two movies down. two to go.

We saw Gran Torino on Friday night, and it was honestly one of the best movies I’ve ever seen. I was never bored (as I tend to get in lot of movies that are nominated for stuff) and I think I experienced every emotion imaginable while watching it. Ladies, take your husbands, boyfriends, fiances, brothers, Dads to see this movie. You’ll like it, too. The story is incredible and Clint Eastwood’s performance is so real and convincing.

Then we saw The Reader on Saturday afternoon and liked it, too. Kate Winslet was really remarkable. I haven’t read the book, but I knew a little about the plot going into it. Todd and I even had a serious conversation about history when we left the movie. We enjoyed the movie, but we probably could have rented it once it comes out on DVD, too.

Both movies were really thought-provoking and I recommend seeing them both at some point!

I’ll give updates on Benjamin Button and Doubt once we cross those off the list.

Also– I want to congratulate MMM! Her Baby J was born today!!!

Thanks for the review of Grand Torino…my husband tried to get me to see it last night but I was afraid I wouldn’t enjoy it. I’m more inclined to check it out now!

I’ve been talking about going to see Gran Torino – I’m glad to hear you loved it. BF, Jenna (Cogski), loved it too. It’s nice when a movie comes out that is an all-around movie that both men and women will love!!! Thanks for the report!! Warning Benjamin Button is REALLY long!! My mother said I can’t see in the theater bc she is sure that I will fall asleep 😉 xoxo

Gran Torino was amazing, wasn't it?! I didn't realize how cool Clint Eastwood is until seeing this movie and now I have a little crush on him 🙂

The Reader isn't here and I'm glad to know it's ok to wait until it comes out on DVD. Doubt is still here but in a very limited showing and I'm afraid I may miss it. I'm hopeful the two I really want to see (Revolutionary Road & Slumdog Millionaire) will make their way here but it's too soon to tell.

Can't wait to hear what you have to say about Doubt and Benjamin Button…

I’m glad someone liked Gran Torino.. I was worried it was some action flick that girlie me wouldn’t like. Maybe I’ll take my boyfriend to make up for dragging him to Bride Wars 🙂

I can't wait to hear about Doubt, I don't know anyone that's gone to it yet! I've heard Gran Torino was amazing. We tried to get in last weekend & it was sold out & I haven't had a chance to get back to the theater! Thanks for the reviews!

My hubby saw Gran Torino this weekend and has been talking about it nonstop. He really wants me to see it, so that he can go again. I really want to see Benjamin Button…

If you have some more movie nights, I can’t say enough good things about Revolutionary Road (although it definitely won’t leave you in a good mood). It’s amazing, and I hope Kate Winslet wins for her performance. Also, Doubt was awesome! I saw the original play on Broadway, and they really stayed true to it (which was a good thing).

Hubs wants to see Grand Tarino, so now I’m actually excited about going with him after your review! Can’t wait to hear about Benjamin Button! I want to see it, but don’t think I can make it through a three-hour movie in the theater! I may be renting that one!

That is so great that you are seeing these movies. Watching the awards is so much better when you have seen the movies!

Also, you look gorgeous in your first “bump” photo! Congrats again!

    Have a great day!

I didn’t think I would like Grad Torino, but we loved it.. The language was horrible, but I think necessary to get the real deal across! We said it was one worth buying! I can’t wait to hear what your thoughts are on Benjamin Button. It doesn’t seem like a movie I will like, but maybe I’m wrong?!!?
