he's my sunshine

You Are My Sunshine is one of the sweetest songs in the world to me. The lyrics are so sweet and simple. It’s my favorite song to sing to Hudson when he’s not so happy and we’re rocking to sleep. If I think really hard about what I’m singing to him, I find myself in tears.

This month’s Southern Living features a home by the owners of Sugarboo Designs, Inc. Their house is beautiful and their little company is so charming. They’re based in Roswell, Georgia, just outside of Atlanta. I visited their website after reading about them and found this. I’m pretty sure it has to be mine.

I LOVE their stuff too! Hubby got me one of the photobox frames that says – What are you doing the rest of your life? North and South and East and West of your life. I only have one request of your life. That you spend it all with me. We have our wedding picture in it.

I sing You Are My Sunshine to my son too. It always quiets him – if even for just a moment. Plus, he doesn’t care that I have a horrible voice.

I love the art! I just found the painting that says “everyday I love you” and that is what my husband had engraved in my wedding ring… I have to have it! I just can’t figure out where they’re sold…now I’m on a mission!

Beautiful! I sing that song to Benjamin all the time. It is truly the most beautiful song. I agree with Maria…he doesn’t seen to mind if I can’t carry a tune either.

Oh, Erin, I love this post. I’m going to have to get this print, too. My dad and I danced to “You Are My Sunshine” at my wedding, because he always sang it to me when I was little. And now, I sing it to my baby!

Good morning! I love this song but it is bittersweet to me. I sang it everyday to miss priss, but after my accident I just couldn’t anymore. But it is such a beautiful song with such a great message! Love the sign! = )

I love it so much! Mr. Everlasting has sung that to me a few times when I’ve been really sad… and he hates to sing… so it always makes me feel so loved.

You Are My Sunshine is my favorite song to sing to my sweet boy, too. 🙂 It’s a routine every morning, and any other time I feel like singing it. 🙂 I call him my sunshine boy. I love Southern Living, my mom has subscribed to it for as long as I can remember…so I will have to borrow her copy to read about this company! And I’ll check out their website, too. 😉

You absolutely need that!! I purchased a gorgeous frame from them last year as an anniversary present for Lee. It’s huge and has a great quote on it. Makes me smile each time I walk past it 🙂

Ok…now you’ve made me cry! I have 3 sons..and ONE daughter! And she is my first born.. The 1st stuffed animal I bought for her, was a little elephant that was offwhite with pink ears and tail. It was a music box too and when you wound up the music box, it played “You are my Sunshine” and its head would bob gently around in a circle.. Needless to say, she grew up w/ me singing it to her..or writing it on cards..I EVEN found a Precious Moments watch when she was 17 that played it!!! and she left for college that year..:( I HAVE to have this sign for her..specially because she is 29 yrs old..has SIX children, Erin!! 4 beautiful little girls and 2 of the most handsome lil’ boys ( a lot like Hudson!)..and she is in the middle of a divorce where he ex is treating her horribly. So she really needs something like this.
Thank you SOO Much for sharing it..or I would have never known! BLESS YOU!! Erin!

PS..if you see this in time..would you pray for me tomorrow? I have to have my wisdom teeth out and I’m 49 yrs old! Can you believe it?? thanks! again Lynn

    Hi Erin,
I’ve been reading your blog for awhile now, and I think you and your family are just adorable! Anyway, I remembered reading this post, and then today came across the Sugarboo website (not realizing that was where you saw the print)…anyway, I thought I’d come here and tell you about it, but I guess I didn’t need to! I just thought that was funny! However, the piece of art I saw with “You are my Sunshine” was a frame…did you see that one? That way you could put a photo of your handsome little guy in it!
