colors!

There are so many gorgeous, feminine things in the latest J. Crew catalog and I’m so anxious for August to roll around. August is my realistic goal of fitting into normal clothes again. Not necessarily my old size, but just non-maternity pants and tops.

My family is planning a beach trip for mid-late August and I’m hopeful that I can go without having to wear any pants with the secret fit belly while I’m there. I feel very fortunate that Baby Boy will arrive before the summer kicks into high gear, so I’m hopeful that I can be completely done with maternity clothes by August. Is that realistic? I know that I will still want to and need to wear them for quite a while after the baby comes.
Here are the J.Crew items I’m hoping to own soon. {After I lose the weight AND win the lottery} That light I’d buy them now, but I have no idea what size to order. All of the ruffles are so gorgeous and that “breeze” color is so calming and beautiful!

Cute, cute stuff! Someone gave me some advice that I followed and so glad I did! She said, don’t take any maternity clothes to the hospital and pack them all up towards the end so you’re not inclined to wear them. I never wore one piece of maternity clothing again once the little guy was out. I bought a couple of loose-fitting pants to wear from the hospital and the first couple of weeks after and that’s all I needed. Your body will bounce back a lot faster than you think – esp if you’re breast-feeding. Your body just kinda changes, so I may weigh 10 lbs more than what I did when I got pregnant, but I can still wear my old clothes because it’s just in different places now!

I am such a fan of the colors too–August will be just in time for you to pick them all up on sale 😉

I hate to admit it, but the winning the lottery part is right! It seems like all of $$ is going to wedding stuff right now… and I just LOVE those colors. They’re so me. 🙂

Not that I have any experience, but I still think August is a totally realistic goal especially when you have such enticing encouragement 🙂 Good luck!

Did you write this post specifically for me because I am loving everything you posted…but then again why am I not surprised we like the same things?

Love love all of these pieces. You will be wearing them in no time after baby boy makes his big debut.

Those are some beautiful pieces. We will keep each other motivated this year (and next) as we get back down to our pre-baby size! We can do it!!

These are such cute things! I love that you are giving yourself until August, but as an earlier commenter said, you will bounce back sooner than you think. I never wore maternity clothes more for more than a week after having my 3 boys.
I am pregnant with my 4th and am reading about these belly girdle things to wear almost immediately post-partum to help your tummy retain it’s former firmness. Apparently Jessica Alba is a big believer. Are you going to do this? It may be too late for me since I’m on #4, but I may try it.

  12. The George Family says

Cute finds, I am sure you will be back into normal clothes within weeks- I was. I wore one pair of maternity pants one time after my son got here, and I was back to a slightly larger version of my normal clothes within 5 days. Your body bounces back quickly!

That skirt and the flats are also on my JCrew wish list! I’m trying to be strong and wait until they go on sale but it’s so hard!

    You will be back in your clothes before you know it! Are you gonna nurse?? With my first one I did not nurse, so I could diet a little more strictly. He was born the end of March and I was back in everything quickly. I was back in many things in 8 weeks. Being young makes it easier. I am serious about that, so you will be great! Also, you have not gained much weight. I gained like 40+ pounds! {shame on me}

With daughter – #2 – I was back in my clothes in a timely fashion. I nursed so that helps you lose. I was back in everything in 3 months.

    xoxo

    Love the last two!!

And I’m sure you’ll be fitting into non-maternity clothes in no time after your baby boy is born!

If it helps, I have heard from reliable sources that the long chiffon dress is not flattering on anyone (I know that made me proud of myself for not ordering!). But the rest of the stuff is ADORABLE and I am sure you will be back into cute summer clothes in no time!

You will be wearing that stuff before you know it! You are young and fit and it doesn’t take long. I never wore one maternity garment after the babies were born, just stretchy stuff at first. I gained 40 lbs. with each child too and it came off fast. I also lost 5 pounds in a week each time I stopped breastfeeding.

I love it all! I just spent some Christmas money on a few summer essentials from J Crew but I’m sorry to say they’re not near as cute as the ones you’ve picked out. I really need to get my butt to a store and try on some of those gorgeous tops!

I walked into JCrew the other day saw too many things and had to force myself to walk out as I was not allowed to shop. Seeing this pics is making me want to walk back in and buy it all!
