We’re headed to the airport in just a few minutes and we’re going to Dallas until Sunday! I am so excited. I’ve mentioned before that my parents live in Dallas, so we’ll be visiting them. This is maybe the most amount of time I’ve been able to spend at their house in years. My brother is also coming over from Louisiana on Friday night, so it’ll be a full family gathering.
We chose this weekend because USC is on fall break, so I don’t have to teach– making it much easier to take time off from my regular job. We also chose this weekend because the Texas State Fair is going on.
So, we’ll be hanging with Big Tex and eating some deep fried s’mores. That’ll really help my weight loss efforts, I’m sure.
I promise to post while we’re there and hopefully I’ll have good pictures to share, too!

I hope you have a safe flight down to Dallas. I actually live in Dallas (Mojito Maven and I found out we both went to the same college down here). Anyway, you’ll have to let me know if the State Fair has anything good this year. I love going, but the traffic out there is always so awful so we don’t make it out there a lot. Anyway, I hope you have good time – it looks like the weather should be beautiful!
Have fun in Dallas!! Fair food is good – make sure you get a Fletchers Corn Dog. They are the best. Also, this year chicken friend bacon won the best new fair food award… Not sure how appetizing that one sounds. Too bad I am going to be packing all weekend… it would be fun to get Mojito and meet up for some mojitos!

I can’t wait to hear all about it! Hopefully you’ll have a chance to indulge in Tillman’s Roadhouse as well. My oh my, it was incredible! As far as losing weight goes, my advice is to just take the next few days off and enjoy. Hope you have a blast!

We’re going to the Fair this weekend too! I puffy heart Big Tex! Apparently the top rated food this year is “chicken fried bacon”… um, yum? A co-worker told me the lines are ridiculous for them… thanks, I’ll stick to my corny-dog! Have fun!

Yuummmm, fried fair food. I'm partial to the fried oreos, and last year we had fried sweet potato pie, which was really good, too. And I always look for the pineapple ice cream becaues it reminds me of my honeymoon in Hawaii… Oh, and the fried PB&J and banana sandwich is good, if you can find it…by the time I leave the fair, I usually feel like a fat piece of lard, haha!
Hi-just happened by…I am a Texas girl also. Are you aware that teh BIG UT/OU game is at the State Fair this weekend? Such crazyness. Good times :). Enjoy it! I do miss Texas football (I went to UT about 10 years ago).
