pumpkin wreath DIY

I just saw the cutest DIY project on Southern Living’s website. I’m not a huge DIY person. I decorate my own house, but I don’t make the items that I use to decorate my house.

This wreath is so adorable that I may just change my DIY tune. We have a wonderful, old, black front door and I think this would look so cute. They even offer very specific instructions on how to do-it-yourself, so it’s practically fool-proof, but not necessarily Erin-proof.

I would definitely change the bow and how a nice black and white check ribbon or a grosgrain black and white polka dot ribbon.

Does anyone have any tips on how to get a 2 1/2 year old Golden Retriever to lie down calmly on the front porch and agree to not chase any passersby?

That is cute! My front door is black too and I have the same white columns! I wonder if it’d work with fake pumpkins….I’d want it to last for next year, too!

    You can so do it!

PS – For Boudreaux, check out “busy bones”! It’ll help for a few minutes at least 😉

You absolutely must make it! It’s beyond adorable and I think it would look fantastic with a polka dot bow. I know how you feel about DIY (I’m the same way) but I totally think you can do it!

Benadryl… you could probably give him 4 or 5 to acheive the desired effect… not that I’ve ever done that or anything =)

I have a 7 year old golden named buck – basically if you speak very quietly + stay calm – I bet yours will stay! good luck – cute wreath!

Oh I love that! I just may have to spend my weekend with this lil’ project.

And as for the dog, have you tried sedating him?? HA

That is such a good idea! I thought about doing something like that with faux easter eggs. I also have a black door, and I never thought of using it for my advantage during the Halloween season! I am going to check out their website for other ideas. Good luck – I know you can do it 🙂

I love that wreath! DIY is so fun–my struggle is getting past my OCD behavior and just letting it go. No answer to the dog question…I think it might be called medical sedation. ;o)

Good luck with posing a Golden :-)That made me smile.

You should see some of the pictures we have with trying to pose our Goldens. Simone is better now but only because is is 13 and achy – so she is very happy to sit in one place.

    Love the wreath!

Adorable. I’m not crafty at all – no one should trust me near a staple gun – but if you say this is easy, I believe it. Please post if you end up trying it.

As for the dog, I got nothing; my own personal canine would be attempting to eat the wreath.
