I woke up this morning and checked Twitter like I always do. The Today Show, ENews, People, and Us Weekly had all tweeted that Bristol Palin and Levi Johnston are engaged. Seriously? Bristol? (I’ll go ahead and assume that Bristol Palin is, in fact, reading this.)
This is the same Levi who has said horrible things about your family. He posed for Playgirl. He is and will always be the father of your precious son, but that doesn’t mean that you have to marry him. You have lived a year with your baby without being married to him.
I know that it’s always best if the child’s parents end up happily together in these situations. And I know that it’s best to be forgiving. But I can assure you that I’d have a hard time forgetting the horrible things he has gone out of his way to say to the media about the Palin family. I can only wish the best for them. And I can only hope they realize that marriage is a huge commitment and Tripp can have two parents without them making a mistake like getting married if they’re not reading. And maybe they are ready.
And, you know, it’s really none of my business. Who am I to judge? I’m just a tabloid reader who reads the statements that they willingly give to the media!

My girl crush, Carrie Underwood, got married last weekend at Georgia’s Ritz Carlton Reynolds Plantation resort. She was so close and I didn’t even get an invite! People Magazine has released some pictures of her wedding in their latest issue, but this is all that I could see online without buying the issue. The issue will be on the news stands on Friday and you can bet your biffy that I’ll be picking up my copy as soon as possible!
From what I can see, Carrie looked stunning and appears to be very happy. I can’t tell a lot about the dress, so I’m not going to give any commentary on it just yet. Some parts are questionable, but her face is flawless and that’s all that matters.

um… That Dress and I aren’t friends yet. I guess I’ll wait to pass full judgment until I see more, but for now I’m not so sure. And I am also on the same page with the Bristol + Levi situation.. not good.
Let’s just say that Levi and Bristol need to be covered in a whole lot of prayer. I hope for their sake and their son that it does work out for them and can move ahead and be happy. We shall see.
As for Carrie, couldn’t really tell exactly from the picture but does it look like part of her dress was see thru? Either way she was stunning and can’t wait to grab that People!! Have a funny People story for you. We get People delivered to our office, and we kind of have a contest going as to who can snag it first. If we don’t catch it in time, one particular person from the office will get it and it is never to be seen again. I’ll be on careful watch on Friday (when it’s delivered) ha 🙂
I’m withholding Carrie wedding dress comments as well, except I must say, any classy Oklahoma girl (such as myself :)) wouldn’t wear a wedding dress with a see through corset looking thing. I’m worried and stressed for Friday’s issue. There’s no way my Carrie would do something like that!! So true – Her face and hair is always stunning. Love her!
I agree. Bristol= crazy to marry Levi. Ditto to everything you said, plus she is only 19!! I think that they will face a lot of other challenges just because of their age.
And Carrie = total girl crush. I cannot wait for the issue to come out. I can only IMAGINE how stunning she was!!! love love love.
I just can’t even imagine Bristol bringing Levi back into the fold at this point. Sarah and Todd’s statement about the engagement was so classy and I’m sure it had a lot of re-writes before it was released. The original statment probably looked a bit more like this: “$%^&*$*&*%^&$%^&!!!!”
Can’t wait to see the pics of Carrie’s wedding and, as a wedding planner myself, I am so jealous of the catering manager at RC Reynold’s Plantation that got to work with her! What a cool night that must have been for the staff there!

Carrie looks fab, – I love here hair – although I tend to be anti-sparkly-things-that-could-be-called-tiaras and I am very, very afraid that Monique Lhuillier took a page from Pnina on that dress!
I too was shocked on Twitter this morning by the announcement that Bristol made. I was even more shocked when I read that her mom was finding out about their engagement at the same time as the rest of the world. I know she was probably scared to her, but US Weekly was not the way to break the news for sure! I as well LOVE Carrie and can’t wait to see more pics from the event!!

Carrie is the most gorgeous bride ever! I agree that some parts of the dress look questionable from the cover (like the lace that appears to be see-through) but I know Carrie is way more classy than that so I can’t wait to see the entire dress!
Let’s not all be so naive that this is a case of star-crossed teen lovers finding their way back to each other. I saw the story on the Today SHow this morning and immediately thought, “Yeah, RIGHT, she is announcing her engagement in US Magazine and her mom has NO idea.” It makes sense when you think about it all in terms of PR and how the Palin family cannot go five seconds without being in the news.
I don’t wish Bristol and whoever any il will – I hope they DO defy the odds and make it for the long haul – but I think the hand-wringing over what will Mama Grizzly say is unnecessary.
I really, really hope that both Bristol and Levi have learned from their mistakes and have grown up some. Hopefully, that precious little boy will be able to grow up in a loving home with parents that love each other.
I, also, am going to wait until I see the whole dress. Carrie has such a great style that I can only hope the cover picture is not doing the dress correct justice, lol.
I cannot wait to see more pics of Carrie’s wedding! From what I hear, Carrie and her new hubby have a sweet, innocent relationship and good morals! It’s about time someone in Hollywood stood up for what they believed in! It makes me love her music even more!
I am also annoyed at Bristol for getting engaged to that @#$@%%@ @#$%#$%@# %@#$%@#$%. I don’t cuss but that is my version of a bunch of cuss words. I mean, really? She couldn’t find anyone better?
I think that Bristol is a young girl with a whole lot to learn! I didn’t have my first child until I was 27-second at 30. I cannot imagine going through motherhood as a teenager. I hope that despite her choices that her family remains supportive because of Tripp. She’s going to need them to fall back on if all of this doesn’t end up working out the way she wants it to.
Carrie Underwood: I agree that her face is always flawless! Beautiful voice too. I still want her to be “small town”, but I wonder. I mean Faith Hill and Garth Brooks were at her wedding. Really? Don’t get me wrong, I really like CU but how close is she to these folks? I shouldn’t pass judgement without knowing the details. Just my initial thoughts.

I am going to the Ritz at Reynolds next week. I am so sad that my stars did not align to make it the same weekend as Carrie Underwood’s wedding. Too bad I am going to a boring estate planning conference there instead. Blah, blah, blah.
I’m on the fence with the Carrie dress situation–like you said, we need to see the dress without the gorgeous flowers blockin’ half of it. Hair looks lovely–as always (not only is she my girl crush too, but, she’s also my hair crush–if I had the guts to go blonde!). I am in fear of this dress, but that’s just because I figured sweet, down home, Oklahoma Carrie would wear something a bit more, ya know, modest or somethin’? But hey, she’s gorgeous. She’s Carrie Underwood. She can do whatever the heck he wants and I’ll still love her.
Oh, and Levi and Bristol? Holy moly! Am I the only one that feels bad for Sarah Palin in this particular situation? Her own daughter didn’t tell her? (according to the mag, and Bristol) To me, that’s just so sad. If you don’t tell your own mother about it, and tell Us Weekly first, then I think that’s a sign that it’s not right. But, who am I to judge? When I got engaged, my dad didn’t speak to me for 3 months and threatened to kick me out, so, I really have no room to talk here. (however, I told him the day I got engaged and no, I wasn’t pregnant or anything. He just didn’t like my boyfriend/now husband. Now? He loves him!)
Carrie did look gorgeous! I am not gonna go judging her dress. Like you said, it’s not easy to see it all yet, and really, it’s her wedding day and if she felt beautiful, that’s all that matters!!

I can’t wait to see that issue of People!! I love Carrie Underwood and I love looking at wedding pictures. From what I know about Monique Lhuillier dresses, they are mostly corset top, which it looks like hers is, and sheer, which it looks like hers is. Nothing I would expect for our girl Carrie, but like everyone else says, I won’t judge until I’ve seen the whole thing. I will be out cake tasting with the fiance on Friday, so it’s only fitting that I have this magazine in hand to read in the car in between bakeries.
No comment on Bristol’s engagement. Very dissapointing.

When I heard about the Bristol/Levi engagement, I was hoping it was a joke. Then I realized it wasn’t. Levi showed her and her family who he really was last year, but if she is willing to forgive and forget, who am I to say anything different. Good luck.

I, for one, think that the vast majority of what Levi’s said to the press has been true. Sarah Palin is a hot mess, and has done a million questionable things throughout her ‘career’. (If you can even call it that.) Is it a bit odd that those two kids are back together and getting married? Sure. But what nineteen year olds know what’s in their best interest, anyway?
And as for Bristol telling People about her wedding plans before her own mother, more power to her. She knows full and well that Mama Palin is a nutjob, and would not have taken the news well. At least she got some money out of the deal, right? Smart girl.
I don’t know how I feel about Bristol getting married. It is her life. Let her figure it out I guess. 😉

I had a meeting today, so I’m just now catching up on all of this gossip. Bristol and Levi…interesting. Not much we can do, it’s just so funny the decisions that some people make.
I’m very interested in seeing Carrie’s wedding – there was one other picture I could fine, and the inside of the tent looked almost cartoonish. I’m intrigued to see all of the pictures too! I usually don’t buy them, I’m the girl that sits in the empty line and stands there and reads for thirty minutes 🙂
I feel like this was a huge day for Hollywood gossip! I was shocked to hear about Bristol and Levi… what is she thinking?
I’m extremely nervous to see Carrie’s dress because I want to like it, but am afraid I won’t! I love most all Monique Lhullier dresses, but am NOT a fan of the see through bodice. Hopefully a whole picture will prove me wrong, but regardless, she looks amazing!

I suspect the Briston/Levi engagement is a sham. They’re probably trying to sell a story to the media or heaven forbid, get a reality show. Clearly, neither of them is known for making great decisions so I’m not all that surprised.
As for Carrie, I’m hoping the dress isn’t as see through in the bodice as it appears. And while I’m usually very anti-tiara, I guess I can make an exception when the tiara is made from real diamonds. Still, wouldn’t have been my choice. She sure looks happy in the picture and that’s the important part!
I was shocked about the Bristol/Levi news. I do hope that it works out for them, for their sake and for that baby. But what I don’t understand is the urgency to get married. They don’t have to be married to be together. They are so young! Not to mention all of the bitterness that has gone on between them over the past year and a half. I honestly thought the Bristol/Levi story was a joke. Guess not. I have no real opinion on it at all. But I do think Levi looks a bit like Joran Van der Sloot. No?
