Yesterday was a good day. Just as we start every day, Tuesday began with lots of coffee for me and oatmeal for Hudson. We had a fun morning of playing with puzzles and a new toy that I picked up for him. His dexterity is always improving and I’m just amazed by how much he’s learning about shapes, colors, numbers, and letters.
Hudson has really taken to his little monogrammed chair and his little rocking chair that was made especially for him. He loves to climb in his chair, stand up, and then say, “dit down!” (That’s “Hudson speak” for “sit down.”)
He has also started getting out this little baby-sized comforter. He’ll throw it on the floor and sit on it and then he’ll lie down on the floor and cover up with it. He drags it around the house with him and I just think it’s so funny. Pretty soon we’ll be building forts out of blankets and dining chairs.
Hudson’s little vocabulary grows every day. He loves the books that have the picture and the word labeling what the picture is. We have a few of them around here and he at least tries to say every word that I point to.
I’ve also noticed lately that Hudson has taken a strong liking to Boudreaux. They’ve always been pals, but Hudson just loves to cuddle up to Boudreaux. And poor Boudreaux just can’t help himself. Of course he has to lick Hudson.
After Hudson’s morning nap, we met a sweet reader and her two adorable kids at Chick-fil-A for lunch. It was a lot of fun getting to know her and when we found out we had mutual friends we knew we had to get together again soon! Hudson got in the toddler-sized part of the playground at Chick-fil-A. It was his first time and he wasn’t really sure what to think, but once he was in that little airplane he was pretty happy!
I had a fun little treat tonight and had dinner with a good friend of mine and then we went to see The Switch. I just love hanging out with her and am so thankful for good friendships in my life. The movie was adorable and I may have cried just a little bit. I love Jason Bateman (probably because TC loves him) and really appreciate his style of humor. I highly recommend seeing the movie if you want some light-hearted, heart-warming fun.

LOVE Jason Bateman! I think he’s so cute, and you’re right, his sense of humor is great. I used to love him on Arrested Development.
Also, little Hudson and Boudreaux….TO CUTE!! How do you get anything done at home I’d just want to watch the two of them interact all day!
Glad y’all had a great Tuesday, friend!!
Erin! He’s getting soooo big! Love love love thatpic of him and Boudreaux! Absolutely precious! I hope our future children are as close to our furry babies!
Sounds like a FANTASTIC Tuesday to me. And I knew youβd love that movie when I saw on Twitter you were going to go see it. Itβs so cute and light-hearted!! π
I have loved Jason Bateman since “The Hogan Family” and can’t wait to see this movie, Im so glad you gave it a good review! I remember that phase of S wanting to go in the playland at chick fil a and it would never fail, he would always get scared and afraid to come down when I had a skirt on…only then….glad you are having a good summer!
Hi there! Recently started reading your blog and wanted to ask where is the carpet from where Hudson is playing? Matches the coloring in my home and we are in the market for some new rugs. Also I have a little Brussels Griffon named Nigel (you can see a picture of him on my blog).. I read back to understand how you became the owner of one! Don’t you just love her personality? Love reading your blog, so I just wanted to stop by and say hello!
Love those pictures! I don’t know what it is about little kids in diapers, but it gets me every time (as do goldens, let’s be honest). Last night was exactly what I needed, so glad we were able to get our schedules together! Thanks for the “pep talk” and for not judging my propensity for crying π Looking forward to doing it again soon (and providing you with an update). xoxo
Erin,
I cannot get over how cute Hudson is!!! And that picture of him and Boudreaux is adorable!!
I love meeting up with new people – so much fun!!
I cannot wait to see The Switch. I love Jason Bateman! π Glad you had a great Tuesday, friend!
Cutest pictures ever. What a happy little boy.
Hudson + Boudreaux = best buddies. Those pictures are just precious!
I love the picture of him with Boudreaux. I have a question about your dog. I’ve always had labradors, but I’ve heard and read that goldens are much calmer so we’re considering a golden for our daughter. I’ve seen different shades of Goldens and was just wondering if he was a certain type or bloodline? I really like the lighter. Do you mind sharing the breeder or more info? I remember all the dog hair with labs…..I certainly don’t miss that but I realize with a lab or golden it’s just part of it. Thanks!

I didnt link to my blog if you’d rather just reply to the comment…..
Such sweet photos of Hudson and Boudreaux! This is exactly why I love Goldens.
the “boy and his dog” pics are adorable! tooo cute.
awww, huds! he’s so stinkin’ adorable.
and so is your distressed entertainment center. LOVE THAT.
I was listening to the radio yesterday & the djs were ripping Jen Aniston apart, re: “The Switch” and every other rom com she’s made–because she plays the same role in everything. I think her roles are super similar in a lot of the fluff movies, but I really, really want to see “The Switch!” Bad reviews and Aniston-slams aside. I’m excited again, after hearing you enjoyed it!
Love your blog and would love to know where you got the new toy with the ball. That looks like a wonderful toy for my granddaughter for Christmas. What is the name of it? thanks so much !!
I’ve been wanting to see that movie, so glad to hear that it was cute!! Hudson is darling, as always. Love the pictures of him and Boudreaux, so sweet! Your little man is a doll!
So fun to read what Hudson is up to. Gavin tajes a blankie sometimes and does the same thing – puts it on the floor and sits on it and then lays down and covers up with it. Just this week we built our first fort in the living room. It was so fun. He had more fun pulling the blankets down than sitting inside the fort, but he enjoyed it! Keep writing!
Hudson is so adorable! I love the pic of him laying on Boudreaux. So cute!
I’m loving all the pictures of Hudson, he looks so big!! What a fun day! And I really want to see that movie!
Love those pictures!! What a happy, smiling, loving little man you have!
I’m glad he tells himself “dit” down when standing on the chair π Cute picture of him and the dog snuggling!
Love that he and Boudreaux are best buddies. Melt my heart!
Hudson is just adorable! And so good with your dog!
I saw The Switch this weekend and loved it. I’ll definitely be buying this one…
Oh my goodness! He just looks so adorable in his orange and blue outfit. This is not helping my baby fever hehe.
Your little man just looks so happy all the time! Love it.
i love these pictures of huddy and boux. makes me miss you and your happy family a lot. he is growing up so fast, e. i hope i get my auntie fix soon!
xoxo
That little comforter brings back so many memories of when you lay on it! Glad to see Hudson likes it, too.
Boudreaux is the prettiest golden I’ve ever seen, I love his light color. And the pic of Hudson in his chair with the blanket partially covering his face is precious, as is the one of him lounging with Boudreaux π
Owen just got that toy for his bday and he LOVES it! Seriously- I don’t think there is anything cuter than chunky baby thighs. H is too cute!
Love, love, love the sweet pics of H and B! Is there anything more precious than a furry friend? Oh, wait — your baby boy! π
Both Hudson and Boudreaux are so sweet. Love how Hudson just snuggles right up to him and I love how Boudreaux just HAS to lick him. I hope our yorkie Samson is as sweet with our future kids as your dogs are.
I wanted to pop into your archives to say hi… Then I stumbled across this post and started bawling. Ugly cry. THAT BABY! THAT BELLY! Oh, my heart. Little lamb. Love you sister.
