it's Wednesday!

I’m getting my blogging act together enough to post about Weight Watchers Wednesday!

My weight fluctuates by the seasons. I’m always a little heavier in the warm months and I slim down in the cooler months. Some people are just the opposite. I like to exercise outdoors when the air is cooler. I take five mile walks with Boudreaux and eat light soup meals.

Exercise is definitely key for me. I find that if I’m exercising, I’m more motivated to watch what I’m eating. I don’t want all of that hard work to be for nothing. I can drop pounds, but still be “skinny fat.” I like the lean muscle and you have to get moving to achieve that.

In the winter months, I like to go to my spinning class twice a week. I’m able to get cardio and resistance doing that. It kicks my butt! Spinning causes you to sweat like you wouldn’t believe and I like to sweat when I work out. If you’re not ready to sweat then you probably need to reevaluate.

The other days of the week, I’ll take a long walk with Boudreaux and come inside for crunches and light weights with high reps. I like to use 3 and 5 pound weights. I can lift more than that comfortably, but I can’t go as long and won’t achieve the desired effect with higher weight.

I’ve attached a yummy taco soup recipe. It’s only 2 points which means you can eat a little more of it if you’re not full from the first serving! It always helps me when “seconds” are an option!

2 Point Taco Soup

1 large onion, diced
1 (14 1/2 ounce) can diced tomatoes
1 (14 1/2 ounce) can diced tomatoes and green chiles
1 (11 ounce) canned corn with red and green peppers
1 (15 1/2 ounce) can low-fat or fat-free canned refried black beans
2 cans water (3 1/2 cups)
1 package taco seasoning mix
1 package ranch salad dressing mix (dry)

Saute onion with vegetable oil cooking spray. When softened, combine all other ingredients and cook until heated through.

Makes 9-10 cups. Serving size is 1 cup.

How have all of you done this week? Has the weather made a difference in your eating and exercise habits?

This blog is not supported nor endorsed by any part of the Weight Watchers Corporation. All point values are figured using the Weight Watchers eTools and are assumed to be as accurate as possible. Recipes that are labeled as “Core (WW)” may contain trace amounts of non-Core ingredients, but the point value per serving of those ingredients would figure to be .5 points or less in all cases.

I haven’t exercised all week. =( My hubster tries to get me to run with him at 6am, but it is so hard for me to get up that early…Since I’m leaving town today through Sunday, I’ll try to be better next week!!!

I have also been a toal slacker this week in the exercising department. I have had a meeting every day after work and I hate working out late at night so when I get home at 9 I like to snuggle on the couch instead….ugh…please come motivate me 🙂

I've been a total slacker. I will run tomorrow morning and Friday morning – Tuesday morning I totally overslept, no run for me!

Saturday a bunch of us are going apple picking, pumpkin picking, and hayriding! Yay exercise in disguise!

    && Thanks for the recipe!

I am the exact same way–I gain weight in the summer, but slim down in the winter? What is up with that? I am thankful to know there is someone else out there like me 😉

I am the exact same. I lose in the colder months and gain in the summer. What is up with that? I have been on and off of weight watchers for about 2 years now and am going to rejoin TODAY! I have gained the “love chub” since getting married in July! 🙂 Have a great week.

I just commented on MM about the fact that I have my second meeting this week! I’m excited, but scared I didn’t lose any weight. I”ve stayed within my points every day this week, but i don’t feel a difference yet!

I love this taco soup recipe. I got one from my leader similar to this, but it has lean ground turkey and pinto and kidney beans also. I have eaten it every day this week. with a little fat free sour cream, it is delicious!!

I did a spinning class once and I couldn’t walk for a week. It’s so hard! Kudos to you for doing it twice a week!

I love me some spinning. I like doing it in the winter! It is the toughest cardio workout. That recipe looks good, I might actually eat that 🙂 Thanks for WWW 🙂

Thank you for, what looks to be, another winning recipe. I can’t wait to try it.

I don’t know why I’m surprised but we have another thing in common…I tend to lose weight in the cooler months too! It’s normally too darn hot here in the summer to do much of anything but fall/winter bring cooler temps that allow me to get out and walk. I’m doing ok on that front these days but could definitely be doing better!

My main success lately has come from eating smaller portions. Now that I’ve lost a little weight I’m hyper sensitive to non-healthy options (which is so unlike me!) because I’m scared to death to put the weight back on. I’m striving for a balance but I’m not there yet.
