all posts now coming to you from here…

My husband is interviewing hopeful new attorneys this morning, so he is spending the morning and the early part of the afternoon at the law school. I was able to partially catch up on my sleep this morning and do some “nesting.” We have a four bedroom house, so we had two guest bedrooms, a study, and our master bedroom. We initially decided to turn the study into the nursery because it was the brightest, cheeriest room in the house. We moved all of our study furniture out and then realized we didn’t have anywhere to put all of our stuff! We realized that it seemed ridiculous to have two guest bedrooms that may only be used twice a year and then try to cram our own stuff into nooks and crannies in the house.

We decided a couple of weeks ago to turn one of the guest bedrooms into our new home office and get a “family computer.” We both spend so much time together on our laptops and when the baby comes we don’t want to be doing that anymore. Not that it will be as much of an option, right? We also realized that needed to have somewhere for a third guest to sleep in case my parents and brother visit at the same time. A chair and a half was our solution! We ordered an oversized chair and ottoman and the chair is a hide-a-bed with a twin bed inside. Perfect solution!
Here is the new study. We painted it Silver Sage (a Restoration Hardware color that Benjamin Moore kindly matched for us) two nights ago. We haven’t hung anything on the walls yet because we’re still deciding on some organization pieces.

My next post will have pictures of the downstairs bathroom updates and pictures of the furniture we just had reupholstered. No nursery pictures yet!

I love that color! I have been thinking about painting my bathroom a color similar to that. Very pretty and it sounds like a productive day!

What a gorgeous color! I’m so jealous of your painting skills. I always want to paint but never seem to do a very good job of it. Lee’s the same so I guess the next time we need to paint we’ll have to call in the experts 🙂

I love the color!! My back bedroom was painted that same color and I loved it. Alas, a couple years ago I spilled a glass of red wine on the wall (knocked it off the desk) and didn’t have extra paint to cover it. Picked an entirely new color. I miss my blue!

I have been looking at that color for awhile…I think (when its time) I want to use it in the nursery (girl or boy). It seems pretty soothing and relaxing! Room looks awesome.

Nice neutral, could do a lot in this room. In the middle of my own home office renovation, and I like you can’t believe how much junk I have. Enjoy your new space! Better get on that nursery!

We have been looking for a similar chair and I’m not having much luck. Can you tell me where you got that one? I love it!

Love the room, I’m a huge fan of oversized chairs. I never knew they had a hidden pullout in them though. All the possiblities…

I love that color! We have a something very similar to that in our guest bathroom.

Isn’t it crazy how your home that was once “huge”….that you never thought you could fill up all the space, is now having to be reworked to fit everything? We already feel that way and don’t have a baby yet!

Also, I wanted to ask if the photographer you use (in all of your professional pictures on your side bar) is local? I think we’re going to have some professional pics taken while we’re in Charleston and I wanted to know who you recommend. 🙂

We have a chair and a half sleeper from Room & Board in our office. It has actually come in quite handy when we've had big groups of friends come visit. I haven't slept on it, but everyone has said it's comfy.

BTW… I gave you an award on my blog today!

Love it! Would you mind sharing your source for the chair and a half? We are a 4-bedroom house like you and turned one of our rooms into an office as well. Knowing that at some point our other guest bdrm will turn into a nursery, I decided I wanted a hide-a-bed chair and a half for the office… great find and love the RH inspired color!! 🙂

Love the color and the new chair! Where are the pillows from on your chair? We are looking for ones that exact color for our couch. They are really cute! (Oh – I can be reached at camiuf at gmail dot com, but will check back here too.) Thanks!

Enjoy that clean house while it lasts! I have 3 little boys at home and oh gosh, do they make messes! It’s an endless cycle of them messing and me running behind them cleaning.
Just found your blog today and I’m addicted! You are just so adorable! I remember the thrill of waiting for that first baby – there’s NOTHING like it in the whole world! Enjoy this time!
