you got the baby!

I’m having my first serious craving. I’ve craved other things lately like Za’s three cheese pizza, chocolate ice cream, and chips and salsa. Those cravings weren’t too intense, though, because I’m able to satisfy the craving within minutes.

Now that Mardi Gras is almost here, I know that it’s King Cake season and I. Want. One. Now. I don’t care if it’s filled with cream cheese, strawberry, strawberry and cream cheese, pecan praline, apple, or not filled with anything at all. I just want a King Cake. The only problem is that I can’t get one in Columbia right now.

My fingers are all ready to click “order” on the Gambino’s website. And I may as well order five or six full King Cakes, right? If I eat the whole cake and then I get the baby, then I’ll have to provide the next cake, and I’ll get the baby again. Then I’ll have to provide the next cake and… This could go on and on and I’m fine with that!

My husband has never been to New Orleans and I don’t think that it’s the best idea to take him down there for Mardi Gras while I’m pregnant. I’ve already told him that next February when Baby Carroll is 8 months old that we’ll head down there for the celebrations and he can experience New Orleans in all its crazy Mardi Gras glory.

Are there any other displaced Louisiana girls that plan to have Mardi Gras parties in their current towns?

If you get the baby you could always say the next cake is for the baby. In Houston we always had big parties, in Arkansas, not so much. The wal-mart King cake is HORRIBLE

I LOVE King Cake! My husband went to law school in NEw Orelans so we go back once or twice a year. We’re going in a couple of weeks to catch some of the pareades before the tourist come. Hope you get some King Cake soon!!!!

I'm displaced from NOLA – I lived there for a while & was able to introduce Mr. Potts to it. We go back at least once a year. I'm definitely craving King Cake (& I'm drinking from my Port of Call cup right now!) but since we just had our holiday party, I don't foresee any other parties for a few months. 🙂
Hope you'll enjoy some yummy goodness & get that baby!

I used to work with a bunch of cajun guys at my first job in houston. New Orleans based oil company displaced because of Katrina. Anyways, they always, every single week, ordered something from gambinos. Always. Now, I’m living in Louisiana at Ft. Polk. Order that king cake! Otherwise, I can just send you one lol!

I’m not a displaced NOLA girl… I’m an Okie girl… HOWEVER, one of my very best friends is. There is a Mardi Gras Ball here in Dallas and I think the hubs and I are going to go with her. It’s supposed to be quite the party! She went last year and loved it and I’m sure we will love it too!
