I was given a horse in January 2010 when a dear friend of mine passed away. I had wanted a horse my entire life since I was a young girl but had never been financially able to buy a horse along with all the equipment that came with it. Nicole died in a terrible car wreck on December 28, 2009 and her parents decided to give me her true love, Ella, a pretty thoroughbred X. There’s probably a million albums I could make. I got my wedding album done, but that was the last one I did…here we are, four years later with an 18-month old daughter! There are vacation albums, birthday albums, a “first year” album, I’d love to make a “cookbook” album, with all my favorite recipes and pictures of us eating them, and, what I really want to do, is make an album for my daughter — like an ABC album with pictures of words she is learning. I LOVE Blurb! I have used them to make a few books, my favorite being the one I made that had our wedding vows for our ceremony. It now lives on our coffee table for us to look at from time to time. I’d love to put together a book on the first months of my new baby boy’s life! I’ve got amazing pictures, and not an ounze of desire to start scrabooking. When my grandmother died last year, I inherited all of her recipe cards and books. I felt a little bad about this, because we have many cousins and there are three sisters (my Mom + two aunts) that didn’t get to keep these treasures. I decided I would put together a recipe book with scans of their handwritten notes and recipe cards, but to make it more special, I want to put in photos of Grandma in the kitchen or sharing her treats with us as well. At the very least, I want to make a book like that for my mother, although I’d like to get copies for all the women in our family. My boyfriend and I spent our last term of school abroad and managed to do some travelling while we were there. My mother, who had previously never been to Europe, managed to come and visit us for a couple of weeks and we took her on a tour of scandanavia which was definitely a highlight of her life. She loves showing the pictures to anyone who will sit and listen but she’s been complaining about not being able to remember all the names and the places. I thought that a blurb book would let us put all the photos (with little descriptions about where we went and the funny things that happened to us while we were there) would be the perfect way for her to remember her trip.

I have (been following your blog for the past month and I find your experiences quite interesting! I am a semi-stay at home mom 🙂 – work from home full time and I have a daughter who is the same age as your son, Hudson 🙂 With my hands quite full with the baby and work, I hardly get time to work on any of my pet projects – like starting a blog (instead I jot down my thoughts in notepads ;)), baking, party planning, shopping (hahaha – never get time for this one!).
Even with the limited time, I planned and arranged for an awesome first birthday party for my little girl. And we have beautiful pictures to remember the day. Someday I’d like to make a professional photo book of the party for my daughter to remember the day by!
My son James is 14 months old and I would LOVE to make a book of his first year! =)

I would make a book for my little girl full of pics from her 1st year. I didn’t make a baby book but documented all the milestons (1st tooth, starting baby food, crawling,etc) on my blog. I can add additional pics and use the narrative from my blog to make her a memorable baby book!

Blurb is THE best. I made my first blurb book using all our engagement photos and used it as a guest book at our wedding. It was a HUGE hit. This time I’d love to gather up all the candid shots from our wedding and honeymoon and make them look gorgeous with the help of blurb! I can’t wait to have them all in one spot!

I would definitely save it until the end of the year and then use it for our 2010 book. Since 2006 when our first baby was born, I’ve done one book each year right after Christmas. Mia was born in January, so that made it convenient to start that year with the tradition of one book for one calendar year. I highly recommend this to any new mom! At least the type of mom (like me) that would rather go to the dentist weekly than be forced to “scrapbook” my childrens’ lives. Blurb books make it so easy! Just choose your favorite photos from the year (I usually use upwards of 200, so my books have been 50 or 60 pages. . .which is to say I’m not agonizing over which adorable pictures to use and which adorable pictures to leave in the digital void, you know?), then pop them onto the pages in chronological order, adding captions and brief stories where appropriate, and voila. A concise, chronological record of our family for each year. My husband and I love looking through them a few times a year, looking back on how much the babies have changed (not babies anymore), and Mia (4 and a half) is now old enough to love sitting down with the books and looking at pictures of herself when she was “tiny.” Seriously great stuff. Enough of a record for my OCD tendancies, but not all the work of making fancy, decorated scrapbooks.

My husband and I just returned from our 3rd Anniversary trip to Maui. We have both always wanted to go there and finally were able to. It was so beautiful and amazing. We had a week full of adventure, relaxation, and breathtaking views! My husband loves to take pictures of landscapes and took so many amazing pictures while we were there. He even got me to climb down this huge rock face to see a live blow hole from the sea and several waterfalls! I have been trying to find a way to display them in our home and have started to make a book on several other sites such as kodak gallery and walgreens, but have been frustrated with the lack of customization in their layouts. I want to record the names and memories of the beautiful places we saw. I would love to win a book to be able to make for my husband to always remember this trip of a lifetime!

I’d love for my son, August to get to know his Grandmother (my mom) from a Blurb book. She passed nearly 5 years ago (from breast cancer) and I have been planning to make a book about her so my son could get to “know” all about her. I have pictures scattered all around our home, but a book with pictures and stories would make it fun and hopefully special for him. She was a great lady with a lot to offer her grandson and I know she would appreciate this as much as he would.
I make traditional scrapbooks, but they’re incredibly time-consuming and expensive to put together. With a toddler in the house, I barely get my scrapbook stuff out once every few months. I’ve been meaning to make a book of our home-building process for my husband for the past three years (since we built the house) and this is just the perfect solution!

Great giveaway! I have never used Blurb, but have been wanting to for ages! We don’t have kids, we already have a gorgeous wedding album, so I wasn’t ever sure of what kind of album I’d like to make. Well now I know. I would LOVE to do an album that starts of with my husband and I meeting and leads up to our wedding. Not a wedding album, but a “before the wedding” album. Pictures of when we were dating, when we got engaged, engagement pictures, shower pictures, bachelorette party pictures, planning pictures, etc. All leading to the day we said “I do.”

Photobooks are great! Such a perfect way to document pictures in a way you will actual go look at and reminisce. I would use the book for this past Spring: my last few months living in Florida, graduating law school, turning 25 and a few little things in between!

Making Blurb books on my computer is one of my favourite activities. Unfortunately I have too many ideas to actually put them into action! I just saw this post because I was on my honeymoon! I am in love with blurb, the last time I made one was for My college graduation.
