We had a pretty slow weekend and I loved it. We didn’t have any commitments except for church this morning and lunch afterward. We ended up going to my friend’s birthday pool party last night for a little while and Hudson got to show off the fun things he learned in swim lessons and I got to see my friend! TC is playing a little golf this afternoon and we’ve just really enjoyed having a low key weekend.
I do have a handful of things on my mind today, so here they are.
  • Hudson’s new favorite word is “hey!” He’ll walk into a room and just say it over and over again and it’s such a sweet little sound. It’s also kind of a loud little sound. Today I caught him standing in front of the mirror on the chifferobe in the future playroom, saying “hey” to himself. So funny.

  • After church this morning, a large group for our Sunday school class got together for lunch. Hudson was eating dry Cheerios while we waited on his food to arrive and all of a sudden, he was throwing up. Projectile vomiting onto the restaurant table. Yikes. We have some very loving, very understanding, likely to be childless for many more years thanks to today’s events, friends. Really, if y’all are reading: thanks for being so understanding. TC took Hudson to the men’s restroom to clean him off. There was surprisingly not much on him, but we needed to remove him from “the scene” so I could get it cleaned up. Hudson got sick because he was reaching deep into his mouth to retrieve a Cheerio and gagged. Hopefully he realizes that he shouldn’t do that. This kind of goes hand in hand with last week’s post about bringing Hudson to restaurants. Never imagined that would happen! Β He was feeling fine immediately after. The boy is like his mama and he’ll probably gag when he brushes his teeth.

  • I decided to make a list today of all the home projects I’d like to tackle. I don’t have a deadline or timeline on the projects. I just like to have a list of everything I know I’d like to do and maybe that will stop me from buying an unnecessary dress or a useless pair of new shoes.
  • On Friday I’m leaving for St. Louis! And then next Wednesday I’m leaving for NYC. I’m so excited, but that’s also a lot of time spent away from Hud Bud and TC. The reunion will be sweet!
  • Mad Men Season 4 starts tonight. I’m so excited and seriously cannot wait. I love Don Draper and Betty Draper and I’m so excited to see what happens to the new Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce. And I’m so happy Joan Holloway is back and we’ll be seeing much more of her. I’m just so excited.

  • I’ve lost my Blackberry for the fifth time this month. I always find it, but I can’t stand the hunt and not knowing where it is. I think I hid it from Hudson earlier so he wouldn’t drown it while he chewed on it. But now I have no clue what I did with it. That’s what I get for silencing it during nap time.

“Hey” is actually “Hello” in Swedish, so when you’re in Sweden, they greet you with “Hey” or “Hey hey.” It was so funny because it’s such an informal thing, you know? You don’t usually say “Hey” to a stranger.
And that’s my random tangent for the day.

OMG!! I can only picture the poor little guy gagging and the restaurant scene. Although the “hey” is just too cute!

I’m sooo excited for Mad Men too!

Sounds like a great weekend! I really want to watch Mad Men but haven’t watched much of the first seasons and HATE starting something that I haven’t seen all of:-) Home improvement lists are great too, aren’t they?!

So glad to know I’m not the only one losing my blackberry all of the time! My little one loves to chew on it too. I feel like I am always looking for both that and my debit card (not good things to lose)

I LOVE mad men!!! We still aren’t done with the third season, we have like three more episodes, but we recorded the new episode that was on tonight. I still am re-living the lawn mower scene even though I watched it a month ago. Gah!

My baby chews on my Blackberry too. The keys stopped working last week. I couldn’t type, use the trackball, or even answer a call. Thankfully it magically recovered. Why do babies love Blackberries so much? πŸ™‚

Babies have a super-sensitive gag reflex – it helps them from choking on everything when they first start eating. My son gagged & threw up all the time when he was first starting to eat “real” food. Fortunately they grow out of it quickly. Good luck!

I do the same thing with listing all of the home improvement projects I want to do! It really does help when you are thinking about buying something that you really don’t ‘need’. Finding Hudson saying “hey” is so funny! He is the cutest! πŸ™‚

I am a newcomer to your blog, and I just love it! Truly, I look forward every day to “catching up” with you πŸ™‚ Your remark about your home project list stuck in my head because I recently made a similar list. This morning, as I was about to purchase all kinds of lovelies from J Crew’s final sale (30% off!!!) I thought about fact that the money I was about to spend would pay for a few of the items on my home project list and…I closed my J Crew shopping bag without spending a penny! It really does work! Good luck with your projects, and I hope you will post pictures as you cross things off your list. Have a wonderful day πŸ™‚

I love the “hey” thing. It sounds so cute. Our son, who is now 6, used to have an issue with throwing up if he gagged or had a bad coughing fit. Like you said, I guess it has to do with their gag reflex. I am sorry that happened though and hope it does not happen very often in the future. What a mess. Oh, and Mad Men was good last night, wasn’t it?

This is random, but you know what the BEBurrito’s “hey” pictures remind me of? That scene in Breakfast at Tiffany’s, when Holly Golightly is having a party in her apartment, and all the people are being wild and crazy… There is that one scene where the lady is so intoxicated that she’s talking to herself in the mirror? One minute she’s laughing at herself talking to herself, and the next minute she’s hysterically crying at what she’s saying to herself. It makes me giggle out loud every time I see it, and Hudson’s photos REALLY made me giggle. What a precious boy.
    xoxo

I love watching Mad Men but can’t stand Don Draper! He is the worst person like… ever! Mean, snide, disloyal, arrogant, and doesn’t care about his wife or children!
