hello, again!

I can’t believe it has been a week since my last blog post. I always miss the interaction, but the break was nice. And if I’m not careful, I could very easily take another break this week! We haven’t been up to a whole lot, but I thought I’d share the highlights with you! Hudson is feeling so much better and seems to be back to 100% wild child, so I do appreciate all of your thoughts and prayers!

Big Date Day

TC and I needed some time to ourselves on Saturday to just relax, but we wanted to get out and do something. Or not do something. We asked TC’s parents if they could hang out with Hudson because we wanted to go see a couple of movies. One of things I miss most about our pre-Hudson days are just going to the movies. I always have a long list of movies I want to see, so we decided to see two movies on Saturday.

We dropped Hudson off at his grandparents’ house on Saturday morning and then we went to see Life As We Know It. I’m definitely a movie crier, but I can hold it together if it’s not all that emotional. I was crying all throughout this movie. It was so cute and so touching. And TC was even laughing out loud at certain parts. So I didn’t feel so bad for him having to sit through a chick flick.

After the movie was over, we had exactly two minutes to get to the theater across the hall to see The Town. This movie was so exciting and so smart. And my long-time crush on Ben Affleck and my new crush on Jon Hamm were both satisfied with this movie. TC and I both loved it and I would see it again right now!

After the movies, we went to Starbucks and then had about an hour to kill, so we walked around Best Buy. Which is one of our favorite things to do. We ran to pick up Hudson and rushed home to start watching the Gamecocks take on Kentucky. And that didn’t end well and that’s all I’m going to say about that. I’ve almost recovered from my frustration just in time for us to play again this weekend. It’s tough being a Gamecock fan!

Spending the day together was absolutely wonderful and we both kept giggling about how relaxed we felt and how nice it was to just take a day to enjoy each other’s company.

State Fair

On Sunday night, we went to the South Carolina State Fair with some friends. It was Hudson’s first trip to the fair and he really just hung out in his stroller the whole time. We ate some fair food and got some lemonade and just walked around for a bit. The fair used to be so much more fun when I was younger. Even just two years ago when I didn’t have a child and could ride the crazy fair rides without having to consider my child. But I had no desire to get on a ride and even the corn dog wasn’t as great as I remember. I’m such a fuddy duddy.

My mom is heading down to MD Anderson this week for some scans and a visit with her doctor. I still need to write Hudson’s 16 month post, which is almost a month late now, but this is a start back at blogging!

I hope you’ve all had a great week!

I ugly cried all throughout Life As We Know It. It just hit a cord with me now that I have a baby. The first birthday, when the parents died, her milestones…. oh, it hurt my heart. Great movie but very very sad.

Glad you and TC were able to have a fun Date Day–that’s so important! I’ve been wanting to see both those movies–now I have even more motivation to do so. I went to the State Fair of Texas over the weekend, rode ONE ride and got my booty kicked! And I don’t even have children yet! A sign I’m truly getting older? Yes. But, it was still fun. Even if I felt off kilter the rest of the night. Ha.

I really want to see both those movies, even more now! And I couldn’t agree more about the fair.. I think I may be over it. My corndog kinda sucked and the crowd is just too much for me.

I saw you and your cute hubby at Starbucks on Saturday! I was wondering if that was you. I didn’t want to seem all weird stalker-ish and say anything. Plus, it would have been akward if it wasn’t you.

You’re date-day sounds sweet and fun. I’m glad you got to spend time together, relax and have fun. I need to get a sitter so Jason and I can do that.

I loved The Town and can’t wait to see Life As We Know It. Might have to try to see it on a weekend day (I cannot for the life of me stay up past 8pm) 🙂

So glad you and TC got some good, relaxing time for yourselves!

    xoxo

I LOVED Life as we know it. My hubby really enjoyed it as well. We went on Saturday as well for my b-day. I had such a hard time not crying like a baby, but I have this weird quirk of not liking crying in public theaters, that’s why I usually save the REALLY sappy movies for when they’re released to DVD 🙂

I feel so much better that I’m not the only one behind on baby’s monthly posts! Mac and Hudson both have their month-a-versaries on the 5th, so I’m quite relieved that we’re both a bit slow on those this month. Hope you’re having a great week, friend!

welcome back 🙂 i loved “Life As We Know It” so much that I saw it twice! the NC state fair is happening now, too, and i’m headed there this weekend…is there anything better than sitting in a movie theater watching a great flick or walking around and people watching while eating something fried? I don’t think so! ha!

I hope your mom’s scan results are ok!

If you liked The Town, you should see Gone Baby Gone, if you haven’t yet. It stars Casey Affleck, and is so good! I think it’s the same director too.

Glad you got some QT with your hubby, and glad you’re back to blogging 🙂 Funny, one of my husband’s favorite things in the world to do is walk around best buy…he LOVES that place!

    1) Totally want to see both of those movies!
    2) My hubby and I often just wander around Best Buy or an office supply store. Hehe. Nerd alert.
    3) I went to the NC State Fair this past weekend! It’s so funny that you weren’t really a big fan of the fair this year because I felt the same way. I don’t even have kids, but the food wasn’t that great and it was just kinda of blah this year.

I am so incredibly jealous of your double movie date! I can’t even get Nick to see one movie, let alone two in one day! I’m dying to see both of those and am so happy to hear you enjoyed them both.

My hubs and I went to the movies last Friday night. I wanted to see The Social Network, but he wanted to see The Town. He won…but really I did. Jon Hamm and Ben Affleck (very buff, and slightly graying Ben Affleck, no less) made the movie much more enjoyable! It was a great night with my hubby…but I didn’t mind 2 hours with those other two men at all! 😉

I really, really, really want to see ‘Life as We Know It’ but my husband and I just haven’t had a free moment yet (and we don’t even have kids yet). Ha, ha. But it sounds sooo good, so I need to make sure we see it this weekend!!

Sounds like a great weekend. It is wonderful that you and TC got to have a date night. It is so very important to have those occasional dates with just the two of you.

I LOVED “life as we know it.” LOVED–Definitely earned a spot on my top 10 list of rom coms… and I’m a pretty discerning viewer. 🙂 I am obsessed with the house in the movie too… I started a little sleuthing and found out the house is for SALE!! it could be mine for the bargain price of $1.8 mil. Such is the pricetag for frolicking in Buckhead, I suppose. Sads. :/
