go. see. this. movie.

The Blind Side was fantastic. And one of the best movie versions of a book for me in a long time. Todd and I both really enjoyed it.

It’s not the typical sports movie that is full of fluff and cheesy lines. This is a true story and everything from the movie is in the book. And it’s true.

I don’t take back everything I said about Sandra Bullock (in case anyone was wondering– ahem, Todd), but she did do an amazing job in this role. And this role was perfectly suited for her.

I saw it this weekend too, with my 10 yr. old daughter. The theater was sold out. We laughed, a lot, & I got teary-eyed. I especially liked 1) how she told off her high society friends for their bad attitudes during their lunch out, and 2) I really like how they added the real life photos at the end. I wonder if they/he ended up being able to help change his birth mother’s life as they years have gone by?

    Can’t wait to see this!
I *strongly* suspect that she (Leigh Anne) will be speaking at our monthly Junior League Memphis meeting tomorrow night… 🙂

How funny – I did a post about this earlier and our titles are almost exactly the same 🙂 Apparently great minds think alike 🙂

I’ll definitely be renting this one…. thanks for the review (and your reference to your husband in this post gives me the insight I suspected of your last post regarding Sandra Bullock).

Saw it yesterday and LOVED it. I had to stop myself from crying at the end when they showed real life pics!!!!

I also really liked Tim McGraw in this film and the boy who played SJ.

I completely agree! I plan to post about it tomorrow night. We saw it Saturday and I’m still trying to let all of the “lessons” sink in before I write about. I have literally teared up three or four times today thinking about it. It was a powerful movie for us…

Absolutely agree! I laughed, cried, and made it my mission to be like Leigh Anne Touhy. One of the best movies I have seen in quite some time!

I tried to see this movie twice this weekend and was stonewalled on both occasions… hopefully Thanksgiving weekend will hold a better fate! I can’t wait to see it and I know I am going to need a whole stack of tissues to get me through it. So happy you guys were able to get out and see it right away!

I’m so glad you liked this! I’m going to go see it now! I was thinking it was going to be super cheesy but my Mom had mentioned how it was based on a true story and that did interest me.

I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!
