, all of us, and we tend to get through our day with lists. If your blog contains lists of things, thoughts, ideas….well, that’s just how we compute some days! Put it all out there – chances are, we’re thinking the same thing you’re thinking, in the same way! I hope you’re thinking about how good your cookie cake tastes today!! Happy, happy birthday!!!
I highly recommend putting up your tree early. Just having the lights on before the rest of the decorations will get you in the spirit while you’re doing all the holiday make-ahead cooking, and you can do the rest a little bit at a time. And a very happy birthday!
Happy Birthday, hope it’s a very special day!
Happy Birthday! I hope you have a fabulous day and an even better year!
I’ve never tried a cookie cake, but maybe I will. : – )
Happy belated birthday! I do hope you got your cookie cake too. Hope you’re feeling better and I can’t wait to see photos of your holiday decorating. I cannot believe how quickly the holidays are approaching – I need a pause button!
