a monday update!

1. The book club questions for chapters 1-10 for The Secret Life of CeeCee Wilkes are posted on Book Beginnings and Bookends. I can’t wait to read your posts!

2. The winner of the Monogram Chick cutting board is #61 Lindsey Doby. Email me at eeakin11@gmail.com to claim your prize!

3. I know I complain about the heat a lot, but I just cannot wait for summer to be gone and for the fall to arrive. I told Todd today that I wanted to put on sweaters, cook some chili, and watch recorded football games on TV just to will the fall season into South Carolina. I can’t wait for Halloween and football games. And cute fall clothes that cover my chubby arms and legs! And I’m looking forward to spending time outside again!

Although when I was looking through fall pictures for photos of Todd and me at South Carolina football games, a lot of the pictures look like this. Here’s hoping this season is a winning season for the Gamecocks!

4. I’m the new hall director for the baby hall at our church nursery on Sunday mornings. So I go to Sunday school and then to the worship service. Then Todd and Hudson go home and I work the third hour in the nursery. It makes for a long, productive morning, and I was exhausted when I got home yesterday. Also– baby fever? I have it. Especially after seeing the wee ones being rocked in the little baby room. Ouch.

5. I’m blogging for the new Baby Einstein blog. I always say that I only endorse products that I absolutely love and Baby Einstein is one of them. Head on over to their new site to check it out.

6. My television addiction is coming back! Now that Rachel Zoe and Jeff Lewis of Flipping Out have come back into my life, I have set dates with Bravo even more now than I used to. Oh, and Mad Men? What’s going on? Why is this season a complete waste of my time? I’m just not feeling it, but hopefully things will turn around because I love that show.

I too am not feeling Mad Men – although I haven’t watched last night’s episode. Which makes me think this is going to be tres disappointing. Ugh.

However, I am PUMPED for more Jeff Lewis in my life. Bring on the drama!

Erin- I found your blog through Buckhead Belle (I think…or some other chain of blogs 🙂 but I love reading it and reading about your sweet baby. Being hall director for the nursery sounds like a BIG job…glad you enjoy it though :)!

Hey friend – your ears should be burning! Went to dinner Friday night with some friends and your blog came up (all good things, of course). You’re quite the little celebrity, haha. Knew you’d want to know though, so thought I would pass along. Will fill you in on the story when I see you tomorrow. Hope you had a good weekend! xoxo, A

I am trying NOT to rush time, but I want Fall here so badly. Keep in mind that I live in Central Florida…… we hardly get a Fall…. and I still am DYING for it to come. I want the new TV shows, low(er) humidity and cool nights, pumpkin pancakes, and so much more.

Speaking of Mad Men, I just picked up the first season on DVD, yesterday. I had a random gift card for a very random video store, so I went in looking for something I’d never seen and wouldn’t BUY myself. Mad Men was there and the perfect price for my gift card, lol.

I think Mad Men always ebbs and flows with its intensity and action. I did laugh out loud when Peggy’s head came peeping up to see what was going on in Don’s office. It has been a slow couple of episodes, but I feel it’s building towards something.

I AM SO READY FOR FALL! Last week I bought new legging and I already have 2 pairs of boots on my list and then I made chili b/c I got so excited about the clothes! And it was delicious, even though I “glistened” throughout the entire cooking / eating process! And then we went to Colorado… and the high was 70 and we used our fireplace at night. I am so so so miserable to be back in this Texas heat! Come on, October!

I LOVE your hairstyle in that picture! I’m saving this so that when I explain to my stylist what I want (I’m growing my hair out as we speak), she’ll know exactly what I want. Love it! Thanks for posting.

I’m glad it’s not just me that’s having Mad Men let-down! I just feel like they changed too much all at once and there’s too much going on to follow all the different stories. We’ll keep watching though!

Your hair is so cute in that picture!
