I'm dying to know…

I play this game with my friends all the time and I need to know all of your answers because I think it will make me laugh! So, blog friends, answer the following question for me….

If a song came on every time you entered a room, what would it be? Imagine you walking into a room, time stands still, everyone turns to look at you as you walk in, and a song comes on loud enough for everyone to hear. What is that song?

My “walk into the room song” is “Walking on Sunshine” by Katrina and the Waves. Cheesy? Yes! So much fun? Yes!

Your turn!

ETA: I need to share with you the songs that I’ve selected for my parents. My dad’s song is “Rubberband Man” and my mom’s song is “Honky Cat” by Elton John. Mom and Dad, feel free to comment if you would like to change your song.

Hard question! I guess mine would be “I Hope You Dance” by Leeann Womack. It’s a reminder to get up and live your life and stop watching it pass by from the sidelines. After a very good friend of mine died I felt the message of this song in ways I can’t describe. It’s because of this song that the tattoo on my ankle bears the chinese symbol for the word “dance.” Each time any member of my family or extended family hear this song, they all say they think of me. [Sorry for the long rambling explanation.]

Oh my goodness, I would totally want Little Red Corvette by Prince – I drive a corvette (sadly, not a red one), and work in the automotive industry, plus, I’m a sucker for 80s music.

  3. Prissy Southern Prep says

This is embarassing to admit, but mine would be “You’re so Vain” — I am always looking in the mirror ! Not because I think I am so gorgeous — I just love to look in the mirror!

  4. LyndsAU says

I know this is so our there, but mine would be “Pour Some Sugar On Me!” by Def Leppard!!! πŸ™‚ Everytime that song comes on, I scream “Ohhh this is MY song!!!” πŸ™‚ ha

  6. Allison aka HaselBride says

    This is a cute game!

Mine would definitely be “Everyday” by Buddy Holly. I have always loved this song––it always puts me in a good mood with the “ding ding” going on in the background.

  7. Gwen says

Mine would have to be “Bitch” by Meredith Brooks!!! But I bet if you ask my husband he would say “Gold Digger” by Kanye West. πŸ™‚

    Fun Game!!!

interesting question. I think mine would be “Firecracker” by Josh Turner. It’s a country song and I LOVE IT!

  9. zentmrs says

Sinatra’s “Fly Me to the Moon” maybe, or Clapton’s “Wonderful Tonight”. If nothing else, I would love to hear those songs all of the time.

MMMBop, by Hanson! HAHA! I just get in the best of moods when I hear that upbeat diddy. πŸ™‚

  11. Mojito Maven says

My vote would be “I’m Moving On” by Rascal Flatts…I know this song is incredibly sad but it honestly speaks to the core of me. I could listen to it on repeat for hours…For a more upbeat song I would have to say “Straight Up!” by Paula Abdul…LOVE her old stuff!!

BUT Mr. Mojito’s vote would be “She’s Got A Way With Me” by Billy Currington (our first dance song.

  12. SassyEngineer says

Okay – this is so because I LOVE music and can think of a thousand awesome songs. I have thought about what my theme song would be often because of one of my favorite shows – Ally McBeal! I loved how she would be walking down the street and hear her song. Anyway, I think the one I would pick right now might be “She” by Elvis Costello for a more contemplative moment and “Love Song for No one” by John Mayer because it is one of the first songs my hubby ever sang to me. There are too many too chose – I pretty much have a soundtrack for my life!

  13. Caro says

Definitely “Sweet Caroline” by Neil Diamond, of course! πŸ™‚ My bus driver in elementary school used to sing it every time I got on the bus!!

    *Super fun post!!

I always think about this when I am at baseball games and they play a song before a player comes up the bat….I think mine might be something ridiculous…like “Maneater”…HA!

  15. Chitown Meg says

This is hard- because the music that plays in my head goes with my emotion at the time….I tend to go with the slower, more downplayed stuff….I would probably think something by Dave Matthews…..probably that song “My grace is gone…”

  16. Melissa says

i’m gonna say… “rock my world little country girl” haha “acts like madonna and listens to merle..” that’s me. :o) best of both worlds…hehe i’m retarted.

“Sarah, Sarah, storms are brewin in your eyes.”

  19. Island Girl says

This is such a fun idea!

Mine would be “Beauty and the Beast” by Celine Dion and Peabo Bryson. I’m not calling myself Beauty and I’m not dating a beast or anything, but this is my favorite movie and no matter how many times I watch it, I cry when Belle comes down the stairs in her yellow dress πŸ™‚

  20. Bama Belle says

we did this in high school and i hated my high school song (“tears in heaven” since yes, i was known to be super emotional and cried a bit – oops!) new song – Hey There Delilah…I have an obsession with that song.

  21. Amanda B. Young says

Oh my gosh you might be my favorite person ever! No one ever knows what “Walking on Sunshine” is! At my wedding we played “Over the Rainbow” as my dance with my Dad but then opened up the dance floor with “Walking on Sunshine” dedicated to my Dad — whenever it would come on as a kid I’d start giggling and we’d start dancing. πŸ™‚ Great memories!

As for my song…”Over the Rainbow” probably hits the nail on the head. I was obsessed with being Dorothy and, well, I’m a bit of a dreamer sometimes.

Great game, by the way, very difficult!

  22. ms. mindless says

    what a fun idea!

i can’t decide between crocodile rock by elton john (weird, i know) and here i go again by whitesnake (not that i am alone, but for some reason, that song has always spoken to the fiercely independent part of my spirit. i can be a loner in a good way!).

  23. The Pink Owl says

I don’t know why but once I dreamed I walked into an event and I came in to the song “Wanted Dead or Alive” by Bon Jovi (one of my favorites). So yeah, that’s it! πŸ˜‰

  24. CLuthren says

Britt calls me Crazy Catherine and we laugh everytime “crazy train” by Ozzy Osborne comes on so that would probably be it…

Or anything by ACDC- Hells Bells gets me so pumped up- I could imagine myself running out of a tunnel or playing that before a big game πŸ™‚

  25. SouthernAccent says

I love the song Glamorous by Fergie because it gives me the confidence I need when I walk into a room and it’s sassy and stylish!

I loved this post… but I had NO idea what “my song” would be so you were my inspiration for one of my posts today and this is what we came up with. Got to Be Real by Cheryl Lynn!! Thanks BEB, you always bring laughter to my day!!

  28. Mich says

    cute post idea!

hmmmm my song would either be “simply the best” by tina turner (ive turned that song on MANY times to wake up in a good mood) or Black Velve t by alana miles (just to sing along to)

  29. Mrs. Buck says

this is such a great post idea! I think I’ll have to agree with someone above who said Brown Eyed Girl by Van Morrison.

  30. Rebecca Jo says

That reminded me of "Ally McBeal"….miss that show….

Anyways – I instantly thought of Justin Timberlakes "Sexyback"….but not really….I will go with "Beauty & the Beast" – I'm a HUGE collector of that anyways…& I have a Belle dress & try to convince my nieces & kids I'm really her… so that's my final answer… fun topic!

I just found your blog and I love it. I am def. gonna be reading you daily! And the song game is great. When I taught English, I used to have my students divide their lives in chapters and do a soundtrack of their lives. Great fun! My song would have to be something by Diana Ross and the Supremes – maybe “Baby Love”.
