I didn’t take too many pictures at BlogHer 2010 in NYC, but I took a few. I’ll try to use those pictures to go with my recap. In a nutshell, we had a lot of fun, ate well, were entertained, learned a few things, and tried to figure out the ways of the BlogHer conference. If we choose to go to San Diego in 2011 we may actually know what we’re getting into. I hope a lot of you will come next year, too!
For a full play-by-play recap of how I spent my time at BlogHer, visit Make Mine a Mojito. I think Mojito Maven and I only left each other’s side for about 2 hours the whole time, so her trip recap is pretty stinkin’ accurate for my recap, too! Thanks, MM.
What I learned at BlogHer10:
- My blog is just a little peon in a great big world of blogs. I met a ton of great women and hate to list them all by name because then I’d be more likely to forget someone and embarrass myself.
- Even though my blog is a little peon, I absolutely love all of you that read.
- Writing my blog is a source of entertainment for me and I read blogs for entertainment. Some blogs are much more serious and much funnier than mine is. And I love that with so many different blogs, we can all still be supportive.
- I can have a really great time with two girls I’ve only spent a few days with… and another that I’ve spent lots of time with, especially recently.
- I blog for me and not because I feel like I need to for anyone else. The writing is therapeutic and is hopefully getting better over time.
- Business cards aren’t ridiculous, as I once said, but absolutely useful and I might even say necessary. Also, Penny Lane Designs is amazing for making business cards for me. And so is Lulu!
- When I travel, I don’t shop, but instead spend money on amazing food.
- The Jimmy Dean Sausage sunshine man is pretty cool in person.
- Tamra Barney is very skinny and pretty. Except her face was kind of frozen. She was really friendly, though!
- It’s still fun to get on a bus to go on a field trip. Probably because the field trip was to the Garment District. Blog post on this coming later.
- I’m not too old to play Just Dance on the Wii, pet Marmaduke, or wear a McDonald’s bag on my head.
- I don’t like being away from my family and it’s going to be a really long time before I leave them again. Now that I’m home I can’t stop staring at Hudson and being thankful that he is such a great little boy.
- My mom is absolutely selfless and so great for staying at the house with Hudson so he could be in his comfort zone. And she was so sweet to constantly send me pictures.
I’m already looking forward to San Diego in 2011 and I really hope that lots of you will come. We’re already planning to make a family vacation out of it!

Looks like a ton of fun! I hope to go next year!
Aw, look at Hud and Boudreaux! That kind of gets my pupological and biological clock ticking! I think puppy first. Y’all look so pretty- glad you had a lovely time!

Glad to see that you have a wonderful time. I have never heard about BlogHer. I love your LV bag. Which bag is that? I am in the market for a new one since I have three kids. I need a bag for the shoulder and not the Speedy.
It looks like you had an amazing time!!!! I’m extremely tempted to go to BlogHer next year in San Diego since it’s soooo close… I’ll definietly have to pick your brain about what what all it entails as it gets a little closer! It all just looks like so much fun!
My favorite part of this post was the McDonald’s hats…was there some sort of significance in wearing them? Or the obvious..just being cool?
How fun…so hysterically funny that you met the JD sausage man. He cracks me up.
I love the Jimmy Dean sun guy! And you’re NEVER too old to wear a McDonalds bag on your head. Love that you had fun and were able to enjoy the city with some amazing ladies! And I’m super jealous of you and MM going to the garment district!!!
I love you so much and had so much fun with you on this trip!!
Can’t wait for BlogHer 2011 in SD!
This trip looks like a lot of fun! Good idea about making it a family trip…that is probably the way to go!
Glad you had fun in NY! I am the same way…love to spend money on good food and good drinks when I travel. I’m not a fan of buying “stuff” and then having to trek home with it.
looks like a fun adventure. you and MM look fabulous!
Looks like so much fun! I would have LOVED to be there!
It looks like you had a blast! My firm was there representing a few clients (none of mine, of course)- I wish I could have met you and MM! Maybe in San Fran! 🙂
Looks like you had a great trip! Tamra doesn’t even look like herself! I hope she isn’t pulling a Heidi!
Looks like so much fun! San Diego 2011? I might just have to make that happen!

Great pictures! You and your friends look great in the pictures…Tamra Barney has nothing on you gals!
All of you ladies are so gorgeous, these pictures are fantastic. What a fun trip!
I want to go! Do you have to be married and/or a mother to be a part of BlogHer? I’ve seen the ads everywhere. I’m glad to know that Tamra is friendly. She’s one of my favorites from OC, but I expected her to be a beyotch in person.
BlogHer looks like so much fun! I grew up in San Diego and now live only 2 hours away, so I’m definitely thinking of going next year. 🙂
Looks like you had so much fun! I haven’t been to New York since I was MUCH younger and I would love to go back! Oh, and by the way you look great in the picture with Tamara!
Looks like you had a lot of fun at BlogHer! That’s pretty awesome that you got to meet the Jimmy Dean Sunshine guy! 🙂
I’ve never been to New York City, but I’m like you… if I went, I’d spend ALL of my money on good food! (Well…and maybe just a little on shopping!)
cracking up at the jimmy dean guy. #easilyentertained
